Snow Removal reviews in Pittsburgh

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • It's difficult to pinpoint whether he is not the brightest bulb or dishonest. The exact difference may not matter since the net effect is the same.  He has a lot of PR out there, to the effect that he is so involved with the community and such a hard worker.  I've seen those descriptions here as well.  These descriptions are very suspicious, since you hear the same thing from the woman who answers his phone and does his billing.  Thus, it seems a part of a persona, designed to hide something far less genuine.

His plowing service is far more designed to rake in money than to provide an actual service.  He plows at his convenience, coming up to twelve hours after a major snowstorm has ended, then sometimes coming again within twelve hours, when just a dusting is left on the ground -- and so charging twice for a service that was late to begin with.  He comes at his discretion which means he will come with so little show on the ground that the plowing actually does damage -- to both the ground and your wallet, since he charges, of course, for those completely unnecessary services.  Those minor dustings happen a lot in Pittsburgh, something I'm sure he has figured out.   But you don't need him then.  That is all about his raking in money.

If you read his contract carefully you will see he covers all sorts of cases that wouldn't actually occur unless he was dishonest to begin with.   Normally, business people who care about service and honesty don't invoke those things, let alone have language for them in the contract, as if they expect them to occur.  The thing is, they DO with him -- so watch out.

Once he came so long after the snowfall that the snow had for all practical purposes melted.  He came a full day late to plow nothing.   And, of course, he charged for that.

If you question him on these things, he does not call back.  I see from other reviews that not calling back is a pattern of his.

He plows his business customers first -- the ones that are more likely to live with his "discretion."   Good luck to them.  I assume they have money to waste.  But, as a result, he does not need, nor value, you as a customer.

Maybe someday he will figure out what good service means.   I really wish he would.  But I am not hopeful.

  • Subsequent times were routine cleaning, theroectically 3 hours for $75, but the last time he was only there 1 1/2 hours.  Last two times I noticed that the dining room table was not dusted and it looked like the kitchen surfaces were not wiped off-of if done, not well.  Nice, very nice guy, but not good at the routine cleaning. Bed making was also not well done.
so, bottom line-would use for occasional jobs-they did a good job then, but not for weekly cleaning.

  • To qualify my answer--We have an extremely shady lawn where it's hard to grow almost anything including grass. After speaking with numerous landscape companies and getting turned down for this project due to lack of knowledge or experience with what i was asking, Provider name locked. at Provider name locked. Landscape agreed to research my request and give it a shot.
After much research and back and forth discussion we agreed on a plan of action. Provider name locked. solution was to test plant a section of our front lawn with moss before doing the entire yard in the hopes that with success we could turn the entire lawn into a no maintenance, green landscape.  After tilling the area, and placing new soil Provider name locked. planted a 10ft x 10ft test plot of moss and covered it with meshing to protect from the leaves and debris that fall in the yard.
I can tell you it looks great right now! Now to see how it lasts through the winter to decide if we want to do the entire lawn. Provider name locked. is friendly, responsive and easy to deal with and his company also does snow removal in the winter which we also use them for.
    Thanks Provider name locked. !
