Dr. Castle and her staff are wonderful. Dr. Castle calls after any surgical procedure to go over what has taken place. I know I can call with any questions about my pet's care. The cost seems reasonable. It is a small practice and I feel like they know my dog and will treat her well.

Dr. Erin Castle, DVM and the animal care staff at Portland Animal Clinic provide excellent animal care services. We had a diabetic cat that had difficulties with chronic pancreatitis. Dr. Castle and staff went the extra 100 miles in their thorough and compassionate care for our Ellie. Sadly, she passed with grace. They are still caring for our two cats. I can recommend their services without reservation.

My husband and I had been having anxiety about picking a vet and kept putting it off until one of our cats got a bad tooth and we needed to get him care right away. We were able to schedule him in quickly, and they took very good care of him. They were concerned he might have bone cancer due to some mineralization in his jaw, and they recommended we get some lab work and testing done, which we did, and we scheduled him for a teeth cleaning and another tooth removal. The testing all came back normal, thank goodness, and they called us right away with the results. Each step of the way, they made sure we were aware of the cost of everything that was needed or recommended, and although the bill for all of that ended up being quite large, we had A LOT of work done for our poor kitty, and it all felt reasonable, and we were made aware of it ahead of time instead of getting sticker shock at the end. Dr. Dykehouse was never pushy, but told us what the options were and what he recommended, and let us decide. Our cat is doing much better now, although he now resembles Toothless the dragon even more than he did before. I have also taken one of our other cats in for a regular checkup and vaccinations and our final kitty is scheduled to go in as well. Everyone is super friendly, very informative, and I feel like our cats are being very well taken care of. I am able to go in the office with my cats and Dr. Dykehouse talks to me while he does the exam so the cats are more comfortable, and I have more time to ask questions. I am so happy we decided to go with Argay Cat Clinic and will be bringing our fur babies there for the foreseeable future.

The staff at East Portland Vet and owner Dr. Zehendner have cared for my dog for many years. Some people in the veterinary profession are afraid of large dogs, particularly certain breeds. Dr. Zehendner and staff are always so sweet with my dog and have never acted fearful around her or treated her differently due to her breed or size. It's easy to schedule an appointment, their quick to fill medicines and they are accommodating if you're pet isn't socialized with cats, etc. As my dog has aged, she has gotten fearful of leaving the house and they've helped with that to make sure her quality of life is as good as possible in the sunset years. He has performed two surgeries on her in the last eight years, both of which went great. They are always professional, caring, reasonably priced and knowledgeable. When I thought my dog had cancer, the staff called to check on me knowing I was so upset! How sweet is that? When Dr. Zehendner retires, I will be so sad because I trust him completely with my best friend! My dog loves him and always loved going to the office because she knew her friends were there and that they would be giving her treats and pets.

I've got four pets, so it's probably every month or every other month that I'm in there. I don't recall the price. They go out of their way to explain in layman's terms medical happenings. So, they're just real good at explaining things.

I had faith in Dr Henry that she would do the right thing and make the right calls. I saw her several times. We did an ultra sound on the dog because he's a really good eater then he started not wanting to eat which was a huge red flag. We did everything we could do. I think she wasn't sure where to go other than his blood work was showing problems with his lymphocyte count. She was looking for where to go.

They are good people. I've had some problems. I don't like all the veterinarians there. I like one of the veterinarians there. I have a hard time getting in so that's a little frustrating for me.  I have a dog that was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma which is normally very deadly. This vet went out of her way. She got him involved in a study at Colorado state at Fort Collins. I had to do the blood work but they paid for the shipment because they wanted his blood.   He came back with something called Kinase lymphoma which is real non aggressive lymphoma so the chances are that I’ll have him for a normal lifespan.  She went to the trouble to look around and see if there was anything available for him because he’s a Golden Retriever. There’s a lot of them people like them. I appreciate that she went out of her way. I’m sure there's a way for vets to look to see if there’s anything like that ongoing. The doctor's name is Kandace Henry. I wouldn't let her touch my dog if she wasn't good. She was great and I liked her very much. The only negative is getting an appointment to get in to see her. I find that very frustrating.

They are great with my animals. My cat is a very mean and frightened when she is there and they do a great job with her. I am fine with not going in the back room with my cat. I think it would be fine if I were to go back but I think it is just easier.

Everything went as planned. Dr. Tran met with us in the morning when we dropped off our cats, she did a quick look at there mouths an told us what she would be doing with cleaning an extractions and then provided us with a detailed invoice for each cat. They contacted us after each cats procedure to give us an update and a time when we could pick them up. Dr. Tran met with us again when we picked up our cats an gave us an overall review on how the procedures went an also showed us each cats dental ex rays and went over those with us. She also went over instructions for that night an what to look for in the next 10 days or so. Everything Went well.

I have always trusted Banfield Veterinary Hospital with my pets health care. They provide excellent service both to me and my animals. I appreciate that they will fits us in for appointments when the need arises and they always consult with me prior to doing any procedures including the need for the procedure and/or the cost involved. I have carried the health insurance plan they offer for many years and have saved quite a bit over the time I have had the coverage for my animals. I would recommend their services highly.
