"Our two experiences with

are wonderful to work with--responsive, flexible, reliable, resourceful, not to mention courteous and extremely friendly.
We recently had five windows in our Center City Philadelphia house replaced and were told by the window installers that our existing window treatments no longer fit (an expense we hadn't anticipated). Enter
Philadelphia Upholsterers Provider Name Locked
, who not only spent a couple hours helping me select new treatments for our very tall (96") living-room windows, but also determined that our other existing treatments could, in fact, be reinstalled (I'm very glad we hadn't tossed them yet!). He kindly rehung them AND fixed the shade in our kitchen that had been installed (by another contractor) a bit wonkily--all at no charge. Needless to say, his honesty and expertise resulted in a significant savings for us, for which we are very grateful. When the window treatments for the living-room windows arrived,
Philadelphia Upholsterers Provider Name Locked
installed them beautifully, and since he had a ladder with him, he even offered to replace a few lightbulbs that were out. He is a delight to work with, and I very much enjoyed chatting with him during his visits.
For drapery and upholstery,
Philadelphia Upholsterers Provider Name Locked
is not only wonderfully knowledgeable but also a very quick study; from a brief telephone conversation with me, she was able to pinpoint fabric styles that suited my taste. After our initial meeting, she promptly arranged for samples to be sent to me of the fabrics I'd liked best, and she continued to

for possible matches, sending me additional swatches afterward--one of which I ultimately selected for the upholstery for our dining-room chairs. We could not be more pleased with the chairs; the new upholstery is exactly what we wanted and the craftsmanship is beautiful.

recovered a thread-bare wing back chair for us. Nice work. He and his daughter run a good company. The work was done in May, 2011. We are going to see his daughter's selection of fabrics, even though it is an hour from Philadelphia. We are taking our iPad pictures of the sofa and shairs. to them so we can see the selection of fabrics before we commit.
Good folks.
"Dut does beautiful, first-rate work. He is not always that fast, but I am rarely in a hurry so I tell him he can do my jobs when he has time. I have and do recommend the work of Dut at

"I dropped off the seats at his shop, attached to his house, and he called a week later when they were done and ready to pick up. This met my goal of having the re-upholstery complete before the holidays"
"Called for a free estimate and they came out to look at within 1-2 weeks. Approved the estimate and provided a deposit on the spot. The chairs were taken that day. I received the chairs probably 4 weeks later, since I still had to select and purchase the fabric for the larger chair. I selected the fabric about two weeks later and brought it to the shop on 4th Street. The woman at the shop was very pleasant. The chairs were delivered approximately 2 weeks after that during a snow storm. The delivery was delayed a 1 1/2 hours due to the storm, but they called to let me know and they were right on time."
"I wish I had been smarter and checked out this company more before I hired them. Both this and their New

location have had numerous complaints filed against them. From the beginning the transaction was a nightmare. No one showed up for the first meeting. After that, missed dates, unreturned phone calls, just a mess. I really thought I would never I would see my cushions again. When I got my chair-back pillows they made a horrible, plastic bag noise. I asked for a re-do. Mr.
Philadelphia Upholsterers Provider Name Locked
finally returned my pillows without the noise but not before demanding extra money and calling me both a *explicit* and an *explicit* (in front of my daughter). When I went to install the seat cushions, I found that all of the screw holes had been covered and I had to remove the backing to figure out where the holes were. I was too intimidated and run-down by this vendor to even try to get this fixed. Truly the worst experience I have ever had with a vendor.
"They did beautiful work. I was helped picking out the fabrics. The workmanship was good and the job was excellent on all the pieces that was done. I was happy with the work."

runs the office where she was able to give me an accurate estimate based on measurements I brought in. She helped me select fabric and was supportive about some unusual things I wanted to do. The workmanship is good and everything was done on time."
"Answered their ad in local religious paper for custom drapes & slipcovers. "old world craftsmanship" "we do all our work in our shop". The decorator came out to the house. Thereafter, it was a series of missed delivery dates, numerous excuses, lost orders, never-answered phone calls, etc. For over 8 months on a job that was guaranteed to be ready in time for a wedding in 2 months. Eventually I had to hire a lawyer to get the product delivered. It was, but the wrong color fabric was used on the drapes. By then I just wanted to get this outfit out of my life. I'm hoping to warn other unsuspecting people about this shady business (which I later found out has an unsatisfactory rating with philadelphia bbb)."

told me that the fabric needed a solvent to remove stains but could not recommend one. I went to Home Depot, Lowes, and other smaller hardware stores to find a solvent stain remover and learned that all fabric cleaners sold today are water based. When I, told

,he could not give me a brand name to buy. The water based stain removers leave a water
