Dermatology reviews in Portland

    Goodskin Dermatology
Dr Aanderud regularly available in two different Regional Offices, prompt, caring, enthusiastic and apparently wise. He solved my problem completely within just a few weeks with a short intensive treatment at home by prescription followed by the right over the counter cream product that has worked wonders. And not just for me but for others that I've told about him. The office is beautiful, and the staff very friendly.

    McClelland, Dr. Matthew C.
Dr. McClelland is great! My whole family(4 of us) really appreciate the time that he takes to make sure that all of our questions/concerns are addressed. This is very rare in the medical profession and is greatly appreciated.

    Portland Dermatology Clinic
I was terribly disappointed in Dr. Renee Chang. It took her three whole months to diagnose my eczema. She even said she thought it might be bug bites! One ointment she gave me turned my arm into what I can only describe as "a piece of red meat." Then she did 2 biopsies that should not have been necessary to diagnose eczema. She checks people for cancer, and then sends them to the surgeon there, but Dr. Chang sure doesn't know about rashes!

    Portland Dermatology Clinic
I was very disappointed in Dr. Chang. She comes across nice until she makes a mistake...For 3 months she just piddled around trying to figure out my arm and neck rash: (1) said she didn't know what it was, but that it looked like bug bites, (2) gave me ointments/meds (one of them, I found out, was not appropriate), and (3) did 2 biopsies. Frustrated, I went to a different doctor who, in 2 MINUTES, diagnosed it! (eczema) Terrible itching for 3 months and 2 scars!  Shame on you, Dr. Chang, for not referring me out to another doctor once you realized that you were stumped! P.S. Several years ago I saw Dr. Lee there for Mohs cancer surgery on my nose. Dr. Lee was excellent. But once Dr. Chang found out a couple of months ago that another dermatologist diagnosed my eczema in 2 minutes vs. her bungling attempt to do so, she then told me that I wouldn't be able to see Dr. Lee anymore for any future cancer surgery I need. That was just plain mean.

    Key Laser Institute
The staff was friendly, caring, and professional as other reviews have stated.  The cost of $1,200 was for 3 treatments over two months to the eyelids for tightening and lifting.   There was no pain during or after the treatments.  Three months have passed (which I was told to allow), and I notice no improvement whatsoever so I feel I wasted time and money.

Center for Dermatology and Laser Surgery
The staff were friendly and professional. Problem I have is its very hard to follow up with their staff reguarding biopsy results. They try to call you reguarding results but if you miss the call you could spend all day trying to reach someone in the office. When you call you get the phone tree and then a voice message system saying they will call you back if you leave them your info. Then if they do call you again it will be hours before they do, so once again you missed the call. Also I needed to have a refferal to another surgeon to have a spot removed from my nose. I talked to the referal person at the office and they said they would get that info to Dr Allen right away and I should be hearing from her office in a couple days. four days later I hear nothing from Dr Allens office so I call Dr  Allens office and they said they had not received anything from center for dermatlogy and laser. So once againg I had to call Center for dermathology and deal with no one answering my calls or returning them. I Finally just pressed the button on the phone tree for Doctors and finally got through to a real person. Of course they claim they sent my refferal to Dr Allen but that was a lie becase Dr Allen's office did not receive it.  This happened on two different biopsies I had taken there. Its like groundhog day, same mistakes twice. I will not be going back to this provider because they do not have enough staff to handle the high number of patients they see and it seems they need to work on thier refferral dept.

    Stacy Reed MD
Dr. Reed was nice and punctual.  Office was appropriate.  But she looked at it for less than 1 minute, said it was fine and was out of the room within 5 minutes.  That is a great outcome for us and put our daughter (and her parents) at ease.  However, her bill for that service was $195 which doesn't seem right to me.  After the insurance adjustment was still $146.85.

    Kaiser Permanente
Every appointment I've had at Kaiser has been exactly on time. I never have to wait like I did with my old health provider. Their system is so efficient. I can email my doctor, call an advice nurse and order prescriptions online. Those prescriptions are then mailed to me free of charge.
Every professional I have dealt with at Kaiser has been great. It's a retail culture where customer service is a priority and efficiency and timeliness are valued. Since they provide both insurance and health services, they are very proactive in preventative medicine.
I switched to Kaiser six years or so and have never considered leaving.

    Hewitt, Dr. Margaret A
Dr. Hewitt has been my dermatologist for about 7 years. I've had others, and she is by far the best. Thorough, thoughtful, and conservative in her care. Getting in to see her is reasonable, and rarely do you have to wait more than 5 minutes. She is personable and remembers you and your issues even if she hasn't seen you in a year, and you can tell that is not just from looking at the file before the appointment. She is very good, I would highly recommend her.

    Dermatology Associates
I usually see Holly, and she is very good at what she does.  She can usually diagnose what's going on within a minute or two.  She always get me set up with the right medication (sometimes it's just a specific cream) and fixes whatever is going on.   Will continue to see her for all my dermatology needs!
