This company was almost 3 months out when I made my appointment. But I went with them anyhow - they were the clear choice. I kind of geeked out (researching as best as I could) about the options out there for seismic upgrade. I feel lucky to have picked these guys as one of my three contractors to bid... they were the middle bid (with the other bids being quite wild in the high and low directions!). Big bonus for coming up with the right physics answers. (Really, it's surprising to see the variation of "opinions" out there regarding what is needed to hold your house together in case of THE BIG ONE.)
Then, it was actually quite shocking when I called two days before our scheduled appointment and they said they were planning on being there at 8AM on they day they scheduled! They were able to keep to their schedule for three months with no surprises coming up?!
So they showed up, and everything went great. Super diligent work crew. I would send any of my friends to them.

The job went very well. Provider name locked. came out initially to bid the project and returned to rebid with an expanded project scope. On the day of the project, the crew arrived promptly at 8:15 am and stayed until 6:30 pm to complete all of the demo and strapping work. They took care of the permit drawings and inspection the next day. The drywall took a few days because we discovered a plumbing issue, but the crew returned and matched the walls perfectly so you couldn't tell the difference. The job site was kept clean and well organized and the construction waste was stacked neatly outside and disposed of after the project. I would recommend Provider name locked. for the quality and efficiency of their work.- Marmot & Bull P.
Provider name locked. , the owner, came out and spent a good deal of time examining our basement and explaining what a basic retrofit for insurance purposes would entail and also gave us additional seismic upgrade options.
He sent the bid about a week later and it seemed reasonable, so we didn't pursue other bids. We opted to go beyond what homeowner's insurance required since it was only an additional $800.
We spent an afternoon or two moving our stuff away from walls and support posts so that they could easily get to them. He said there was no need to move all of our bookcases out of the way. We covered much of our items in plastic but, in the end, there was minimal concrete dust generated (they vacuum as they drill) so, in our case, this was probably an unnecessary step.
His crew of three came about a month after our initial contact and completed the work in less than a day. We were home at the time, and it was noisy, as he had warned, but certainly no worse than being re-roofed. The inspector came the next day and signed off on their work. Then Provider name locked. came by a couple of days later to do the final walk-thru and saw some things he thought his crew had missed. So a week after the initial work, he sent one crew member out to add a bit more bracing. We really appreciated his thoroughness.
Overall we were pleased with their work and would recommend that anyone thinking about retrofitting just have it done. A few days of inconvenience sure beats the long-term inconvenience and huge cost of having your house bounce off its foundation when the "big one" hits.
