I am very nervous with dental procedures and am on several meds for anxiety disorder. This office and dentist were fantastic and for the first time in decades I actually felt relaxed and looking forward to getting work completed and getting the issues with my teeth and bite taken care of. Everyone there is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. This one of the very few dentists proficient in neuro-muscular dentistry. He is able to explain it in terms that are understandable and he is enthusiastic about what they can do to improve your overall well-being. I can't believe it but I am looking forward to going back!

    Dr. Martha Rich
Dr Martha Rich is head and shoulders above any dentist I have ever had -- Certainly three sigmas above the mean or better. She takes a holistic approach and connects the dot between dental health and overall well-being. She has a specialty in TMJ and pointed out several ways that I was contributing to my own discomfort through unconscious habits. After the appointment, she sent a detailed report containing copies of my x-rays, all the measurements, as well as written recommendations for next steps. I was so pleased with this experience that I recommended her to my partner, who also had an exceptionally good experience… as far as dental experiences go, that is!! Once we were established with her, she has taken very good care of us. Earlier this year, I called her when my partner's dental bridge broke out during surgery. Dr Martha came out to Providence hospital with her dental bag and re-cemented the teeth back in during her recovery. We are so grateful to have found such an excellent dentist who has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Her costs are higher than many other dentists, but given the higher service level and attention to detail, we received an excellent value and could not recommend her more highly.

    Kirkland Dentistry
Dr. Kirkland always spends plenty of time with me and is very friendly and makes me feel at ease. I tried a couple of others in the area that I was not happy with before finding him. He is especially knowledgeable about TMJ. He did some analysis of my bite and confirmed what I had suspected - that my TMJ was due to an uneven bite caused by orthodontics in my teenage years. (I don't recommend my orthodontist.) Unfortunately, in my case I'd have to get braces again, but I guess for some people it can be dealt with by building up or grinding down a little. If you have TMJ issues, I definitely recommend at least seeing him for the analysis of your problem. And he's a great dentist in general.

It went terribly wrong though I was not injured by treatment. It was just wasting of my money (no insurance) for a kind of treatment she was just starting practicing and did very poor job. The retainer hurt so much that I could not keep it on. I saw her struggling to fix it and took long time doing it but it did not improve much. It was my first time I had that kind of treatment and I did not know any better. Few years later, I went to other dentist to treat same issue. He was actually mentor to her for treatment procedure but only few times. Then I started wondering can dentists practice something on patient which they did not have much of professional training? I do not think the kind of treatment I received requires board certified or anything as there is no organization to monitor this kind of treatment. There is no so called specialists so that anyone can practice with little training. It should ne regulated, otherwise it just creates more miserable patients who had to waste money and remind in pain. Not only this, the lab she was using was not punctual at all and did not produce a new retainer for a month and stuff from the office never contacted me. I had to call them several times and I was just told it is coming but I actually did not received it because I moved but they kept sending me bills. Do I have to pay for a retainer I never received because it took exactly a month to produce? It is negligence of their side but not mine. However, as I complained to Dr. Yamaguchi by writing a letter, she took off my outstanding bill. Well, is it really MY bill if there was no good (retainer) received in reasonable time? I heard from other dentist in her network she is good and she may be. One thing for sure is I wasted few thousand dollars just to get more pain and discomfort.
