    It was fine. It needed to be done when my husband could be home, and it had to be on a Thursday afternoon when he could be home, and so they worked around our schedule to make it happen. It's been raining so I haven't used it yet. They tested it. My husband is much happier with where it's placed than where it had been before, so I'm sure it's fine. And if it isn't all it would take is a phone call to have it fixed.

    Tom Bennet, his company, and every single one of his employees are the most ethical, professional, reasonably priced, above-board, easy-to-work with, honest, and excellent group I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Tom is extremely knowledgeable about everything from Horticulture to how perfectly to grade a hardscape with plant beds and he and his crew did such a tremendous job and the results are so stunning that I have family members and friends from all over the country clamoring to visit just to have a nice time in my new little oasis of green and stone on the East Side. His company has also been servicing my Condo Association since 2009 and doing it perfectly. I cannot recommend him and his team highly enough. His billing, pricing, and way of presenting them is so clear as to be a model for others. On top of that (!) he has begun a winter snow removal service that is as pure and perfect as the snow is white. You wake up in the morning and whisk!--the snow is gone from your driveway, your cars (!!), your sidewalk. Hire this company immediately!

    Doug's Lawn Care
    He did not return my call and after a couple of days, I reached out to him again. That call ended in my hanging up on him because I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me or his lack of professionalism. He later called and apologized for his behavior and we agreed to start over. I should have listened to my instincts. Doug and his crew arrived to begin and things went well for the several days the work took to complete. The yard looked amazing for 2 months. Doug did return twice to adjust the sprinkler heads for lawn areas not being reached by the sprinkler system. On August 1, 2015 I texted Doug with a picture of a lawn in deep trouble. A YEAR later we are still trying to resolve this issue. All we asked of him is to stand by his product and the work he performed. He has assured us that "all he wants is for us to be happy" I can assure all of you, we are not! Early this spring he agreed the sod needed to be replaced. He asked if he could remove a fence piece to fix the problem and was told he could. Now he refuses to answer our text messages, answer the phone or respond to emails we have sent. At this point, I felt we have no other option than to warn others of his practices. Between my wife and I we have sent approximately 26 text messages, attempted more phone calls than I can count and sent two e-mails. What few responses we have received have mostly been to chastise us for bothering him. He has been very unprofessional on several occasions and we have been left with an $8,000.00 lawn that is dead. I wish I knew how to attach a picture of what Doug's Lawn Care thinks we should be happy with. Before Doug's Lawn Care we have always been able to trust the recommendations on Angie's List. Up till now we have only used contractors and services on Angie's List, now I'm afraid that trust has been broken.

    It went about as poorly as it could have.
    1.  Appointment 1.
    I took off time from work. The guy never showed up.  
    2.  Appointment 2.
    I took time off form work again.  The guy didn't show up....again.  I called Penny and to her credit she got him out to the house.  Having already walked back to work, I headed back home again.  When I arrived, I found him digging up my yard, not close to the vicinity of my sprinkler system.  I told him that he was digging in the wrong place and he explained that he saw some rubber piping (it was the trim around some bushes to hold mulch) and thought it was the broken pipe.  Directing him to the correct spot he located the broken pipe and told me he wasn't sure if he had that size fitting.  He took a piece of it with him to check with his boss.
    3.  Failing to get back to me, I had the pipe repaired by another company.  I scheduled a service appointment to close down my system for winter.  They send out the same guy again, though Penny had promised they'd send me someone else as I wasn't happy to have been stood up twice by him already.  He preceded to blow out the system.  in doing so, he not only broke the pipe I'd just repaid but two additional zones.  I asked him if he used to much pressure and he mumbled something in response.  Shockingly he wanted to be paid despite the damage he had done.  Frankly, I'd had enough of the whole company, paid him just to be rid of them.
    Penny was very apologetic over the phone but she had been all along.  Her apologies never manifest in a solution or better service.  As a result, I can't possibly recommend this company to anyone.  I'm open to the possibility that it really was just one incompetent employee.  Fair enough. However, the fact that the same guy managed to botch my job 3 different times speaks to a failure of the organization as a whole.

    Literally my worst experience with any service provider... perhaps any human being ever.
    Because I never sued him as I should have, I don't feel it's appropriate to expound on the details of this terrible experience, but I suggest you not have him provide any service to you unless you personally monitor every minute of the work.

    I would say they've been satisfactory. They came out and does the lawn inspection for me. They replaced certain parts that has been damaged. I liked them pretty much. He's generally responsive and I don't have a problem. I think he's a responsible person with the respect. I would use them in the future.

    The las time, a few weeks ago I called and left a message I was having a problem with the system.. No return call. My lawn was very dry and brown and I decided to call another company D and D. After reading the one review on Angie's list, I hope I didn't make a mistake.

    Installation was fine.  Follow up to have them turn on and off the system even though we were paying for the service was horrendous.  Many many calls to their office were made on deaf ears.  We were told that they would be there on a specific date and they never showed up.  I would never recommend this company.

    He set the system to come on at 4:00 p.m. not 4:00 a.m. I was happy with his work he just isn't very good at getting back to you. He is punctual when he does get back to you. The price was very good.
