  • I was moving out of one home and storing my things with Provider name locked. till I was ready to move into my new home. They were an hour late, but still charged me for that time.  They didn't pick-up all of the things that they were supposed to pick-up and then after the move they presented me with a bill for $900.  They did not have these charges pre-approved or even let me know there would be extra charges. They ran out of moving pads and had to call the main office to have more sent over.  During this time they stopped working but still charged me for this time. They now have all of my things and are holding it till I pay this exuberant fee.  The deal came with 3 months of storage for free, they then started charging me $49.67 a month.  Again without notifying me they started charging me $200 a month.  When I asked about this fee, they said it was a promotion and that the promotion was over.  They said this was in the agreement but no where is this stated.  Definitely the worst service provider on Angie's List.

  • Over the weekend I was with a group of 6 people with trucks that were helping a widow move her items out of a storage unit in Provider name locked. .  We had the trucks lined up and were going to start loading them. A man "Provider name locked. " from the office came rushing over in a mobile scooter and started yelling at us.  He almost ran over a 5 year old in our party. When we told him to be careful he told everyone in the party to get off his private property and that he was calling the police. We told him it was fine if he called the police and that we would leave. Everyone got in their vehicles and started to leave as requested and he closed the gates and locked everyone in.  He wanted on the other side of the gate in his scooter mocking everyone in trucks. We told him at this point you cannot lock people into this storage facility.


    The police officer showed up and helped get the gates open and told us we had done nothing wrong and allowed us to finish moving this widow (who was with us and had gone into the office to explain details about Provider name locked. to other workers in the office).  The new owner of this business is Provider name locked. and I would imagine he would be horrified by the way the volunteer movers were treated on Saturday December 6th 2014.  Among the volunteers moving this widows property was a real estate agent and a mortgage broker and I can assure you they plan to share this experience with every client they have.


    I want to share this story and frankly am horrified that this worker chose to close the gate and lock in the patrons waiting for police. Buyer beware. I saw several other storage facilities along the same road so I would recommend any potential clients move along to the next storage facility along that stretch. Stay far away from Provider name locked. . Thankfully all the widows items were safely to her garage and she will be able to end her relationships with this facility.

  • I am currently using a PODS storage container while working on multiple home improvement projects.  While I am very pleased with the ability to store items on-site, I could not be unhappier with PODS' business practices and the lack of assistance I am receiving from their corporate office.   I have a rental agreement that states a specific rate per month of storage, but am being charged more (via automatic debit card payment) for every additional month I keep the unit.  My order confirmation/summary of charges itemizes only one price per month of rental with absolutely NO indication that the price will climb for each additional month.  PODS claims that this upcharge is mentioned on the website, yet my contract with them clearly lists only a monthly rental fee.   BEWARE of dealing with PODS!  I have received nothing but snarky attitudes and the runaround when contacting the corporate office for an adjustment. p.s.  I used a coupon code when I signed up for PODS and was overcharged with my first payment.  Fortunately, I was reimbursed for that initial overcharge with only a mild scolding for trying out various combinations of coupon codes prior to deciding which was the best value, entering my debit card information and scheduling my rental.
