They were great----and responsive. I'm from Seattle, heard relatives were having a special dinner together for the birthday of their son, brother, husband who had passed away last year. An emotional day to say the least. I called Angies List for a florist referral and jumped on the phone. They got the delivery out that afternoon, arriving about the time everyone had shown up for the dinner. Timing was just right! They loved the flowers. Service was promt and they were easy to deal with. They are on my list should I need more flowers in that part of Portland.

Albeit promising at first glance, given the vastness of the stores, the Stars Malls, with some dealer exceptions, resembles more a designer garage sale than an antique venue.  With some exceptions, it's over-priced and not competitive with other more down-to- earth malls, with actual antiques in the Sellwood neighborhood, particularly those on the old Antique Row (13th Street). I used to love Stars when it opened years ago, before it got so "posh," but not so much anymore.  Spendy and just can't find anything I'm either looking for or want most times I stop by.
The other difficulty with this store is help. Every time I've gone in there's been a couple of gals or guys up front but never enough to go around, to open cases, answer questions.  Can take some time to get a clerk to help out, and when they do they seem distracted and itching to get back to the front counter.  Seems it would be better to hire a body for the floor who's on top of customer needs.
Overall, it's a good place perhaps for ideas on how to decorate in a specific kind of rather sterile style, but not so much for specific antique/collectibles one might hope to find in an antique store.

I bought some items online.  They did not work so I liked being able to return the item to a local store instead of going through the hassle of return shipping.  I had bought two Nap neck massagers that did not work.  I explained this to the store clerk.  I said that one of them started to work but ended up not working and the other did not work at all.  She tried it herself, stated happily that one worked.  I explained that is what had happened with one of them but that it had stopped.  She stated that it seemed to work fine now and then moved to set it on the counter and it stopped.  She then agreed with me that yes, the products were defective.  This was fine . . . but I would have rather that they would have not seemed so doubtful in what I was trying to explain to them.
I do enjoy many products from Brookstone and will continue to purchase additional products.  I would say that this was my only negative experience with the company.  I might continue to purchase only on line.

I have been using them for 5 or 6 years. They are locally-owned and the employees know everything about the toys we are buying. They are close to my house and I would rather go to a locally-owned place than a big box. They gift wrap too.

I do not like that you have to pay shipping and handling. A lot of the time, you find things that you would not find anywhere else. I am always willing to pay the shipping and handling. Sometimes the quality is not always what you think it is. You get good stuff.

I had heard about Dollar Scholar for a couple of years and the surprise that awaits you when you open the door as a new customer. They were not wrong. I won't give it away, but the friendly guy at the counter will ask you to do something. Do not decline his invitation of fun. They have a great assortment of oddities and I feel really good supporting someone like this.

Cookies are a unique and creative gift and the "bouquets" are a great suprise. They taste GREAT, are super cute, and have been loved in every instance I've used them. They have been delivered on-time in each instance. Check it out- they have bouqets for every possible need- sympathy, birthday, halloween. I love it and would highly recommend it.
