I had Crown pick up my 1988 Jeep Wrangler from my home on 1/13/2015 to transport it to Marsh's Auto Transmission in Tualatin. It was picked up on a flatbed tow truck. The driver appeared to secure my vehicle to his flatbed. My Jeep had been out of commission and sitting in my driveway (outside) for 4 years, due to a bad transmission. It is a very unique looking jeep in that it is completely rhino lined in bright neon green, with a black rhino lined hard top. During the transportation of my jeep to the shop, the top flew off somewhere along the way and when the jeep got to the shop it was topless. None of this was reported to myself or to Marsh's Transmission. When I went to pick up my jeep on 2/11/15 from Marsh's my jeep was topless. I thought it was kind of weird but after paying the transmission shop, I said, okay let's put the top on and I can get out of here. They looked at me like I was crazy. They said that the jeep arrived at their shop with no top on. I basically called them liars and said there is no way a tow company would pick up a jeep with a top on at my house and drive it from NE Portland down I-5, 30+ miles, and deliver it to a shop without it's top, and not notice that it looks completely different from when they picked it up. Well, after making several calls, thank goodness for triple A (by the way...I doubt they will ever use Crown ever again), we discovered that during the transport of my jeep the DOT called Crown and asked them if they were transporting a jeep because they had been notified that the top had flown off of it. Crown had made no attempt that day to make contact with the shop or myself and had my jeeps top since 1/13/15. I still don't know for sure how the top flew off, but I was willing to take half the blame offering to pay half the cost of the replacement for the top if Crown would pay the other half. Crown was more then willing and offered to do the repairs himself. He gave me an estimate of $2000 just to fix the beat up one that had fallen off his flatbed!!!! I googled a brand new one for $400 and could probably have it rhino lined for another $600 (or less), so I'm assuming he was having me pay for the whole thing. I hate being taken for a sucker. So I called Triple A, and told them that the company that they sent out to tow my jeep sucked and that they needed to reconsider who they contracted with. Meanwhile, my lawyer will deal with this scum....story will be continued. Jeep is still at shop, topless. :(

the clutch went bad on my car. I scheduled an appointment with my garage and called speeds to pick up and deliver my car to them.
it took him just 20 minutes to arrive.
He cleverly used the slope of the road to roll my car on to the towing arm.
He told me I should be able to get reimbreimbursed from my insurance, and told me what to submit.
And most awesomely, He held an umbrella while I filled out the paperwork. (I am a guy)

I called and told the woman who answered what my situation was and asked how much it would cost. She got my address and the address of my mechanic. She calculated it was 2.38 miles and it would cost $139.00. I've never had to use a tow truck but from what I'd read, this was about as reasonable as it was going to get without insurance. The truck got to my house about 30 minutes BEFORE she said it would arrive. The drive was courteous, clean and very professional. He had massive amounts of paperwork to fill out by hand as well as a mobile device and he took pictures of the car from all 4 sides. He had to do a bit of calculating on his part to come up with her price (his kept coming up higher) but he got to it and was able to enter the amount on the app he was using. His truck would not fit up my narrow driveway so we agreed I'd get in and steer and he'd push me down the driveway and I'd try to get the car turned properly as it rolled into the street.
We were a little off on our communication (I turned to the right, he said he wanted me to turn the other way), but he was very nice about it and was able to get the car hooked up in about 15 minutes. Again, very professional and courteous. I gave him the key and he drove off. I called the mechanic to let them know it was coming and that was that! Very easy. I'd recommend Provider name locked. to anyone, especially a woman, who has to deal with a Provider name locked. situation.
