Generator Repair reviews in Richmond

I can't speak to the long-term aspects of the relationship because it just started. But as for my experience, this company was simply amazing. It was a big job and took a number or days, but every step was explained to me and performed on time. I had a whole house generator installed and they handled everything - permits, gas company, plumbers, etc. Well done Provider name locked. - and a special Kudos to Provider name locked. for his hard work.

My 12 yr old push mower would stop running midway through my mowing, and recently began having trouble starting. I also had a 17 yr old small tiller (aerator & dethatcher) that wouldn't start any more.
Provider name locked. (also known as Provider name locked. Repair) is a relatively new company run by a young friendly & polite guy named Provider name locked. . He works out of his garage (and sometimes onsite) so you don't have to pay for overhead, which means his prices are cheaper than taking your equipment to a "formal" repair shop.
I selected this company largely because I don't have a truck to haul my mower & tiller across town for maintenance & repair. Since they are located right off Midlothian Turnpike, near Provider name locked. -Provider name locked. Hospital, I didn't have to drive far. In fact, Provider name locked. brought his tools to my home and was able to repair the mower (& change the oil) in my driveway. Took him less than an hour, and that included cleaning the mower.
The small lawn tiller (aerator & dethatcher) required a bit more time, and a few special parts, so Provider name locked. took it back to his garage and had it ready two days later.
I'm quite pleased with the work done by Provider name locked. and wouldn't hesitate to use them again for any small engine repair work. Provider name locked. provides good customer service, explaining in detailed, Provider name locked. terms the repair work, and provides helpful tips to avoid future problems with the equipment. He also guarantees his work and encourages customers to call him should there be any future problems. He will come out and take care of it promptly, free of charge.
Provider name locked. charges a $10 diagnosis fee for those who may just want to know the extent of repair needed (and maybe an estimate).
The company repairs virtually all lawn equipment, generators, pumps and chainsaws. They also sharpen chainsaws and other equipment blades, I believe.

Let me preface by saying, I didn't have work done by Provider name locked. - and I've never written a review of a company where the work wasn't performed. Frankly, I was hesitant to do so in this case, but the company should be aware off this practice. Anyway, I called to get an estimate on a whole house generator from Provider name locked. , having gained two estimates from other companies up to the point of the call. I got a call back from the rep promptly enough but it was evident fairly quickly that a phone call was all I was going to get. The guy, who was nice enough and seemed to know his stuff, simply read off their costs like a menu for a 17kw Generac generator, including install, permits, etc. and gave me some quick background company info. I have no doubt the costs were accurate and the information was accurate - they were in line with other estimates I've received. HOWEVER, forgive me if I'm old-fashioned, but I would like to meet the company rep in person and have a "sit down" if I'm going to spend seven to eight thousand dollars with a company. To be blunt, I'm not ordering a pizza, I'm spending a lot of money - and it seems an estimate of this size deserves something beyond a twenty to twenty-five minute phone call. Sorry Provider name locked. - but this practice gives the impression that if you're this lazy regarding estimates, how lazy will you be regarding installs and service? Please correct it for the next potential customer that calls for an estimate - for their sake and yours. Who knows? Provider name locked. may do great work. I'll never know.- Matthew R.
