Handyman reviews in Richmond

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • I cannot speak more highly of Mr. Dana Joseph. I found him on Angie's List and hired him because of his excellent reviews. He was extremely responsive (he responded immediately to my request and was able to complete the work in a matter of days from my first contact with him) and punctual (always arrived when he said he would). In addition, he stayed in almost constant communication with me. Both of my jobs ended up with complicating factors (a result of the house, not Dana) and he was able to work to find solutions to all the issues. He was extremely conscientious and really cared about quality--going above and beyond what was needed to ensure a long-lasting and permanent solution/repair. Again, the quality of his work was top-notch. I will absolutely be using him for all my future home improvement needs.

  • I’ve finally found a “fix it” person who does quality work, is incredibly professional, offers a very reasonable rate for service, understands and anticipates the needs of the customer, is on time, cleans up after competing a project, works fast but efficiently, and follows through on promises. Selfishly, I am hesitant to write this review for fear that he will become too in demand and not be available to do the next job on my list of “to do’s.” In all jest, you cannot go wrong by using North Hill Construction - I could not be more satisfied with the work and look forward to using the company’s services in the near future.

  • After a frustrating year of trying to find root cause of leak in our chimney I contacted Cross Timbers roofing as a consultant to help us pinpoint the root cause. They quickly responded and after diligent investigation found and repaired the sloppy work that had been performed by stone masons. To insure they covered all possible breakdowns they investigated all three chimneys. Following the completion of their work we were hit with a 2 day hurricane.... NO LEAKS! These tradesmen are the types of professionals you want as your team. We are now raving fans of Cross Timber.

  • Initially I contacted this company to install a new front entrance door. I was so impressed I asked them to renovate my kitchen. They did an outstanding job!!!! I loved it so much I contemplated taking the house off the market.

  • Dana came to my rescue following a major flood helping to remove furniture and mounds of soaked materials from the basement, and delivering and installing a replacement washing machine. He is a very kind and generous person and a very hard worker!

  • LA Enterprises was extremely responsive, professional and friendly. They painted the inside of our home after a remodel as well as our new garage. They were clean, detail oriented and fast. The work they did looks great and we will absolutely hire LA Enterprises again not only for paint needs, but other home improvement jobs as well.

  • Get another contractor. Ernie Stevens is dishonest. He did not complete the work on our contract and tried to price gouge us the day before our house was to close, knowing that we were under the gun to get repairs done. These are repairs that were paid for, clearly listed on our contract that he stated was completed. When we inspected, they were not. Don't be fooled by Ernie's nice and easy-going appearance, he will try to rip you off. BBB complaint filed.

  • it took nearly 3 hours to put in a small bathroom door which was highly unexceptible in my opinion...that door should not have taken over an hour to replace even with cutting and planing of the door....so after three hours i stopped the worker and just paid his for the time spent and will put my own last two doors in because as an unexperienced handy man i could get my own door put in in that time or less... well if you charged by the hour i guess milking the clock is job one.

  • I attempted to use Molina's Handyman services because a friend recommended him. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks ahead of time. I confirmed the appointment with him 6 days before the appointment. He said he will be able to make it. The day of the appointment he does not show up. I called, texted, and emailed him. He does not respond to me until 3 hours later. He told me he forgot and asked to rescheduled. I gave him a couple of dates and he said he cannot do those days. In the end, I did not end up using his services.

  • The workers had to come back a second time because they did not use screws but nails. I was told it would take 6 hours to replace the boards it took an hour. When I questioned the charge I was told they have a $400.00 minimum, which was not told to me up front. They left nails all over my walkway, so they did not clean up after themselves. This lack of attention to detail and charging top dollar would be a concern for future work. The workers did return the next day and did a good job and reinforced the steps but they need to do it right the first time.
