We highly recommend Billy Vaughan, Vaughan Building and Remodeling for interior and exterior remodeling requirements for your home. Vaughan Building and Remodeling completed an excellent home renovation in collaboration with his superb trade partners. We selected Vaughan Building and Remodeling after viewing two of his home renovations on the Wake County Remodelers Tour and meeting with Billy Vaughan on the tour and at our home. Billy recommended and we used the excellent design services of Thomas Betts to totally redesign the kitchen, master bath, powder room and enlarge the dining room. The primary values we observed with Vaughan Building and Remodeling are: honest, trustworthy, personal and financial integrity, listen and respond to customer requirements, daily communications (e.g., texting, telephone, email), and very frequent on-site visits to discuss progress and review work and problem solve any issues. Billy Vaughan has an easy, pleasant working style and our interactions with him were positive and respectful. Billy did not require nor accept money upfront to fund the renovation but invoiced at the end of the month based on services provided and supplies purchased. He provided receipts for items purchased along with the invoice for services rendered. Vaughan Building and Remodeling employs three full-time experienced master carpenters/remodelers who are outstanding! They are highly skilled, professional and diligent master craftsmen. They ensured every detail was completed according to customer requirements and to the highest standards. They kept us informed of any renovation issues and asked questions to ensure work was done to our requirements. The work area was left orderly and clean everyday. Billy Vaughan works routinely with selected trade companies that he knows well and who share the same honest, trustworthy and high quality work ethic. Billy was in frequent contact with the trades (e.g., plumbers, HVAC, electrician, painters, tile installer, custom cabinet maker) throughout the renovation to schedule project work, manage workflow and follow-up and resolve unknown renovation issues that arise in many renovations projects . We are thankful for the excellent renovation work provided by Vaughan Building and Remodeling and highly recommend this company.

He said 6 to 8 weeks 10 tops. It took 26 weeks. Always late sometimes just didn't show up. Moved building location, changed pre-agreed upon materials, all without checking with me. He will tell you what ever you need to know to get the job. I gave him a $10,000.00 and didn't see him for 7 weeks. When ever a small quick job would come up he would leave my job and go finish other job.

We had a tree come through our roof during a torrential downpour, and Billy and his crew did a great job making it better than new. We had a LOT of unusual requests that Billy had never dealt with before, and they did an amazing job. Billy also worked with me continuously on our budget as we dealt with our insurance company. He also worked with the city inspectors, as our plans were a challenge even for them! In the end, we love our new room, and we had a great experience with Billy and his workers.

Reprimanded and made to pay $2,500 cost recovery by NC Licensing Board for General Contractors. File 16C336. The NC State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating & Fire Sprinkler Contractors put license of owner Keith Hotchkiss on one year probation. File 11460 Did work without first applying for legally required permits, did not have work inspected by City of Raleigh Inspections Department. Work did not meet building code requirements. Much of it had to be destroyed and redone, at great expense.

JHR did a great job removing the walls and fixing the floor, sheetrock and molding. They arrived on time and kept our house as clean as possible during the remodel. Finished the job quickly! We are extremely pleased.

Fantastic! Adam was very attentive to our needs, including getting the color and look of the new siding to match as closely as possible to the existing vertical cedar siding. His 3D rendering of our house was a nice touch, because we could easily switch out the different styles and colors to get a glimpse of what our house would look like. He also had several samples available for us to examine and hold up against the house to get an idea of the color and grain of the material. His crew was very thorough and professional, with a very minor punch list of items during the job, which were resolved typically the very next day. I'm exceptionally pleased with the work, and house looks incredible. Not only that, our pest inspector complimented our house, and stated we that chose the best product that will last for 30+ years. Adam, also took the time to address underlying issues upon my request, such as additional insulation in the walls, and sealing up the soffits with additional battens to give all overhangs a nice, tight seal. He also shared several financing options with us, including partial payment and partial loan options. Thank you for everything you and your crew did for our house and our family! Truly, one of the best construction companies in Raleigh.

I really don't know where to begin. These guys are awesome and they are professionals. I have found it extremely difficult to find someone that is a professional, shows up ON TIME, and comes in ON BUDGET. These are the people you are looking for. I worked directly with Scott on several projects ranging from plumbing, roofing, electrical, HVAC to framing, you name it. The job got done right, on time and on budget. Any time I needed something or had a question I could call them or email them and get a response back almost immediately. I will only be doing business with these guys from now on for everything.

I recently purchased a vinyl album released by a local band that's a favorite of mine. I was very taken by the cover art and the color of the record (a bright blue with a splash of darker blue). When my wife remarked that she thought that the cover was one of the most attractive examples of an artistic album cover she'd ever seen (we're 60, so we saw a lot of cover art over the years), I floated the idea of framing it and hanging it in our family room. To my surprise, she agreed! After searching Angie's List for custom framing shops, I settled on Framecrafters, and dropped by one morning with the album in hand. Sean (the owner) was immediately enthusiastic about the project and my ideas for the design (which included displaying both the cover and the record, as well as including a denim band patch that was used as a promotional for the album). He took my basic idea and steered me in a slightly different direction for the matte design, showing me how he could keep the cover and record securely in position while floating them behind a two-layer matte (in order to give the look more depth). He also came up with an idea for how to position the patch on top of a double matte placed in a cutout in the main matte that solved a color match problem (the black denim patch doesn't really match up with the earth tones in the cover art, which is what determined the colors for the main matte). At my request, Sean even made it possible to easily remove and replace the back board, so that I could occasionally flip the record around to side 2 (which has different art on the label than side 1). The end result is quite striking, and does a great job of displaying the cover art and record in a way that, well, looks like art! [For the curious, the album is Badlands by Jack the Radio; you can see a photo of the framed album on their Facebook page on May 3, 2016 in their timeline.]

The first visit was to gather info for a bid on the project including which materials would be needed. The second visit was installation. He was a little late getting here but clearly explained why he was late. The actual work went well, he cleaned up the work area entirely and I am satisfied with the results.

He’s an expert in framing and restoring any antique oil paintings.  He did some archiving for me and he did it at museum quality.  His price was probably a third less than any competitor.  The workmanship was excellent along with his recommendations.
