Shoulder Pain reviews in Portland

  • It was very good. He's just always been very professional. I feel like he listens to me. He fixed my shoulder. He listens really well. He seems to have a lot of experience. It seems like he knows what he's doing. He will sit and talk to you as long as you need to. He is constantly asking if you have any questions or if he needs to explain any better. I never feel rushed. I never feel brushed off or anything. He's very knowledgeable.

  • The initial visit was smooth enough, although I was unable to book an appointment for at least 6 weeks to see Dr. Wei. I brought x-rays from a previous visit to a different ortho with me, so Dr. Wei looked them over and advised me of a couple of different surgical treatment options. We agreed that I would hold off on surgery until a later date and that I would call and schedule surgery at that time.
4)Fast-forward to 10 months later (early July of 2014), and I decide that it's finally time to get my elbow problem taken care of. I call the office, and the woman I talked to in scheduling insisted that I had to have Dr. Wei see me again before I could make an appointment for surgery, even though Dr. Wei had said that was unnecessary. (Keep in mind that Dr. Wei barely examined me during the first appointment--he was basing his treatment options off of my x-rays films that I brought in.) I reluctantly agree to another appointment, but the only one available is at the end of August, over 7 weeks from the day I called. Fast-forward to 11 days before that appointment, and I receive notice that they have cancelled my appointment and quot;because of a scheduling conflict.and quot; The scheduling conflict, of course, is that the appointment was for 4:10 pm on the Friday before Labor Day weekend, and I'm sure the doctor's wanting to get out of town for a long weekend.
I liked Dr. Wei from my brief encounter with him, but you're better off going to some place that can actually schedule you to treat your problem, in my opinion. That's what I'll be doing.

  • The best experience ever! We had xrays and a MRI. The MRI was a little inconclusive (not done at the Rebound Clinic) Dr. Colville read it as good as he could, told us that my daughter probably tore her labrum. As it turned out she tore her rotator cuff, labrum, biceps tendon and a couple more muscles in her shoulder. The surgery took about 1 1/2 hours. After 3 months of rehab she has pretty good range of motion and is now starting to lift weights. Our hope is that she will be back to playing volleyball in June. Dr. Colville is friendly and polite he has a great bedside manner, but most of all I believe he is a fabulous surgeon. I would recommend him to any one who needs shoulder surgery.

  • It's a practice I found on Angie's List. So far, so good. I've been really happy with the whole process. The surgery was in Vancouver and my rehabilitation was in Portland. They do all their surgeries in Vancouver. My orthopedic surgeon just does shoulders and elbows. The staff was friendly and they have a good bedside manner. They're very well-organized. They're a large practice of a lot of doctors and therapists there. It's a well-ran operation. It's above and beyond the doctors who got it down. So far, it's been a really positive experience.

  • He explained ways I could help myself improve and let me know that if my condition persisted I was free to consult him again. His suggestions have helped, and my shoulder is 75% improved in a little over two months. I appreciated his willingness to discourage an invasive approach and suggest a more natural course of healing. I'd go to him again. The price of his services is before insurance payment.

  • Within 2 weeks I was off all pain meds and within 5 days of surgery, I started physical therapy. I couldn't be happier. Their complex contains their offices, surgery center and physical therapy and everyone has been absolutely wonderful. I'm ahead of schedule with rehab and would highly recommend anyone to see Dr. Murphy. I'm grateful that he did my surgery.

  • I love the facilities at the KOR. They have a wide variety of options for physical therapy....machines, massage, accupuncture. Chloe is an extremely knowledgeable therapist and the receptionist LIsa is one of the best behind the desk personel I've ever had help me in ANY business. I go to the KOR periodically for help as I have old age bones and issues. I work with Chloe for a few weeks to get back on track then she sends me home with exercises to fit that particular problem I'm having at the time. Then when another age related issue pops up, back I go. Just as we have to take our older cars in for maintenance repairs, I have to do that same thing for my body!
I would recommend the KOR without hesitation.

  • I am just starting the process with them, and I haven't had a lot of interaction yet.  They are very attentive, and they took the time.  Most doctors just want to get you in and get you out.  So far, I'm pretty pleased with them.  The bedside manner was definitely an A.  The billing was pretty standard.  I will be starting therapy with them.

  • Both Donn and Kent have gone through extensive additional shoulder-specific training.  Their understanding of the dynamics of shoulder function and healing, and the correct sequence of therapy,  seemed completely different from my previous PT, and I started seeing positive results with them right away.  In addition, the previous PT was doing very painful manipulations on my shoulder, apparently to try to force my shoulder into a greater range of motion.  But virtually all of the shoulder work that Kent did was pain-free, yet I saw immediate results every time I went.  I learned a great deal about shoulder anatomy and mechanics, had effective home exercises and felt supported and encouraged every time I went there.  I can't recommend them enough, they are really experts at what they do.  In addition, I had a very necessary and excellent massage there - I would recommend both massage therapists.
  • Dr. Colville used both the MRI and props to explain the shoulder issue. When he was through, we understood exactly what the problems were. The options were discussed, from doing nothing to surgical repair. We came away with a high opinion of Rebound and particularly Dr. Colville and would certainly use his and Rebound services again.
