    CHEAPER SWEEPER CHIMNEY SPEC
I found Cheaper Sweeper through Angie's List, and gave them a call to ask about a consultation on installing a stove into my existing fireplace. Mike was able to make a great rough assessment of how the chimney was functioning from a google image search, and explained exactly why I was experiencing poor draft. He spent half an hour of his time walking me through my options, providing a ballpark figure for the work, and providing general guidance on how to proceed with my project. Without a doubt, he is the most knowledgeable professional I've spoken to, and has a deep understanding of pellet stoves, installs, maintenance and system design. This is the guy you want to use.

Chris did an excellent job diagnosing and explaining our roof leak origins. He matched the old shingles and replaced the chimney flashing in a timely and expert fashion. His communication leading up to the job was the best possible. I will keep him in mind for future roof, skylight, and chimney needs, and he receives my highest recommendation.

North American Chimney & Gutter Corp
They came and measured chimneys on the first visit (2 large chimneys, three stories up). Caps were delivered a week or so later. They came back and installed them. Professional and punctual. Answered all of my questions. Great to work with.

    Ark Home Improvement
Noah was a pleasure to work with and did a beautiful job renovating our sunroom, which was in terrible shape--rotting paneling and woodwork, old carpet, a ridiculous window into the living room. He and his crew were able to transform the room into a lovely, comfortable space, and do some additional work (repointing chimney, basement ceiling repairs, window calking) in a little more than a couple weeks. He came up with creative solutions to address the woodwork problem in the sunroom, and the resulting craftsmanship is perfect and looks great. He and his crew are cheerful, punctual and conscientious, and we enjoyed doing business with them. Their work is careful and professional, with constant attention to detail. We highly recommend Ark Home Improvement and intend to use them again when we are ready to redo our kitchen.

    B & R Home Improvement
The B & R team was a pleasure to work with through the whole process, from quote to paying after the job was done. We had heard water dripping onto a ceiling on our second floor during a heavy storm, and called several roofers for quotes. Five different companies came out, two of which wanted to replace the whole roof, and three that said it should just be repaired. During that process, several of the companies mentioned that our chimney needed repointing as well, so we added that to the job. Robert Jr. came out for B & R on a Monday after I had spoken with them on a Friday, and I had detailed quotes in my email that night for the work. They were quick to respond to questions by email, text, and phone. Once I got them the signed contract, they were in touch within the week to get the work scheduled, and had their mason and roofing team on site two weeks after I had gotten them the contract. A day and a half later, I had a beautifully repointed chimney with a cap, rotted wood around the base of the chimney replaced, perfect flashing, and a roof that no longer leaks at all. The team kept me informed throughout the process, letting me know about any issues they encountered and keeping me posted on their timelines. After they were done, they cleaned up the site completely (and even cleaned up the leaves and sticks that were in the driveway from a recent storm). The final price came in just slightly over the original quote because they had to replace more wood than they were originally expecting around the base of the chimney - it took more materials and more time than what was covered under the original estimate, but only cost a little more than the quote. All in all a great process, and I'd highly recommend Robert Jr. and the team at B & R for any roofing or chimney related work that you need.

North American Chimney & Gutter Corp
We got quotes from the top three chimney cleaners on Angie's List and chose North American Chimney because they were $50 cheaper than the other two. When we made an appointment with them to have the chimney and flues cleaned, I explained that we owned the three-family house but did not live there and would have to get permission from the tenants to enter their apartments, and that we would be driving 50 miles to get to the property from where we reside. They gave me a window of 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and we arrived at the property around 10:30 am because the scheduler said we would be on the early side of that 3-hour window. At 12:45 when they still hadn't arrived I called the dispatcher and asked if he knew when the technicians would be arriving as we were getting hungry and wanted to grab some lunch. He assured me that we were next on the list and they should be arriving soon, so we kept waiting. At 1:20 the dispatcher called and said the technicians had been called to an emergency appointment (a chimney emergency? Is there such a thing?) and wouldn't be able to get to us that day. We explained again that we had both taken the day off, driven 50 miles, gotten permission to enter from our tenants, and waited nearly 3 hours for them to show up, but he said there was nothing he could do about it and would have to reschedule. Needless to say, we told him "no thank-you" and have made an appointment with another company.

It went well. Noah responded to all my calls quickly. He came to give an estimate and talked through all the details of the job. He started the work a few days later. I did have a brief question after he completed the job, and he's answered that question promptly. I found him to be a very friendly and professional person.

North American Chimney & Gutter Corp
I responded to a telemarketing call from North American Chimney advertising their special to clean the chimney for $49.95. They came on 1/18/18 right on time. After inspection the men told me they couldn't use brushes because I have a brick chimney and it would damage the bricks. I asked if they could put a new cap on and they gave me an estimate. I asked them to check the damper which they said had debris behind it so they couldn't open it. I don't use the fireplace so no problems there. They did use a vacuum to clean the connector from the boiler to the wall. They left without any further recommendations or additional comments. I continued to receive telemarketing calls from them and I mentioned that I was not happy with their service because I paid for a chimney sweep and the men said they couldn't do it. I did receive a couple of follow up calls where I was told that they had pulled the paperwork and that my chimney was in fact cleaned but with a vacuum from the bottom up. They offered to send someone out to my home to explain this to me and show me. I thanked them and said I didn't see what good that would do because the men who came out did show me the inside of the chimney and explained why they couldn't do it. The call I got that made me angry was when I was still talking and the person hung up on me. I then decided to put comments online. I placed a comment on their Face Book page and got a response from Dave Jarret who said that I had been told many times that my chimney could not be swept because "there is nothing to sweep" and needed immediate relining. Well, that is just not true. He did not address any of the issues I posted. He said that their company is award winning and they stand behind their work. Well, the work needs to be performed first before you can stand behind it. No one said anything about relining, they only tried to convince me that my chimney had been cleaned. One of the people who called me referred me to Angie's list so here I am. I see the very positive comments by most people here but that has not been my experience with North American Chimney. To their credit they did respond several times by phone. At least now I know that I am not crazy and they really did not clean the chimney as they said they did by Dave's own admission. I find it hard to recommend a company that contradicts itself and says things that just are not based in reality. I recommend to others that they get other estimates and opinions from other reputable Chimney Companies before hiring North American Chimney. I know Dave Jarret will probably respond again to this review and I wonder what his comments will be???
