    AJ Drywall & Plastering
This was our 1st time needing damage - repair services, thus our first time working w/ Joe & his crew. Joe made for a greatly stress-reduced situation. Results still hold - 9 years later. Called him to work the other end of house 6 years later. All is good. Now, we are preparing for a voluntary remodel in kitchen. Who are we going to call? Joe-wall-busters!!! That's who!!! I hope you are still working it Joe!

I had a insulation put into my attic place. The sales rep was very informative, the work was done well and the clean up was good. There was a lot of communication between the office and myself and they kept me in the loop with everything. I would recommend the company to anyone looking too get work done on their home!

    Ark Home Improvement
We received quotes from multiple contractors to update our attic which previous homeowners finished in the early 1970s. Of all the contractors we talked with, Noah, the owner of Ark Home Improvement, was the most responsive, punctual and friendly. He even spent a few hours with us the first time he came out to the house for the quote and really listened to how we planned to use the space and what our future house, work and life plans were. In the end, he suggested some things that were different from (and less expensive than) what we'd been thinking, but his ideas made a lot of sense and we really appreciated his input, so we went with what he suggested. Throughout the remodel Noah and his team were extremely punctual, helpful and respectful, they cleaned up after themselves everyday, made sure any questions we had were answered and finished the job on budget and in about 3/4 of the time we'd planned for. We love our new attic/home office. We've worked with other contractors for previous projects (kitchen renovation, etc.), but none of them came close to the job that Ark Home Improvement did. Noah and his team will definitely be our go-to contractors for any and all future home projects.

    Calyx Homes Ltd
in both cases, Calyx was professional, on time, attentive to our needs, and responsive in the rare case where we had concerns. Were they the cheapest quote? not always, but I am willing to pay for excellent work, and Calyx worked to that standard. I would not hesitate to call them for any future project and I routinely recommend them to friends.

    Calyx Homes Ltd
I have waited for a year to leave this review simply because we had such horrible experience with another contractor 10 years ago that I wanted to make sure nothing fell apart after a couple of seasons. I can now say with all confidence that the renovations Calyx completed on our house were/are exemplary. When it comes to renovations, you get what you pay for and Calyx exceeded all of our expectations. The owner Bob Brierley is extremely professional. He's local and very knowledgeable about old (1914) finicky New England houses and was patient and gave honest answers to all of our questions. Our renovation was completed quickly and on time. He worked with us to stay within our budget, provided us with a full written contract stipulating exactly what they were going to do and when each phase would be completed - and they did everything they said they were going to do. He also provided all his insurance documents which gives you piece of mind. Our foreman Jim, was amazing and a pleasure to have in our home. For ten years we were so afraid of having any work done because we were one of those families you hear about that lived through a hellish renovation that went on forever and ended up costing over 5 times what we had budgeted for, just to have it fall apart within a few years. This will NOT be the case if you hire Calyx. Right from your first contact with Kathy Macchioni in the office you will be pleasantly surprised. We highly recommend Calyx Builds, Bob Brierley and his team for any renovation or new building project you may be considering. They did a fabulous job. Expect to pay a little more than the other quotes you may gather but they're worth every penny. You truly do get what you pay for.

    RISE ENGINEERING
Because it's a multi-unit they have to have permission from the executive board which is me and 4 other people the offer to come in and insulate the units. Each individual or unit don't have to pay up to a maximum of like $272. They come in, they throw 9.5 inches of insulation in your attic, they air seal everything in your garage and basement so that no air can leak in or out that's not supposed to. Obviously our heating system needs a vent to vent out into the atmosphere but the rest of it you should not be having any weather stripping problems with the doors. They did phenomenal work. Since I've done it in July I noticed that my air conditioner is not running to beat the band and I'm pretty sure right now I've been chilly all day and I've just had the doors closed and the windows closed. My heat did not need to kick on, my home is holding the temperature. They also give you energy efficient light bulbs, new thermostat, programmable thermostat which is like an $80 item. They do a power strip for your TV and stuff you want on all the time and the rest of it is on standby so that you're saving energy. So far I've noticed huge change even in my invoicing from the utility companies. They are phenomenal in professionalism. I was amazed at what they did and I actually wrote a commendation to the company stating what fabulous work and the workers are so polite, very courteous, respectful and professional. I'm very impressed with the work that they've done here in the property. I would highly recommend them for other complex or private homes.

They were great and they were awesome. They did a fantastic job. It was great. He was better than some people that I have used locally. He's the first one from Angie's List that I have used. He gave me a great price. He was really great to work with. I would totally recommend them. He was just very prompt. He's really easy to work with and he's very professional. He was really familiar with all the things I was asking him to look at and do. He's confident. As soon as I met him, I knew it would happen. I'm going to hire them again. They were right on time and they did everything all in one day.

    ATLAS INSULATION CO
No problem with insulation. My problems were that the crew left plastic wrap covered with spray foam on one side of my addition. Their truck burnt a 2' diameter hole in my new lawn, and I have spray foam on my lattice the surrounds the bottom of addition. I waited for a follow up call from the company to ask if I was satisfied with the work performed. No call was made , just a receipt in the mail. I never called the company about it either. My feeling is if they cared they would of followed up with a call seeing no one was home at time of the work, so don't think they would of cared if I called to complain. Same way on sale of the job. No set date to do the work, was called the afternoon before , when told them I would need 2 days to open up a area so they could gain access. Overall the works seems fine although I won't know till winter. But clean up and no follow up put a bad taste in my mouth as far as calling them to do more work.

    Eco Energy Guard LLC
    Comprehensive residential insulation project:
Throughout the process and up to the final results, this was an  O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G  J-O-B   carried out by conscientious professionals with extraordinary attention to detail.
My wife, son and I could not be more pleased with the quality of the insulation project in the attic and basement of our Victorian southern New England home.  Bill Brown listened carefully to exactly what we wanted, told us that everything we asked for was possible, and then delivered on his commitment.  What a rare and pleasant experience in this age of slap-dash, in-and-out-as-fast-as-possible contractors.
The attention to detail of their hard-working team (we had Dean, Devan and Bill, the company owner) yielded precisely the results we had hoped for.  The job has certainly more than met our expectations. The high standards of both materials and installation were top-notch.  The entire family agrees  that their efforts are worth every penny and we look forward to reaping the rewards of their tireless labor through a warmer home (in winter) and cooler environment (in summer) and, of course, reduced heating and cooling bills in the months ahead.
We are delighted to publicly thank Bill and his crew for completing our project on budget, with exceptional, courteous service, very high quality materials and, of particular concern to us, within the agreed-upon time frame.
The state-of-the-art reflective residential insulation materials (all fabricated in the USA) were delivered in advance ready for immediate use in the project upon the crew's arrival.  From the time they arrived to the time they cleaned up and departed, they all worked non-stop!  The guys worked steadily, with no loud music or trivial banter:  they just got stuck into the work and stayed with it until everything was completed.
Each step of the project was explained to us in advance and the company did not deviate from the plan.  No hype.  No unfulfilled promises.  When I strolled through the project areas, they welcomed me and enthusiastically demonstrated each stage of the project and the rationale for it.
This company is thoroughly ethical and trustworthy.  We would definitely hire them again and recommend them unreservedly to Angie's List members (and will do so to our friends and neighbors as well).
The company earns a very solid "A."  Theirs will not be the cheapest quote you will get.  But the value for money quotient is high. That old adage, "You get what you pay for," certainly holds true in this case.  We firmly believe that we got what we paid for... and then some.
The installation is among the very best I have seen in any home.
