    Brian Bray DDS,DMD,PC
When I first met Dr. Bray I was ecstatic and so grateful that he would take my case. It had been a long road to find the care I need and he seemed so kind at first. I have found that doctors and dentists respond very unfavorably emotions. After I thanked him wholeheartedly, I cried tears of joy in my car that I finally found someone who said he will be able to help me. BILLING ISSUES: I saw Dr. Bray a total of 4 times. Despite him being a preferred provider, I still paid in full the first couple times because I was asked to. Normally with preferred providers you pay after insurance pays. This is tricky because in one case the maximum insurance allowable amount was less than I was charged, and preferred providers are not supposed to charge beyond that, and on the 2nd visit insurance paid the entire amount charged, but so did I at the time of the visit. See the problem? Still, I never complained since I was so thankful to even have him. There was no credit applied from the 1st to the 2nd visit at the time. After my 3rd visit, which was actually a continuation of the 2nd (so they werent supposed to charge for an office visit I was told), they billed me $681 for an occlusal guard. Insurance indicated that about $150 is reasonable and customary, but that's assuming I was told of the charge in advance and I actually had the mouth guard in my possession! I told Dr. Bray's office and MODA dental that I was never given a mouth guard, and Dr. Bray's office eventually admitted this. At the 4th (and last) appointment they told me they would bill me for that appointment since they didn't know what to charge yet. This later turned out to be charges for x-rays that I had to then redo at the endodontists office because Bray's were too blurry. Dr. Bray billed $81.20 to copy notes from a mere 4 visits. That seems excessive. I did not pay this because the lawyer said he will pay it out of his expense from the large retainer I paid him. Either way, many offices don't even bill for such a small record. ETHICAL ISSUES: Dr. Bray verbally told me that he completely understood if I was to sue my orthodontist of 14 years, who he said caused so much damage that I was his most challenging case ever. But he said he didn't want anything to do with my case in a legal situation. After my lawyer requested his records, Dr. Bray sent me a dismissal letter, claiming that I was not a compliant patient. He also said my expectations were unrealistic. And yet, no matter what he said, I was like OK, sounds good! For me, any improvement was a step in the right direction, believe me. I was never looking for perfection, I just want to save my teeth and look half way normal. This dismissal was shortly before my upcoming appointment to start a treatment plan; to me this was no coincidence. I was devastated! The alleged reasons he stated fall in line with reasons the board allows to dismiss a patient, but are not at all true in my case. Non-compliant? Let's examine this claim. I was always on time. I paid my first bills early. I was kind and respectful to him and his staff. He told me to go out and get a tooth checked out for a root canal. I got the root canal done despite the challenges this posed in multiple ways. His own orthodontist, Dr. Joe Safirstein, also wrote poorly of me and didn't want to work on my case with Dr. Bray. I believe not because I was difficult like Dr. Joe claimed in his letter (which I got a copy of from my lawyer), but because he didn't want a challenging dental case, like others before him, due to the way my orthodontist left me in an impossible situation with bone loss, receded gums, dangerously loose level 1 teeth, a collapsed bite, loss of tooth show when I smile etc... I am a huge mess aesthetically, functionally and dental pain wise. I was super kind and respectful to Dr. Joe Safirstein too. I was so thankful that he was considering taking on the ortho part of my case. It is my personal opinion that both Dr. Brian Bray and Dr. Joe Safirstein wanted to protect my orthodontist in any way they could. But he couldnt dismiss me for that reason, so he claimed I was non-complaint with unrealistic expectations. My expectations are actually pretty low, as I have understood the graveness of my case even before I saw him. Dr. Joe even barked at me when I told him my front 2 teeth were fractured at the original orthodontists office. He had asked how they broke, and I was simply answering honestly. I was shocked, and just looked down and apologized for fear I wouldn't get his help, which I didn't anyway. Dr. Bray dismissed me, which is a breach of contract among other legal issues, and every appointment before that was for the purpose of leading towards the treatment plan. All those appointments about my treatment plan were for the sole purpose of actually doing the treatment plan he had written up for me, not to just chat about it. That's a loss of $369 for appointments that went nowhere and his office refuses to refund it. This doesnt include the time off work that went against my sick leave hours, the long drives to the other side of town, the gas, and ultimately the disappointment in the end, which was the worst. It's disheartening. I also had to pay money to my lawyer requesting a refund from Dr. Bray, but he refused. The only good thing I can say about Dr. Bray is that his treatment plan was on the conservative side; conservative for me is different than someone with minor teeth, jaw, gum, bone damages. For most people this would be a huge full-mouth restorative change, but for me it was still a better plan because he wasn't going to put me in permanent dentures. It's entirely possible Bray would do a good job on a more straightforward case that was not legally tangled, but to me, it's the principle. For this reason, my friends and family would not go there knowing how I was treated. But even with easier dental cases, there is the issue of what I feel was illegitimate billing practices. Bray's office argues they wrote off so many charges for me. But most bills were paid by myself and insurance, and other charges were never legitimate to begin (ie the mouth guard I never got). And where does that leave me? Out a bunch of money, with a legal headache, on top of my major dental issues.

    Rodich, Dr. Ted
He was pretty good. He was very good. Very friendly. Ive never stayed overnight over there, but the chair-side manner was very good. Theyre very friendly. Communication was very good, answered all my questions and I understood everything. Effectiveness of treatment was very good. I was impressed with his knowledge. The staff was very good, they were very knowledgeable also. Never had a procedure like that and it went very well. It wasnt painful and everything went very well.

I was seen right away and at a cost that was lower than some of the others I had been quoted. The dentist and his entire staff were friendly and thorough in their examination, let me know what I could expect and took the time to understand my needs. In fact, they did everything possible to have my new upper plate ready in time for Thanksgiving (but the makers of the plate were not able to create it in time). It was a good experience and when I had to wait an extra 30 minutes for my last appt. I was given a $5.00 Starbucks card as compensation.

Dr. Fast and company are the very best I have ever been to. My fear of the dentist caused my problems with my teeth in the first place! I am no longer afraid to go and the professionalism and gentle care means everything to me. He saved my teeth and I will be forever grateful!

Dr. Roberto Macedo, dds, ms, PhD
I?m 81 and have had a galaxy of dentists in my life, and
unfortunately while some of them have been very good indeed there were others
whom I could only politely say were not stars. Doctor Roberto Macedo was the
luckiest accident I ever had thanks to blind instinct when I went to the
Faculty Dental Practice at Oregon Health Services University (OHSU), where he
was a professor, specializing in prosthodontics, one of nine dental specialties
recognized by the American Dental Association.
His expertise in restorative dentistry, which I think of as
the heavy lifting in dentistry, was well suited to replacing one of my front
teeth,  a procedure I was especially touchy about getting right.  This was in 2014 and was the beginning of
about $20,000 of work including bridges, crowns, etc., and very recently (several
weeks ago, at this writing) restoring three prominent lower teeth which I had
    just about given up on.
In the past, my bridges looked as if they were carved out of
soap. Doctor Macedo is a craftsman, and very qualified?dds, ms, PhD.--and he
does not isolate himself from his patients: He is just an email away.and responds quickly.
I?m sorry to see him go. If you live in Naples, you will
find him at Engle Dentistry, 5659 Naples Blvd 34109 or 40 S.Heathwood Dr., Ste
    D, 34145

They're very professional and very friendly. They'll talk you through every step of what they're doing. You get the cost upfront. They always verify with the insurance before they do any work. They're very professional and very nice. I've never had a problem with punctuality. I've always been able to get in in a timely manner and I've always been seen in a timely manner. I live in northeast Portland so going out to Gresham for an appointment is really not very convenient for me. I've been going to them for 20 years and they've always been so great. I don['t want to try to find another dentist. They are so friendly, so nice and I've been going there for so long. I haven't been to another dentist for a long time. I'm assuming that their prices are competitive with everybody else.

    Geriatric Dental Group
They were great.  They basically deal with seniors and it is much cheaper than regular dentist.  It?s easier and quicker and it does not take so long.  My experience with them was great because previously I have gone to a regular dentist and it took forever and the price was expensive.  But with Geriatric Dental I got my dentures done in a couple of months.  Actually I have been going to a dental school and one of the instructors told me about this dental group.

One of the reason why they are inexpensive is because give you a card for your next appointment.  I don?t know how they do it but they cut money from it.  So that is awesome.  For instance they give you an appointment for 2:05 - 2:15 pm and when you there at 2:05 you get done by 2:15.

I chipped both my front teeth when I was falling into the street. I cant remember how he did the teeth. I fell down again and I broke the tooth that he put in so he put in a bridge. He could tell what he needed to do and he looks very very young and he took the place of the dentist that I had there before. Everything about him is just very very good.

They are just great! They are nice people and really work with you. They are very warm and do excellent work. They go out of their way to make the patient feel comfortable. I had an issue with the billing and they took care of it for me very well. I don't have dental insurance and they offer you a plan that gives you a discount on everything they do.

I was in a lot of pain.  They were able to get me in the same day and were ready to do the surgery the same day.  I decided to take medicine to manage the pain over the weekend and came for surgery on Monday.
The office is small and pleasant.  They have advanced digital xray equipment that shows exactly what is going on in your mouth.
I am a bit nervous at the dentist, and had a bad experience with a wisdom tooth extraction in the past.  They did everything to make me comfortable and minimize stress.  They went over options for surgeries and types of sedation. I chose
novacaine, oral sedation and nitrous oxide, which left me with no memory of the surgery or of any pain. The tooth came out in pieces. The extraction and follow up went very well.
