"Work was never done. That was bad enough - but my biggest complaint was the lack of logic Angies List showed given the circumstances of this specific situation." This was not me canceling work, this was a contractor who did not show up and could not be reached by me or Angies List. Angie's List made me jump through hoops for almost a month as if I had chosen not to follow-through with the contractor even though Angie's List could not reach him either. When I called Angies List for help, it was 2 days after the 30 day refund policy because I thought the contractor was still going to do the work. I thought they could get him to respond. Angies List was also unable to reach the contractor and there was no other Big Deal of comparable price for concrete work. What was most ridiculous was that one of the options Angie's List thought was viable was for me to maintain a $589.00 credit with this same contractor - WHO WAS NO LONGER RESPONDING TO CALLS (even from Angies List.). No one would want to maintain a $589.00 credit under these circumstance or have work done by an unreachable and unresponsive contractor !! To add insult to injury, I was also told that this credit would completely expire in 6 months. Apparently this somehow still made sense to the Angie's List consultant I was working with. Even with the circumstances I've described and only 2 days past the 30 day refund period, I was required to buy another Big Deal BEFORE I could get my $589 back!!!!!!!!! I am fortunate that I had another completely different project to do, but no customer should be required to "create work" under these kind of circumstances just to avoid losing so much money. Someone at Angies List should have been able to understand that this was a unique situation where penalizing a loyal customer under these circumstances just to stick to a policy is just NOT GOOD BUSINESS SENSE.

  • The estimator  (Provider name locked. ?) showed up in early November to provide details on the $589 deal I purchased in October. He seemed like a very competent person, and we agreed on a plan, but it was postponed until after Christmas. Then, starting about a month ago, I have been trying to contact anyone at the company. I have had no response to multiple emails, and when I tried to contact "J.K. Ford" at the number listed on Angie's site, there was no answer except for a message saying that the mail box is "full."
         So Provider name locked. now has my $589, but I have nothing in return, and apparently no way to communicate with them to find out what is going on.
         This is all very disappointing because the company seemed highly rated when I purchased the deal. I would like to resolve this by ether getting the work done very soon, or getting a refund of my $589 very soon.
