    All About Lawns
We used All About Lawns in the past for lawn aeration. However, this year is the last. The guy who aerated our front yard didn't seem to know what he was doing. He merely whipped the aerator around in circles in the yard, not lifting as he turned, essentially tilling our yard. When I informed Shaun of my disappointment he merely said to put down seed and water in those spots. When I informed him that I had to back fill all the divots made and requested a discount to service (since I didn't ask him to correct their damage to my yard), he took $5 off. We'll be saving ourselves the headache and hiring someone else next time.

    M&M Odd Jobs LLC
Mr Emannuel is a nice person to deal with and my first job to be done by his company was to get the overgrown grass of my lawn mowed. I got it done on the day on which I asked it to be done. Responses to my phone calls were given in a very polite and professional manner, they really know how to deal with the customers and treat them with respect. I have hired them again for the same job and expect even better job the next time. I am hiring them again because they also do the job on one time basis and that's why I will be hiring them whenever needed in future.

How did it go? It didn't. After providing a quote, I agreed to the price. The last communication from Mr. Hill was, "I will be there at 9:30am on Thursday." It's now Sunday and he neither showed up or answered my email on Friday asking what was going on. Total waste of time. I have since replaced him with another service provider.

    Green Side Up Landscaping
This is the second time I've used GSU and once again it was a great and positive experience. From Craig and Bill in providing estimate and scheduling for the work to the onsite crew completing the work they all made it easy and did and excellent job from beginning to the end. Great communication! They evenly lay mulch by hand so it spreads evenly, efficiently and cost effective. Kudos and thank you. I will use them again, they provide excellent service. I strongly recommend GSU!

    Green Side Up Landscaping
I claimed a deal for 16 hours of work for $800 off of Angie's list for this company. No response from them, so I called and was told they do not service my area (I'm in Bon Air they are in Glen Allen) I would think anyone located in the greater Richmond area would serve the greater Richmond area, but anyway...The next day a received a message that someone from Green Side up would like to come out and look at my job. I thought hey, they want to tell me how much they can get done for the $800. He came out looked at the job and sent me an email the next day saying they were not the right company for the job, even though the type of work listed in the deal I claimed was the work I needed done, with the exception of some tree trimming.

    M&M Odd Jobs LLC
I've just started using M&M Odd Jobs for lawn care and yard maintenance, they are superb! They did an initial cleanup on my yard and I am very happy with the results! They did a lot of work to cleanup my back fence, which had become overgrown by unwanted plants and all sorts of vines trying to creep into my yard and on my house. Owner Emmanuel provided personal service and always kept my husband and I abreast of what was happening throughout the several days it took to finish the job. I'm looking forward to seeing how my yard continues to improve with their service...

    Oriole Landscaping
Definitely would not use again. When it rains a little, water puddles at the bottom of my steps. When it rains more than a little, my backyard floods. They graded the yard such that all of the water runs towards my house.

    Willow Landscaping LLC
Lupe and his crew did a wonderful job on our yard. He cleared a portion of our yard from debri and stumps where we had trees removed, had topsoil delivered and spread/graded it. His team also dug trenches and installed a drain and pipe in our backyard. We used to have a muddy mess and now there are no puddles with rain. He also seeded and strawed. Great work. Communication with timing and weather is the only part you have to have patience with. It rained a lot and so the top soil couldn't be delivered. I had to call the night before the dates to confirm if they were coming versus having proactive communication. I'd hire again!

The first man I talked with two years ago quoted a price for cutting, edging and blowing ($65). When the bill came it was $ 8 higher ($73). When I questioned the bill, the man who actually came to my home, said it was more for blowing off the sidewalk and driveway. Over the two years, I asked that my candytuft around my mailbox not be trimmed away. Now there is almost none left. I had to constantly monitor the workers or there was no trimming around the back yard flowerbed edging, the candytuft was destroyed, the grass in front and around the shed was not cut at all, weeds grew up where my fence gate swung open and had never been. In an area that was overrun with ivy from the next door neighbor's yard, I contracted with them to clear that area. Three men came; two men did the work while the "head" man was on the phone. They charged by the hour. The most I could pay was $450, based on their hourly rate. The final bill was $500. That area was never cut and I was told repeatedly that they did not "do" flower beds. When I called to cancel the service this year, I said I did not need them to cut my grass any longer. The man on the phone said, "You mean cut your weeds." This business was more expensive, unresponsive to directions and rude. They received their billed amount every month without delay and they have lost a paying customer. When the yard was cut every week, the bill was $260 - 312 per month, without blowing; this is a lot for what was done.

    Yards Plus LLC
I hired Mike to maintain the yard at a 7 unit apartment building I own. This included mowing, trimming, and basic upkeep. Yards Plus offered the best price for the job. They've been at it for about a month now and I couldn't be happier. The tenants at the building don't do the best job of picking up after themselves so every time it gets mowed Mike's crew has to first pick up any garbage that is lying around. The place has never looked better. Mike is very responsive and easy to work with. Since I don't live near the property he lets me know every week when the work was done and any issues that are worth mentioning. I would definitely recommend him to others looking for basic yard maintenance.
