"Cage spent a lot of time talking with us about our needs. He promptly followed up the visit with an email estimate. We feel very confident Cage would be an ideal choice for tile work in our home. we've seen his work in other homes we've visited, and we've been impressed with the high quality.

"He came. He measured. We talked and I told him what I wanted...specifically a mantel and bookcase to either side of the fireplace and a floor to ceiling bookcase in the bedroom. He showed me examples and we talked some more. We agreed. Less than two weeks later he delivered and installed exactly what I wanted. The quality and workmanship are very fine. I would use this man again in a heartbeat.

"~Paid extra for a wine rack and wine glass holder, standard wine glasses will not fit in wine glass holder as installers placed the holders too close together. Company informed of this and was unable to adjust width of holders. Recieved a discount
on the wine rack but it still irks me that my glasses, which are standard, have to take up cupboard space when theoretically i should have had a functioning, correctly spaced wine glass holder.
~2 months after installation, glazing on cabinets started to chip. Company notified and said they would send someone out. Attempted to schedule a date, no one available on the days I have off of work...
~3 months after installation: 1) One drawer hinge broke with normal usage ( I was eventually able to fix this myself) and granite CHIPPING at seams on bullnosing. Company notified and they offered to send someone out but could not commit to any specific date that I had available, instead I recieved 3 calls mid- morning stating they could come out that day, which is unnacceptable as I work FT and cannot just be home at their leisure. I have still not heard back about the chipping cabinets or the chipping granite.
~Installers screwed screws in so deep that cabinets are splintering in numerous places around screw holes.
Customer service was great at first, but after they got my money, it seems to have dwindled down to nothing. I should have gone to IKEA.

"I could tell from the start that
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
the designer (and I believe owner) was irritated that we took a long time with details. It was a small project, three window seats to be designed in three spaces, and he did not like that he could not get "in and out" with it. We are both commerical artists and so we are very detailed oriented.
It would not be a stretch to say that

and

, the carpenter who installed the window seats had an attitude with us. The carpenter actually complained to me on site that it had taken a year from the estimate to the installation. As a person who worked in the interior design industry for 15 years, I could not believe that lack of professionalism. We actually could not afford to do the window seats until that time.
The other thing is that all the times that
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
worked here, he did not sweep up after himself outside. Sawdust and wood scraps were left on the patio each time he came out. The second and third time he was here, we had a new puppy, and he still once again left chunks of wood on the patio. The next day, our puppy had a very expensive trip to the vet. I am not blaming this vet trip on this company, because the doctor could not figure out what poison had gotten into her, but wood with chemicals in it surely can't be good for a puppy. (the carpenter knew that we had this puppy).
When we complained about the messes that the carpenter left, we received no response from the owner. We finally received a sentence long response from him when we asked why we had not received a response.
On the whole, this company is very responably priced and does fine work. I understand them being frustrated with customers who take longer, given their low prices. I actually would have been fine with paying more because was are the type of people who take longer. But the attitude was so unpleasant to be around that we will not be using them again.

is great about really listening to what you want and then making suggestions based on his excellent experience. He knows his business and has wonderful ideas about what will work. It was very clear that
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
just wanted us to be happy with the cabinets and made sure we were. They turned out great. The installers were friendly, careful, and made sure the job was done right. We couldn't be happier with our new cabinets.

"We had a complete kitchen remodel with walls taken out. They took an old, dark, cramped, 50's-sized space that had been kind of remodeled sometime in the 80's and turned it into a light, airy and big contemporary kitchen that we are very happy with.
We had planned this remodel for a few years and received bids from several contractors, but Ed
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was the first person we met who gave us the confidence we needed to move forward with the project. He is a cabinet maker which allowed us to get exactly what we wanted because he could manipulate cabinet size to the space that we had to work with.
Ed really understands what can and can't be done to a space, almost at first glance. He was able to look at what we wanted and the space we had and come up with a working solution that gave us what we wanted, something the other contractors were unable to do.
Ed was patient with our questions, he demonstrated subject matter expertise in all areas of construction, he stuck to his original cost proposal, and he completed the project in half the time other contractors had estimated.
Ed and his team operate with the highest degree of personal integrity and pride in workmanship. Overall we had a very positive experience working with Ed and we would not hesitate to work with them again for another remodel project.

"I have written a separate review of Spectrum Homes. This will focus on

.
I had read good reviews on Angie's List, and went to the showroom in Milwaukie to look around. There I met kitchen designer Crystal
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
. I was impressed enough to want to get a bid from her company. She came out to my house and took measurements and listened to what I wanted in a kitchen. She designed the kitchen, and I suggested a few modifications. She came with me to the contractors showroom when I was intimidated by all of the choices. She is smart and good at her job, and made great suggestions about tile backsplash, countertops, flooring, paint, and even grout colors. I chose the cabinets.

The final kitchen, incorporating her designs and the finishes she suggested, looks fabulous. The countertop and the tile backsplash particularly work well together. The cabinets are beautiful.
In conclusion, it looks like exactly what I had envisioned, only better.

"The cabinets were late, too much rework and very bad followup. Made LOTS of excuses for poor workmanship. We are still waiting for some pullouts for our lower cabinets however I do not expect him to complete the order even though he was paid in full. His specs were bad, his scheduling was worse and his customer service was the worst I have ever had. We even had a cabinet door almost fall off when we first opened it and it took two weeks to get it repaired.

"I called the company approximately one month ago.
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
was personable and came to my house the next day to take measurements for all new kitchen cabinets.
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
explained that his company regularly beats out Home Depot on pricing. Great, I thought, this sounds like a winning company.
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
promised me a quote within 2 weeks because A
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
is super busy and he needs to catch up with 6 other customers. Well, over 2 weeks later, nothing from them. I call
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
and he tells me he'll definitely have it to be in one week. Nothing. I call him last Monday and I can hear the disdain in his voice.
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
really doesn't want to talk to me anymore and this time has made no further promises of when he'll give me a quote. Did I do something wrong? I have no idea. I have called him a total of three times and I don't think that is excessive. I think I was very courteous, friendly and properly explained my cabinetry needs. It's been over a month now. I guess
Portland Cabinet Makers Provider Name Locked
isn't interested in my business. I'm actually very disappointed.

"Went very well. No delays, staff and subs were always on time and cleaned up before they left. All were great to work with. All of the workmanship was first rate."
