The actual dentist was really nice but the office staff are not very friendly and are not very helpful. They called to confirm the appointment and left me a message. When I called back to confirm our appointment, the lady sounded almost annoyed that I was calling her and confused by what I was calling for. It was like she didn't get the names right or like she got the last name but not the first names correct. Other than that, they are pretty good. Punctuality was fine.

After good and bad experiences at a few other places, I ended up here after asking around while visiting various specialists for treatment.  D'Amato has been great.  Friendly, easy to talk to, and has done good work so far.

I had a cavity below the gum line in one of my front teeth. He had to cut part of the gum to get to the cavity and then put in a temporary filling because the bleeding from the gum would have stained the permanent filling. I returned in a couple of weeks to get the permanent filling done. My tooth and gum feel fine now.

Dr. Stephenson is an excellent dentist. I have been going there for many years now. His staff is excellent and very friendly. I've

never had an issue with him or his staff.

I had a very good experience. I've been going to them for about 10 years. The hygienist was thorough and didn't hurt. She was very pleasant and easy to talk to and deal with. She explained things about what she was looking at, if needed.

There was a time when they open late to provide care. It was an emergency situation with a broken tooth. They were closing at 5:00 and they stayed there until 6:00. We were there until around 7:00 and that was several years ago, so I've been going there ever since. They always try to make appointments happen. They were upfront with all the costs.

Everything is usually pretty good. I had my upper teeth implanted and they did a very good job. It's okay. I never had a problem there. When I've got a problem, I can get in and they will fix it. They will take me without questions. They're on the ball. They're very good, efficient, a little pricy but it is worth the money.

His entire staff is amazing!  They're very responsive and punctual. I go every 6 months for a cleaning and I'll definitely stay with them.  I've never had any serious work done, but they've always been good with cavities, etc.

Dr. Conforti is literally the best dentist I have ever had. He goes out of his way to make you feel comfortable and explains everything in great detail. The dental hygienist was also very thorough and extremely polite. All of the staff there are accessible and make the whole experience comfortable. The practice is not an in-network provider with insurance, but they handle all of the claims for reimbursement for you -- for me, there is a net out-of-pocket expense (about $40 or so for a cleaning, I think), but it is well worth the cost (and depending on your particular insurance, may not have a net cost at all). I recommend this practice to all of my friends and will continue being a patient here for as long as I live in Providence.

I switched to a different dentist because his office canceled appointments on me at least three times. When I have a dentist/doctor appointment, I have to arrange coverage at work and so it was not acceptable for me that they kept on doing this. Always at the last minute too. He was very nice, I had no issue with him as a person. Also, he put in a filling for me in a back tooth and the filling just broke. I had to have my new dentist fix it. However, the original filling was only put in 3 or 4 years ago!

Be careful.  This dentist is a very friendly and seemingly trustworthy fellow.  However, before going to him, I had only a handful of fillings in my lifetime.  I brush and floss twice a day.  But every time I went in for an exam, he ended up filling 2 to 4 cavities (receiving about $250 for each one, between insurance and me).  Additionally, every time I went in, he pressured me to get a custom night mouthguard, saying that, undeniably, I was grinding my teeth at night.  (Dentists can make up to $1,000 from fitting/creating a night guard.)  I never actually did the night guard, but I thought about it.
I have a generally high level of trust in medical/dental professionals and it took me two whole years to come to my senses and realize something might be wrong.  During my final appointment with him, he told me I had 3 cavities ("areas of decay") to fill, and that again I very seriously needed a night mouth guard.  I finally sought out second and third opinions.  I visited two other highly rated dentists in the area, and both of them told me there was NOTHING WRONG with my teeth -- no cavities, and no compelling evidence of teeth grinding at night.  Needless to say, I switched dentists immediately.
My wife, who also started going to this dentist at the same time as I did, had the same experience.  Very good dental hygiene habits, no prior cavities/fillings in her lifetime.  First visit with him: 4 to 5 fillings needed (which we did and paid for).  Every other visit afterward, at least one filling.  She switched dentists when I switched, and afterward she has had no cavities whatsoever.
I will leave it up to readers to interpret this information as they will.  Dentistry is a trade characterized by a high degree of practice variation -- meaning that different dentists will have different opinions on work that needs to be done on any given patient.  So, one could interpret his work as being more meticulous or careful than others'.  However, such variation also creates opportunities for some practitioners to take advantage of trusting patients -- as I believe this fellow is doing quite handily (and all while being extremely friendly).  Not only did it cost me and my insurance thousands of dollars, but I now have 10+ more holes drilled in my teeth than I might have had I gone somewhere else originally.
