Firewood Company reviews in Pittsburgh

1 big load of crap! Nearly one quarter (1/4) of the load was scrap 'rough cut' from a lumber yard and one quarter (1/4) was scraps of bark, chips, and splinters, with soil and barkdust mixed in. A large number of 'half-splits that are too big to put in a family room fireplace. A lot of wet, ground pile wood.
Stopped payment on the check!
Provider name locked. this number!
It had been several years since we used this service; now I remember why we stopped.
- Cathy M.
We contracted with Provider name locked. three times for firewood delivery. Last year, he delivered a half load containing much rotten and wet wood. To compensate, somewhat, he later brought a second half load of much better quality, but burning the bad wood he sold us was annoying, bad for our Provider name locked. , and not good for heating. Provider name locked. also used a devious maneuver when I called this year. He told us that he was out of wood, but could arrange to get some from another supplier. He claimed that this supplier wanted $600 for 3 cords of stacked wood and would not negotiate a lower price. However, we later learned from the supplier, after paying them the $600, that it was Provider name locked. who received the money. Although he was acting as a good-faith reference and supposedly not a party to the contract, he actually had an undisclosed interest in keeping the price high for us. Overall, I found dealing with Provider name locked. to be unprofessional, unreliable, and more trouble (and money) than it was worth.

We have bought our firewood from Provider name locked. for the last three years. His prices cannot be beat. You can get a cord of only cherry wood for a little extra, and he will stack it for an extra fee, although we have always stacked our own. He returns calls promptly and will often be able to deliver your wood in a day or two, if he's not too busy. His cords are "fat" cords, too; no skimping here. Important note: He only delivers in the northern neighborhoods around Pittsburgh.
