Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was great. We interviewed over 5 different companies and chose
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
. He picked up on our style and was very helpful in guiding us in choices that not only looked great but also met our budget. He also wasn't limited in options like many other companies were. He doesn't do plumbing but has a plumber he routinely works with which allows him to schedule the work as needed. He also doesn't paint, but we have had a painter we have used for years (Traditions Fine Painting if your interested).
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
provided a detailed quote and work effort. He was respectful of our time and home. He always cleaned up at the end of the day and was very careful when moving materials in and out. He was extremely detailed, and we think he went above and beyond to make things perfect. His budget and time estimates were almost perfect. We had a slight delay because of constant rain (didn't want to track mud in and out of the house), and we came in slightly over budget, but that was because of us not
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
. Most important of all, we felt he treated our home as if it was his. He didn't cut corners, and he absolutely made sure the quality was perfect.

We'd recommend
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
to anyone. Excellent craftsmanship and very professional. We'll definitely look to use
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
as we consider our other full bath and kitchen.

did an exceptional job. The coupon that I bought on Angie's List did not exactly match the amount of work that I needed done, but
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was very flexible with me and allowed me to apply the coupon to the work that I needed done. We got the date on the calendar, and
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
kept in contact with me until that date arrived. On the day he was scheduled to begin work, he was on time and prepared. He showed up every day at 8:00 and worked hard. The snow and ice delayed the project one day, but
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
arrived early and worked late to catch back up.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was very consciences and cleaned everything up before he left. I felt very comfortable leaving him alone at the house to work when I had meetings that pulled me away. He was able to give me some great advice and saved me a lot of money. I would use him again for any tile project that came up.

"They showed up on time and ready to work. The crew consisted of the workers. They were fast and efficient. They started by ripping up the tile linoleum. removed the quarter-round and then placed the Hardiboard down. They taped all of the seams, and screwed it down tightly. The placed the tile in a wonderful diagonal pattern.

"Overall once the job was complete (which required two trips - one for touch up), the result was great. I am very happy with the result. That said, Grout Medic charges a premium price and provides knowledgeable premium workmanship but the overall service and operation of Grout Medic is not in line with that premium price. (note - I did compare prices with others but chose Grout Medic due to better knowledge of how to fix the problem)
Here is more detail. The original date of the service was Friday 1/3/14 and was supposed to be two installers for one day but one installer called in sick. So the first installer volunteered to come back on Saturday to finish the job. So this was good. On Saturday the first installer finished in about half a day and asked me to verify the work was finished properly but the work was still somewhat wet so we had to tip toe around trying to make sure the work was correctly done. I had the installer touch up a few areas which he did cheerfully. (I specifically chose that word as he really wanted to make sure things were done right) We did the best we could and he fixed all issues I found that day.
Things looked much better in the bathroom but after closer inspection there were two large areas that were completely missed and some areas that were not as well done as originally thought. So I called Grout Medic and they sent someone out to complete and touch up the job. He did a great job and in the end, I am very happy with the work. But there were several other problems I ran into that I will mention below.
- In the initial call to Grout Medic to get an updated estimate (I got one estimate last year but decided not to do the work), the office manager called me back and tried to fit me into
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
's (owner's) schedule for a particular week as I was about to travel on business. She *never* called me back and I had to follow up in mid-
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
with her when she didn't even remember speaking with me.
-- When the first installer arrived, it was clear that he wasn't really sure what exactly to do in the bathroom even though he had the estimate with the details. Obviously no one had gone over what was to be done with him.
- Grout Medic uses an email scheduling system for all jobs and on the touch up job I did not get an email confirmation of the job day/time as expected. I was not 100% sure that they were coming until I did receive a reminder email 24 hours ahead of time. (and yes, I checked my Junk email folder)
- After the initial job was completed I called and left a message that I wanted to provide feedback to
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
(owner) on the work and schedule a touch up job. The office manager called me to schedule the touch up job but I never heard from
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
.
- Minor point - but every one of my calls to Grout Medic went to voicemail and returned. No one actually answered the calls.
In the end, I had to be very involved to make sure things were done right which in my opinion shouldn't be necessary given the premium price paid. I would expect
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
to insure that the final work is completely finished and in-line with the quality he expects for his company. I shouldn't have to do that by myself though I appreciate his installers insuring that I did have a
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
to provide my feedback.
I would give the following grades to the personnel I dealt with.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
(estimator) - A (very knowledgeable about what needs to be done and how to do it right)
First installer - B
Second installer - A
Office Manager - C
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
(managing his business, training employees, etc) - B
If I needed this service again, I know that I could ultimately get high quality work but given the price, I would have to think hard about whether I had the time to make sure the job was done right.

"After discovering a series of water leaks under our master bathroom shower area, thanks to Wake County's infamous reputation for shoddy construction, we had the misfortune of having to demolish half of the bathroom down to the crawlspace. When we began the process of repair and renovation, we decided to upgrade in the process. The old bathroom was plain white ceramic tile, with the usual garden tub and cheap metal & glass shower enclosure. What we envisioned was a masterpiece of beautiful travertine tile and frameless glass enclosure, complimented by a 60" whirlpool bath.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
made that vision happen. After they did such a superb job tiling our guest bathroom, they were the only choice for the master bathroom. What a masterpiece! This was a rather extensive renovation that included a number of construction "challenges" thanks to our home builder, and some elaborate detail from the tile baseboard to the splash area around the tub. It even included a knee wall and seated area.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
delivered big! Down to the last detail, this couldn't have been nicer. We now have a high-end master bathroom that looks gorgeous! Thanks, once again
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
! We would highly recommend them.

"Fantastic work from
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
!
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
managed the project from beginning to end with the utmost of professionalism.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
did an outstanding job with some very nice travertine we picked out. We needed a vendor to deliver big time after discovering a nasty, long term leak under the toilet in our guest bathroom. After we reconstructed a portion of the bathroom floor down to the crawlspace, we decided to upgrade when it came time for the renovation. We couldn't have been more pleased. Although not a large or complex job, there was some critical detail and they handled it well. They handled some additional work that made the last portion of our bathroom renovation and remodel fairly "turnkey". Cost was very competitive with other top vendors. Would highly recommend
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
for any tile job! We wouldn't use anyone else.

"On time for initial meeting. Quote given on spot. Actual work about 90 days later.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
left materials list for finish tile that we had onsite when he started. He brought everything else. 4 day job. Showed up early every day. We had a couple small changes to what we wanted done that he did without changing the price. Finished work looks great!! On time, on cost, looks great. Can't ask for anything else.

"I can't sing the praises of
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and his team enough! Having used another tile contractor several years ago and seeing the difference between then and now with
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
, all I can say is WOW! The tile was laid BEAUTIFULLY, they were cautious with their tear out, we didn't have a mess afterwards to clean up and the work was done with attention to detail and a level of expertise you just don't see now days.
When he wrapped up our job, we said, "now what can we tile?!"

"I called three local tile shops including Best Tile (the one we ultimately chose) and asked for the best natural stone flooring guy in the area and every single one said
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and his crew. I have to say, the results lived up to the hype. More on that later...
Quick background:
Back in
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
of 2013, we had a dishwasher leak while on vacation. Ruined very expensive exotic wood flooring (Merbau) that ran wall to wall in the entire first floor. All the wood flooring in three rooms (kitchen, bathroom and office) was cupped and ruined. In addition, all the cabinets had to go. Since Merbau is now banned by the EPA in the US (thanks Obama), we knew we were not going to be able to match the existing flooring. So we made the tough decision to make the switch to Travertine in the kitchen and bath and we had the office flooring repaired with the dry boards we salvaged from the kitchen.
Of the 4 natural stone flooring guys we interviewed (all the top rated ones on the List)
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
was the ONLY one willing to go with a 1/16th grout line and he is the only installer in the state to perform the "Euro Finish." This is essentially a process for
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
polishing the floor after grouting and then working the sealer into the floor with a big machine and pads to make sure it is protected and smooth for easy cleaning and so it is nice on bare feet. I was worried the the Euro Finish was going to be a quick way to hide defects in the craftsmanship or materials. BOY WAS I WRONG.
Get this...after the floor was installed but BEFORE the grout even went in, I went to one side of the 23 ft long kitchen and slid a quarter across the floor to see if there was any lippage (I learned this was tile guy speak for uneven tiles). None. NO matter how many times or which direction I slid the quarter...it just slid across without skipping. The other installers I interviewed all said that there may be lippage with their install but the 1/8 grout lines they proposed would allow that to not be an issue. Anyway, after the floor was 100% done and grouted the quarter test worked just the same. Unbelievable job.
The crew was top notch. There were plenty of days we just left the crew here and were gone. During the backsplash install, we were not going to be there...and we were 100% comfortable with having a neighbor meet them and let them in the house to do their thing. The backsplash is BEAutiful. These are SKILLED craftsman who have done this for 10-20 years as a trade, not some guy who who a tile install class and hung out a shingle.
One of the most important things to research when deciding on an installer is how they prep the sub-floor.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
uses Ditra. That is all you need to know. It is the best uncoupling
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
on the
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and a MUST when installing any natural stone floor. None of the other guys wanted to use Ditra because it it not cheap. I did not want to spend all this money on beautiful tile only to have crack develop because I skimped on the sub-floor.
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
has been quick to answer questions about care and products to use for cleaning and occasional sealing. He is a great guy to boot. He was good enough to refer me to several local companies he has relationships with for various remodel-related work. EVERY single person who has done work at my house as a referral from
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
has been top notch.
I would not hesitate to refer
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
and his company to anyone. In hindsight...I wish I had just hired him to be the General Contractor on the whole project.
I think the price was more than fair for the quality of the materials, workmanship and professionalism.
I will post some pictures soon.

came on a weekend to give an estimate. They were able to start the job in about a week. They easily communicated through email.
This is the second time we had them work on our tile. They are very professional and easy to work with. I am thankful for the job they did both times. The tile installed 8 years ago looks new again. The first job was trouble free for 3 years as estimated by
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
.
I also know they are responsive if problems develop since the job before this one had a minor touch up and
Raleigh Tiling Experts Provider Name Locked
came over right away to solve the problem.
