Deck Building reviews in Pittsburgh

  • We had numerous contractors come to look at our project. In some instances we had contractors draw a Provider name locked. picture and said that is what we are going to get. Nothing custom. Nothing special. Price would be cheap, but you get what you pay for. Provider name locked. spent about an hour with us going through the different deck options we could. He described the differences between the decking materials and explained how the materials have changed over the years.

We hired Provider name locked. early in the year and had our deck built around March or April (can't recall). It took about two weeks from start to finish. Provider name locked. and is helper are extremely detail oriented. We have had contractors visit the house since the deck was built and we are consistently told that we got a great deck.

Something nice that Provider name locked. will do is send a spreadsheet with all of the options you could want in a deck. In the spreadsheet, each option and its costs are highlighted. You get to figure out how much you want to spend and what features you want versus what you can do without. Composite versus wood? Metal spindles? Vinyl railings? The choice is yours. Provider name locked. will tell you the pros and cons of each, but you decide what works for you. He will also provide several computer generated images showing what the deck would look like on your house. This helps visualize what everything will look like when it is said and done.

Provider name locked. has my recommendation. When the day comes where our deck needs to be refreshed or updated, we will definitely reach out to him again.

  • First, Ed provided a detailed estimate and took us to see several similar projects he had completed.
Our old dilapidated porch (screened and with a roof) on the backside of our home needed to be torn down and hauled away. A dumpster was provided, all material had to be hauled uphill.
For the new deck (with roof) new foundations for the support beams were cast, the 10' x 20' base was installed and covered with treated wooden boards. The existing steps to the outside were incorporated in the construction. A railing was added on three sides with an exit via the stairs on the side. The roof is closed on the underside (ceiling) and a fan was installed as well as a light on the wall. Since the new roof had a lower angle than the old one, the siding on the entire side of the upper story of the house needed to be replaced. This included insulation and repairs for insect damage. All exposed wood was treated with water seal.
Further, in our entrance hallway cracks were filled and repaired and the door was planed to make it close more easily.
Also, an old rail fence was removed and taken away.
Ed and his team worked diligently and were helpful in any way they could. They freely gave advice and suggestions. They were easy to work with.

  • Provider name locked. provided detailed instructions on what needed to be done prior to contracting him for the job. Since they were removing an existing deck he was not certain what they would find once the boards were removed so he cautioned that the cost may be effected if the frame needed replaced. Fortunately only one borad needed replaced at a minimal charge. The start of the job the was delayed by one day due to weather. The crew was very polite and professional and the job was completed on time. We had solar lights installed on the posts. Provider name locked. left samples for us to try before deciding how many we wanted. Once we decided they returned to install them. A few of them did not work but once I notified Provider name locked. they returned and corrected the problem. Our deck looks great and we would definately contract Provider name locked. again.
