    Honl Tree Care Inc
This is the third time we've worked with Honl Tree Care, and we'll continue to do so in the future because they are the best. Pricing is competitive, they are local to our part of town, contribute to local non-profits, and - most importantly - they do *great* work. We had a full-sized (and invasive) English holly tree in our side yard that became too large and was damaging our siding, as well as killing all of the grass below, and distributing invasive berries. We hated having to remove the tree, but it was needed and very happy with the speed and quality of Honl's work. We also hired them to grind the stump, and you'd never know that a tree was once there.

    The Arborist
It went great. Brent was so professional and so competitive in his pricing. He came right on time and cleaned everything up. He also helped clean up some limbs that were above our roofline. In addition he provided us advice on our trees and how to trim so low lying branches on a smaller tree. I would highly recommend Brent and his company!

    Wind Thin Tree Service Inc
These guys were amazing. Removed a 70 year-old silver maple in minimal time. Competitively priced. I highly, highly recommend them. Incidentally, I used an "Angie's List Recommended" company to prune the same tree a year prior and had a horrible experience. Consider the fact that these companies pay Angie's List to promote their companies and that is why they rank higher on the list....not always b/c they perform a better service. At least, that was my experience.

    HILLSIDE LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE, INC
We have been with Hillside for approximately 8 years. Their service is unrivaled. We tried another yard service early in the relationship and came back to Hillside. Bret & Amy, are responsive and aim to treat you like a priority. We have a yard that requires care and horticulture knowledge. They have provided A1 service at all times and for any special projects we have. Dont take my word for it, give them a try and you will be thoroughly pleased with the results!

    URBAN FOREST PRO
At least a dozen trees in my backyard are in very bad shape. 2 were dead. The employee (or owner?) came out one day for the assessment and said the insects could be treated. He said he would inject the trees with insecticide. Not knowing what could be done, and not having any alternative (except after a 2 week wait for just a contact call), I agreed to the treatment. He injected most of them with something, and then said he was out and could not finish them all. He said he hoped he could be back in 2 weeks or so, and then mentioned another individual as being responsible for the supplies. I said my trees couldn't wait that long. I called the office in a couple of days, and they called back in a week or so and said he would bring more. I asked that I be present if he was on the property working. He showed up about a week and a half later without telling me he was on the property, and I realized he was in the back yard when he was almost done. The employee did not want discuss the situation, and I do not know the following: (1) Whether the insecticide used had proven to be effective in this type of situation (2) Whether the trees have any chance of surviving. (3) Whether the insecticide presents any hazard to the surrounding area, and the animals (including humans) in the area. (4) Any long term effects that might occur from the insecticide. The bill was $1,500. I don't mind paying the bill, I just am not sure what I paid for. I believe the biggest error in this transaction was lack of effective communication with the customer (me) and I am not sure what I got for my money. I also have 2 dead trees, I will get someone else to fell them.

    Spiral Tree LLC
I hired Spiral Tree Service twice and have been very pleased both times. The price seems reasonable and the quality of the work is great. Two years ago there was a box elder tree that was leaning. I figured it would have to come out, but owner, Paithen, assessed it and determine that it could be safely pruned and staked. Since we like the tree we went that route. Two years later, I re-hired them and Paithen again checked the safety of the tree and determined its roots were holding and the stake was also doing its job. So, again we could safely prune it. He also pruned the other trees on the property and I'm confident they will contiunue to grow and be healthy. Also the pruning he did with a pine tree now allows the plants on the ground to get better sunlight as well. Overall, I recommend them and plan to hire them again in 1-2 years.

    Pacific Northwest Arborists Inc
They did a great job and cleaned up afterwards. All the men were polite and worked hard. I've had a lot of tree trimmers through the years, and one that claimed to know what he was doing, caused us to have to remove our beautiful maple that took up half the back yard. This was the third time I used them. The guys at Pacific Northwest Arborists Inc are very knowledgeable, and will quote you a fair price.

For The Love Of Trees, LLC
I cannot say enough positive things about this company. The communication was excellent from the initial assessment of work to be done, scheduling the crew and follow-up afterwards. Jeremy and his crews are true professional arborists and experts at tree management. Many large branches were skillfully removed and lowered to the ground in sections without causing any damage to the surrounding landscape. Their clean-up was impeccable. The crew chief, John, went out of his way to provide on-site assessment of the health of an ailing mature oak. This will definately be my "go to" professionals for all future management of the many trees on my 1/2 acre lot.

    Monkeymans Tree Service
I talked with the neighbor and they agreed that I could take the large limbs that extended out beyond the drip line, but they wanted to keep the tree for privacy. James worked with me and determined exactly what would be done that would improve light to my own yard while not disfiguring nor hurting the tree. Donny, another arborist, did the actual cutting and was particular about not cutting arbitrarily along a sight line, but at limb junctures that would not hurt the tree's growth but would allow more light into my yard. From their side of the tree, the neighbors couldn't even tell that the tree had been trimmed! And now my young maple tree gets light on all sides, and my flowers and shrubs in my front yard get light on more sides and more hours in the day. Monkeymans is a very professional group of arborists who know Portland-area laws about trees and property rights, and who know their different kinds of trees and how to trim them. If you want it done right, by a company who pays their employees fairly and covers all of their employees' insurance (not just one or two workers), these are the guys. They're not the cheapest - but they are the best, and you won't find yourself paying more in legal trouble afterwards.

    Green Sky Tree Services
I was very impressed with Green Sky Tree Service. Juan and his team came in and were very respectful of the property, careful about safety for themselves and my neighbor's yard, and went above and beyond the bid by cutting up the wood for my fireplace. I would highly recommend them!
