These folks have their act together. Everthing went smoothly and according to plan. Big advantage over competitors -- they actualy sand the cabinets well before refinishing! All workers were professional and courteous. Clean up after work was exceptional. Working with the manager and estimator went very well. We are very pleased with the result and the price. Our kitchen looks fabulous!

Thiago and his team did a great job painting our kitchen cabinets. They were prompt in arriving at 8am and worked efficiently to stay on schedule in order to have the entire job done in 5 days. The only con that we had was that we were not prepared for the smell of the paint primer, which was a bit overwhelming considering the amount of cabinets we had painted. Thiago however was accommodating and brought in more fans to help ventilate. We also had all windows open and air purifiers running which helped. Other than that, the entire team was very friendly, nice and incredibly helpful! We look forward to hiring him and his team again in the future.

Initially I contacted this company to install a new front entrance door. I was so impressed I asked them to renovate my kitchen. They did an outstanding job!!!! I loved it so much I contemplated taking the house off the market.

We had our cabinets painted and I am in love with my kitchen again! From the start of this process Thiago and his team have been extremely helpful, accommodating, and punctual and I could not be happier. Every day they were working they kept me informed of the progress made and what was to happen next. They showed up on time and worked tirelessly the entire time they were at my home. I cannot wait to use this company again for more paint projects!

Great team. They kept us informed each step of the project through email or by phone. They were punctual for each appointment and very professional. During the cupboard painting process, they took great pains masking of parts of the kitchen and the doorway. No paint went where it was not supposed to go. They cleaned everything up as well. Our kitchen looks like new and we are really pleased.

We had our 40 year old stained pine cabinets refinished, including removing old doors and drawers, modifying existing valances, sanding and painting the old frames, and installing new doors, drawers and hardware. The results were excellent... the kitchen looks like new. Jamie was very through during the consultation; explaining the process and making recommendations. A designer was available for consultation on colors, etc. during a later visit. The crews were on time took care to protecting surrounding areas. Overall the process took 4 days. I would highly recommend them.

    Maison Construction & Renovations
Ken and his team did an amazing job. They were all such a pleasure to work with, I would absolutely use Maison again for a future renovation. We actually got a quote from another company that was lower, however after talking it through with Ken I knew that his quote was the most realistic and the project did in fact completely stick to the proposed budget. Highly recommend!

    Affordable Remodeling LLC
Back in February, when we consulted Angie's List, there was a company called affordable remodeling. They were one of your highest ratings. Even on their business card has "Angie's List Reward". Years before, when we were moving into this house, I was preparing my other house for sale. I used Angie's List and I had very good luck. I got some great people to help me get my house ready to sell. It was great. In February of this year, we were going to do a kitchen, a bathroom, hardwood floors in two rooms, and refinish hardwood floors. Affordable Remodeling gave us a bid for everything except the hardwood floors, so the kitchen and the bathroom. Because of his reputation and my good luck with Angie's List, we went on ahead and gave him a 50% deposit for both projects considering it to be one project: kitchen and bathroom. He was going to do them all. The Kitchen was supposed to take 3 weeks. After about 4 weeks, things started to really go down hill with these people. They were doing very shoddy work, we were low priority: they would not call; they wouldn't show up. We got to looking and said, "what's going on?" We went back to Angie's List and Angie's said, "we no longer recommend these people. We don't list them," (or something like that), "because of the bad experiences other people have had". So, here we are now, just like, "Oh my G*d, what's going on?" Well, part of the kitchen job was granite counters. He has not paid the granite people and they are going to put a lien on my house because they want to get paid for their granite. Part of the granite project was to put black, because we had a bar that built a wall up and there was an upper level of the counter level, a bar, which required brackets for support. They were supposed to supply them and they never did until much later and they provided some that weren't right. They misused them because the granite was already down. These were supposed to be installed before the granite was down. So, that's a bad job. They also were supposed to provide 3 [unknown word at 4:18]. One of them would be real and the other two would be fake, but they would all match. Those have never been provided. Finally, I told them that they were not going to do my bathroom and since the deposit that I paid was more than what the kitchen cost, I wanted some of my money back, about $3000. Of course, I'm not going to get that back. I have to pay for the granite and I'm not going to get that back. This has been my experience with Angie's List this year. The last contact that I had with them was last week. The day that I paid the granite people, he sent them a message and he copied to me, saying that he was going to pay for it, but that he normally pays his bills on the 22nd. Well, that's the day after tomorrow. So that still remains to be seen. I think it was just a delaying tactic because he was already supposed to have paid him in April, so it's just more delay. They did some work in early June and that was it. My wife and I are finishing up. We're doing some painting. We got our own doors. He was supposed to provide three and we bought our own online and my wife's painting and we're doing all that, finishing up the kitchen. The list of shoddy workmanship just goes on and on. You know when you put tile down, you cut the framing, the trim, you undercut the trim so the tile will fit under it. He cut it, in some places, a half an inch too high. Between the tile and the trim, there's a half an inch hole, and the smallest one there was probably about 3/8. I have to take the trim back off and replace it with new trim and fix it. I've paid them $22,000. The charge for the whole job, kitchen and bathroom, was $44,000, so I paid half. The kitchen part was supposed to be $16,000. Then there were some overage because we selected better granite, of course I'm paying for all the granite now. Then there was a problem with the floor which was about another $2000. Anyway, I'm over paid by about $4000 and if I have to pay for the granite, that's going to be another $3000. I paid them $22000 and out of pocket more money. The paint job, I would say, on a scale of 1 to 10, I would say a 7. I could have done better, but one of the reasons is I'm 73 years old so I used to do all this stuff myself, but I can afford to have somebody do it. They were the highest bidder but they were supposed to be the best quality. I had to have them redo that because you know how the brick pattern where every other row lines up with the one below it. It didn't line up so they had to rip some of that out and redo it. One of the tiles was cracked under where the electrical outlet was supposed to go. It was cracked below the electrical outlet but they just put the electrical outlet cover right on it. But if you're going to wash the wall with a rag, it will snag on it because it was still sticking out just enough, so of course I had to replace that piece of tile. Crummy work, crummy work. We still have a little bit of grout work left because the granite people took the bar off so I could put proper support brackets for the bar and they will come and put the granite back down. Talking about what I great job I did with the brackets, but now there's grouting that has to be done down there. But, I'm done with Affordable Remodeling, so I'm going to have to do the grouting myself or hire somebody else to do it. I've never done grout, but I don't think it's going to be that difficult. He owes me money and I've explained it to him and gave him deadlines as to when to pay me the money and he hasn't done it. Part of what he owes me is the deposit for the bathroom that he's is going to do. I need that money back but he hasn't done it and I don't think he will. I think he's going bankrupt. They did a good job on the tile floor. For responsiveness, I wish you had something lower than "F". I made calls with no answers. They'll be here tomorrow but don't show up, don't call. That's a big "F" on that. When they were supposed to show up and they did show up, they were generally here by 9:00.

    Trogdon Enterprises
Jay and his helper came out Monday morning and took all of the doors and hardware off and put a coat of primer on all of the cabinets. They took the doors to a building that Jay had built to put primer and two coats of paint on them. Wednesday and Thursday they returned and put two coats of the paint that I had selected on the cabinets and explained the process each step of the job. Friday they returned and put the doors and all hardware back up. I am very pleased with the outcome and would most definitely use them again. They were very courteous and cleaned up when they were finished.

Went very well.  Getting wood to blend with granite was complex and most bidders were not able to do it.  Did a good job explaining costs and schedule.  Has come back to provide excellent followup service
