Fence Company reviews in Richmond

    Good Neighbor Fence Inc
Received notice from city that backyard fence damaged by fallen limb had to be fixed, received various estimates from fence companies which seemed excessive. Robert Stewart came out, gave me reasonable estimate and assured me the repair would be done by city due date, unfortunately bad weather held up work but company came and repaired in time. After initial estimate Robert called to say that cost might be more due to possible need to replace rather than repair gate posts and that was acceptable to me but they were able to repair gate posts, fence looks great and gate opens and closes properly and all for initial costs. I would recommend company without hesitation. Thanks for a great job.

I am thoroughly pleased with my entire experience with Daniel and Grant of Pegram Fencing. From my first contact with Daniel in June of this year to obtain the quote until the installation of the fence yesterday, every aspect of the project has been handled first-rate! They were professional, courteous, affable and a pleasure to work with. I would certainly hire them again for any future fencing needs. May God richly bless them!

Bob was responsive and friendly. The fence looks fantastic and is sturdy. Everyone in the neighborhood loves it and now our toddler can play back there without having to stress about him running onto the street!

    RVA Deck and Fence
The work was estimated on 5-22 and completed on 5-23 but he didn't finish. He left all the old fencing there because he didn't have any way to haul it off that day. He said he would return the next morning and pick it up. He didn't come back and I didn't hear from him. So I called him on May 29 and left a message because I had found some problems with his work when I inspected the fence more closely. There were some pickets with splits in the wood where he put the screen in and one picket that wasn't attached at all at the top. Also some of the pieces looked like a different type of wood. Also the bottom of the pickets was visible above the ground and many were uneven (he stated that was because the roots of trees prevented him from making them even). Also he left a large pile of cement that must have been removed when he removed the damaged posts. He had some extra pickets left over so he said it was no problem to come and replace the split ones, and the ones that looked different. He was first scheduled to come on Friday, May 31. He texted me at 12:30 AM to say it was raining and he couldn't work in the rain but he would get there that weekend. The rain stopped by 6 am and we had no more rain that day or Saturday or Sunday. He texted on Monday, June 3 and said he'd be there Wednesday, June 5. I texted back on Tuesday and explained I wanted to be there when he came so I could go over some things with him. He texted back that day and said he'd be at my house that week. I texted him on Wed. June 5 to say I was going home for lunch and could he meet me then. He said no because he was in New Kent that day. He texted me on Thursday, June 6 and said he was coming the next evening. He texted me on Fri. June 7 and said he couldn't come because of the rain. He texted on Tuesday June 11 (after I texted him) and said he would come the next afternoon. He didn't show up Wed. and I texted him--his response was that he could not come when I was there--our schedules conflicted. On Thurs. he texted that he was on his way at 5:30 pm, then I got another text 10 minutes later with a picture of a blown heater hose in his truck (said he was broken down on Courthouse Road.) Not another word from him until I texted him on Monday, June 17 and asked what is going on? Also I feel I should get a partial refund from him because I paid for extra labor costs when he bought the wrong size pickets. The ones on my fence are 42 inches tall and he bought 48 inch pickets. Then he charged me extra money to cut each of the pickets.

    Pegram Fencing
Pegram Fencing is the only business that I will hire to work on my fence. Daniel and Joel installed the original fence to my newly constructed home a little over a year ago. A year earlier they did an outstanding job installing a section of fence and a large gate at my daughter's house. I recently expanded the chain link fenced in area at my new home. I had existing chain link fence removed in one section and moved back to enclose a larger area, and added a new area. Daniel worked diligently to removed brush to prep the fence area. We discussed in great detail how we would design the space, and Daniel provided different options for me to consider. I completely trust Pegram Fencing to do exceptional work, and they meet that expectation every time without missing a beat. Daniel and Joel are such hard working and honest individuals/business, and that can make an enormous difference in the process and the end result. My Labrador Retriever and I are loving our larger space - Thank You Pegram Fencing! I highly recommend Pegram Fencing for any job, small or large.

I received quite a few quotes for installing my 400+ linear feet fence, but people came off as either pushy salesman or outrages estimates, and then I reached out to Good Neighbor Fence and met Bob Stewart. Bob is a staright shooter which I respect on many levels. He took the time to measure, and double check his measurements of my property. He also gave sound advice on the placement of the fence around certain areas of my yard. When the crew showed up to work the hit the ground rolling, and tackled the yard with no problems, even though my yard has hills and some unbelievable hard bedrock areas. The crew was respectful and kept me informed the entire time. They also cleaned up after themselves, and took the time to put the extra dirt the removed around my flower beds and trees. And understand these are custom built fences, not the sections you can buy from a hardware store. You can't get better then this. Excellent customer service from the estimate all the way to the final walk through. I highly recommend Good Neighbor Fence. -A

Harry and his crew did an AWESOME job with fence and price. i got 4 quotes from fence companies and Harry beat their price by several hundred dollars and on top of that the quality and style is much better than the other big name guys. If you're looking to have a fence installed I recommend Image Fencing hands down.

Harry and his team did an amazing job putting up a 6ft privacy vinyl fence for us. We live in the wetlands/ floodplain so the past few months have been **** ** our soil. Harry kept us well informed while we waited for the soil to dry out to install the fence. They removed my neighbor's chained linked fence for us which was extremely helpful. Our new fence is close to the ground so my 8lb dog cannot get under it; the gates are secure and easy to use. We have 0.3 acres total and it took 2 days to complete the job. I highly recommend Image Fencing Inc. for your next project!

    LOWES
The person at Lowe's was great but the contracting company they sent out was horrendous. They did not have enough parts and installed the wrong sized gate. They were completely unprofessional and it was just an awful experience. They never communicated with me and just disappeared when they were done. Loews never gave me the name of the company and I regret going through them. It took 2 months to get the gate changed to the right size. I will not go through them again for projects like this.

I met with Bob Stewart initially to outline the fencing project. He provided a quote within 24 hours. The price was very competitive compared to competitor quotes received. We were told the work would begin 4-6 weeks following quote acceptance. The materials arrived on Thursday of week six and the work began mid-week of week 7. A week of rain delayed the start date slightly. My only complaint is that the materials arrived without any heads up, and sat in the street for several days. I happened to be home, but if I was not, the delivery person planned to leave the materials in the grass (which I would not have wanted). This is a small complaint but just the nature of delivering 200+ feet of vinyl fencing. Once on-site, an issue was identified once the old fence was removed. Bob quickly called me to come out to talk through the issue, and Bob and Shane explained the issue. We were able to navigate the issue, and in the end after 3 days of work, the fence was finished. The work quality was excellent and the fence completely changed the landscape. I have zero complaints about the installation itself, it went about as smooth as possible. Bob, Shane and the installers were all great. Would highly recommend to anyone considering a fence installation and I will likely use them again!
