  • Great! The office staff was friendly and efficient. I didn't wait long. I actually saw the nurse practitioner. I"m not sure but i think her name was Kim. I wish I remembered. I was treated with respect and concern for my very raw, persistent and intense case of poison ivy.

  • The doctor I went to was fantastic and I've been using her for 17 years. She's very informative and got a great bedside manner. She is always available and I'm just very happy with her. When she needs to refer you to somebody, he always gives you some of the top notch doctors to go to.

  • My problem was that I had backache. In the end i had to have major surgery. I was hoping for a treatment solution - not opioids as I had to drive and volunteer at my son's school.. The doctor refused to consider any option except a shot of Toradol. Now I find toradol very helpful but it wears off in a fee hours. "It's the only thing I can do for you at the moment" he said. I responded "do you mean to say that this is the best that Duke can do - all the resources and self promotion you can't even give me alternative?" and he responded that I should go to my primary care doctor the following Monday. I have been three times. NEVER again. I have had some excellent treatment from other local Urgent Care centers - I just want to feel that the doctor cares, but I feel like I am an inconvenience to their day.

  • Despite my severe back pain, which apparently is a classic sign of a kidney infection, the doctor did no tests and simply prescribed a couple days of antibiotic for the UTI and heavy duty ibuprofen.

About 3 hours later, I was curled up in my bed and delirious with a 103 degree temperature. Luckily, I had started the meds so it did start going down about an hour later. But I was still so ill four days later that I visited my primary care doctor, who said I indeed had a bad kidney infection and prescribed a longer course of antibiotics.

And no, insurance wouldn't pay the bill for the crappy care I received either.

  • North Raleigh Office -- not Blue Ridge Office. Arrived 10 minutes before closing and was met with a roll of the eyes. Receptionist gave me the forms and called for the nurse. I could hear them bemoaning a "late" arrival. Nurse asked for my condition and immediately told me I needed to go to the ER. I said: "Too close to closing time?" She became belligerent and told me the PA said my condition was one for the ER. Well, since the nurse didn't know my condtition until she came up front, and since she told me she had discussed it with the PA (though she never left the front after learning of my condition), either the nurse LIED -- or she and the PA communicate via brainwaves.

  • I am an employee at Duke. I chose to go to Duke Urgent Care above other urgent care facilities because of that reason. What a mistake! I only waited in the waiting room for about 15 minutes. Once I was called back my vital signs were taken by radiology technologists then I was placed in a room to wait for the doctor. I waited for over an HOUR for the doctor to come in. She entered the room, did not introduce herself, asked me what was going on and didn't even examine me. I told her that I had symptoms of the stomach flu. She told me that I was severely dehydrated and that I needed to go to the emergency room. I asked her if she just couldn't run a bag of saline and give me an anti-nausea medicine. She adamantly refused to do that and told her nurse that I wasn't fit to drive and that I needed to be taken by ambulance. I told her that a friend had driven me and was in the waiting room. Someone went out to get my friend but she came back in and said that no one was out there. As I got my cell phone from my purse to call my friend the doctor was telling the nurse to call an ambulance for me. I was telling my friend to come back inside (he had gone into the car to wait since it was taking so long) and trying to tell the nurse not to call an ambulance. The doctor grabbed the door from my hand and shut it. My friend came in and as I was telling him what was going on the nurse came back in and asked what I wanted to do. I said that I needed saline for my dehydration and an anti-nausea medicine. He said that the doctor wasn't going to do anything for me. So I got up and walked out. I went home to sleep. My friend got me Gatorade and an over the counter anti-nausea medicine. I was feeling better by the next morning and eating solid food 2 days later. I will NEVER go back to this urgent care again.

  • They provided treatment for the 2 places where the dog had bitten me. They bandaged my arms and also put me on antibiotics. The pain had disappeared after taking the medicines. When I was in there on Friday, they were very quick, professional and nice. On Monday, I had to wait a lot, but they were still professional and nice. I saw a different doctor on Monday. I hopefully don?t have to go there in the future, but if I need to then I will definitely go back to them.

  • I saw the doctor after a bit of a wait but I was a walk in so that was ok, but I felt the practice overall lacked some professionalism. After leaving I had a question about some side effects from my perscription and even though they advised me to call if I had any questions it was impossible to get a return call from them. After 24 hours and no return call I called again and they suggested I come back in. I wasn't willing to do that and wait again, pay again and perhaps not get my question answered. They'd provided me a phone number to call. I just couldn't get a return call from them.

  • One of my teenage boys had a lot of ear pain and since he was a swimmer, we thought he had an ear infection. It was a Saturday, so we thought we would try the Minute Clinic at CVS. We signed in, had a thorough exam by a very nice and professional nurse practitioner, were told what to do to treat and prevent it, got a prescription and paid all within 20 minutes. Best of all, it is billed just like a doctor's office visit so I paid his regular $20 copay (it is not considered "urgent care or emergency room"). We will never go to the regular doctor for something like this again!

  • After arriving and checking in, they took my ID and company provided form for the drug screen. They kept my ID with the form. I waited for more than 30 minutes although it was not that busy. One of the lab staff members called me and asked me for a "kit" or vial that according to them was supposed to be provided along with the form from the employer. They turned me away. I later found out the form clearly had written on it "10 panel" for the type of drug test to be performed that indicates that the lab is to provide vial for test. When my employer later contacted same lab for an explanation, they claimed "he didn't have the form." This shows certain lack of training and qualifications of their staff and question their ability to provide proper medical services in an urgent care center setting. I would not recommend this urgent care center to anyone.
