  • My 2004 Honda Odyssey transmission started slipping at 125,000 after being serviced by my regular mechanic.  The mechanic recommended a transmission shop in Vancouver.  I took the car there, the shop owner was aware of a transmission problem with that generation of Odyssey.  He said the only fix was a rebuilt transmission for $4000.  I did internet research and found out Honda had transmission problems with that model and had even established an unadvertised warranty program.  But my vehicle was now beyond that second warranty program.  I checked Angies list to find someone for a second opinion.  Found Provider name locked. near my house.  Met the owner, Provider name locked. , friendly, knowledgeable guy.  He knew all about Honda's misadventure with those transmissions.  He explained they had used light weight parts for the power of the engine and  the loaded weight of the van.  The parts would crumble and pieces would collect in the transmission fluid Provider name locked. , when you have the transmission serviced, it would stir up the crumbled pieces and they would be swept by the fluid into the small fluid channels causing the transmission to gum up and fail.  My experience exactly.  He said the transmission didn't need to be replaced; it could be cleaned out and stronger, after Provider name locked. parts, could be put in.  He quoted me $2300 and would have it done by the end of the week.  Provider name locked. lived up to his word.  I got the car back on time and within budget.  A couple days later I got a transmission fault light.  Took it back to Provider name locked. .  He kept it overnight.  Got it back the next day, an original pressure sensor had failed.  No charge from Provider name locked. .  A couple days later the same light came on again.  Took it back to Provider name locked. .  Kept it overnight.  Got it back the next day.  Provider name locked. said the replacement part  had turned out to be faulty from the factory.  Again, no charge.  Have been driving since with no problems.  Provider name locked. was straight up and easy to deal with and stood by his work.  Great price too.  I was so impressed, when our child from LA drove his family up to visit us and told me about his mechanic hearing a noise coming from the transmission on his van, I insisted we take it to Provider name locked. to be checked out.  He reluctantly agreed.  The next day Provider name locked. reported there was a failing bearing and it was grinding down the 3rd gear drive shaft.  Provider name locked. quoted three days and $1900.  We got the van back on time and within budget.  Even our son's wife noticed how quiet the car now drove.  They made it back to LA no problem and continue to drive the van without problems.  I highly recommend Provider name locked. for their competence, reasonable price and ease of dealing with them.

  • Provider name locked. ’s has been under the same family for all of the forty years that we have used them.  We are now almost personal friends, so we get very very good mechanical care.  They stand behind it all.  We are happy with their price.

  • I believe they did an excellent job. I was the one needing to have a little patience as sometimes due to the multiple codes in the car showing up. They could only work on one thing at a time. So if this happens that their are multiple codes showing up they will let you know and it may take some time to get it fixed. They were very good to work with and even my neighbor had her daughter go, they fixed her car within the day and charged very little. They are great guys and obviously stive to make their customers happy. Thanks again guys!
