    Rafferty Roofing
My wife hired Rafferty Roofing to repair our three roofs. They provided her with no scope of work to be performed or material specs to be used, instead promising only to provide one when the work was completed. There was no contract, no written estimate, no written guarantee, nothing. He wrote the price on the back of his business card and gave it to my wife. They do not list any business address on business cards or on their internet site, which is telling. On the first porch roof, they replaced some of the existing planking with cheap plywood, mismatching the wood & ruining the appearance of the underside. They also tarred two courses of bricks on the house above the porch (which were not leaking and required no tar). Lastly, they cut the roof deck incorrectly (by their own admission) necessitating a new gutter. When we asked questions about the balance of the work, and asked a 40+ year roofing estimator to confer on the job so we would be comfortable that the flat repairs would work, the owner pushed back insisting that no one 'critiques their work'. He said, "I am the roofer" to my wife, and "nobody critiques my work" When I, the homeowner, personally asked to speak to owner Jack Rafferty about what work he was planning to do, he pulled his crew off the job, took his materials, and cursed us. They did not finish the work, they did not leave materials we were entitled to by virtue of our down payment, they have no refunded money owed to us, and the owner personally made insulting comments to me, my family, and my father-in-law in public - all before ever letting me speak, ask about the work to be performed, or find out why he was pulling off the job. We live in NE Philadelphia. We are very frustrated and sorry about our choice to use Rafferty Roofing, and we do not want to see another family go thru the same thing as we did with them. Homeowners DO have a say in any repairs they undertake on THEIR home. There are a great many roofing companies in the Northeast Philadelphia area and across the country. Choose one that works with you and provides documentation and backup for their work. Do not use Rafferty Roofing.

    Phillips Home Improvement LLC
This is a family home - 90 years and counting beginning with my great grandparents. There is a lot of work to be done there but of primary importance was getting a new roof. Angie's List / Home Advisor and I am relieved at my decision to use them. John Garrison and his team at PHI made it easy. They communicated by phone, text and email; scheduled and sent me an estimate; picked and agreed to a date in the next week; arrived on time and finished in a day. I received before and after pictures (boy did I need a roof) and was sent a receipt for a new rubber roof guaranteed for 15 years. The crew even removed an old satellite dish and took it off the property. I was hoping for a mild winter with little snow/rain before this roof work. Of course, time and the elements will tell; but now I say, let it snow!

    DeckPro Powerwash Co
This company is very professional and very responsive. I have used them many times over the years and they are always very good and very responsive to whatever the needs are. This time it was gutter cleaning and a yard clean up - all done promptly and professionally and for a great price. In the spring I will use them for powerwashing my awnings and deck do-over. I highly recommend this company for any of the services they offer!

    FOUR SEASONS ROOFING AND SIDING
I had to go with another roofing company after Four Seasons Roofing did not return my phone calls. Over a 4 week period I left nearly a dozen messages, but no one ever called me back. Not sure what I going on with this company. I've used them in the past and they have always been reliable.

    Blue Collar Roofing
Good day, Two summers ago, I contracted Blue Collar Roofing, who I found as an Angie's List member, to repair the facia board and holes in my roof, created by squirrels Blue Collar Roofing began the work, completing 2/3 of the job. After many phone calls, the owner agreed that it had been too long to complete, and assured me that they would complete the job, at no further charge. I continued to call them over the remainder of 2017, leaving voicemails. I continued to leave messages throughout the year 2018, with no response. They no longer answer my calls. To this date, I have received no follow up, and my roof fascia, and holes remain unrepaired, allowing further access to rodents. Instead of increasing the value of my home, as such repairs should do, we are now in a situation that has potentially lowered are home value.

Please remember the name of this company and its partner company 5 Star Construction company. If you guys see these 2 companies, please DO NOT trust and give any work to these companies. They are liars and after taking advance they would change their words. They have the worst people and don't know anything. Please trust me I have all the pictures of bad jobs, communications that prove how liar and worst they are and if you want to contact me please email to kin.pat@gmail.com. I have created a file called "I am ripped off" and in that file, I have all pictures, all communications, videos everything. Let me explain, I contacted these guys through Angie's List and found that they had A reviews but very few about 6 though, maybe from all relatives. I told them about my budget and I want to get the things done, they agreed and we discussed all the line-items. The guy named Austin Prince came to my house with a contract and he didn't mention so many things. So I told him, you didn't mention what we discussed and he told please trust me, these are small things and I would do it. The whole project cost was $15,000 and he asked me $9,000 upfront. I trusted him and after giving him money, his tone changed and showed unprofessionalism in communication and behavior. So I asked him, did you order any material and he said no. So I told him, not to buy and hold off this project and I asked him to refund my money and he denied to give all my money back. He told me that I would give you about $7500 back as I ordered the material. He told me that he didn't buy the material in the first place. Then I asked him that's ok, just finish my project. Then he appeared after a few days and started the project and middle of the project he told me that I won't do this and that. He was not listening me and he was treating me very bad as he came to know that I paid the advance and I was under him. He didn't do what we discussed while discussing the Project. He finished the roof somehow by taking almost 2 weeks with the worst job. I made the biggest mistake of my life. The roofer was Jamie Hall and he does not know either. Jamie acts that he knows the job but both Jamie and Austin don't know anything please make sure these people don't touch anything to your property. My skylights they have installed at the edge of the ceiling, I told those *** to install the skylights in the middle of the sloped roof. They didn't make a hole from inside and install the skylights from the top. They did the siding, capping and molding the windows without the caulking. They installed the new seamless gutters and they didn't know how to install the gutters like keeping slope to one end. Next day morning gutters were leaking and pouring the water. PLEASE DO NOT work with these companies or these guys. They would loot your money with very cheap service and workmanship. I paid the rest of the money and found that if I had given the job to another company which would be $2k more, but you would be happy by getting the job done, correctly and professionally. So please don't give any work to these companies or their guys otherwise you would lose your money. The job took 3+ weeks (told to finish in 6 days) to complete with such worst quality, workmanship, unprofessionalism. They would yell on you if you ask them to correct something. I warned you and still if you make a mistake like me then please be aware and make sure you do all these 1. DO NOT give any advance to these looters. 2. Please make sure you discuss everything and write all possible details even though your contract completes in 10 pages. 3. Do not trust these guys and keep all the belongings and the main door shut as I also heard from those guys that Austin used to steal money and belongings from someone's houses in the past. 4. Please research all these procedures related to the project before they start, they always make you fool with lies. All the best!

    Blue Collar Roofing
Couldn't be happier with Chad and Blue Collar Roofing. I called a week or so ago to get an emergency check on my relatively new roof as we had a wet spot on the ceiling at the highest point in our house. Our house is very tall and Chad's tallest ladder was in the shop. Instead of declining the job, he came out personally on a Friday afternoon and examined it himself by climbing out of our top floor window. He informed us that 5 or so shingles were missing (likely blown off in recent rain/wind storm). Since rain was in the forecast for Sunday morning, Chad again came out personally Saturday morning to personally fix the roof. We were quoted a super reasonable price and couldn't be more satisfied with the service. We will definitely be recommending Blue Collar Roofing and will use them in a few years when we need a new roof.

Ralph Polito was recommended to me by Stuart Cohen of the Mike McCann team to do upgrades and repairs to my South Philly property. The hope was to get it in desirable shape for sale, but the majority of the feedback from those who viewed the property was that "the upgrades left a lot to be desired" and I ended up renting it out again. The work was completed around February and, in total, I spent $20,000. I was more concerned that the structural issues were successfully taken care of: most notably, the basement and the leak in the kitchen ceiling. After imploring Ralph to do a water test to make sure they knew exactly where the leak was coming from and how to fix it, I was assured and guaranteed that it was fixed (This leak has plagued me for several years and I had already spent 15,000 with a myriad of other workers who guaranteed that it was fixed). Lo and behold, I received an email from my tenants that there is still a leak coming in through the kitchen ceiling during rainstorms. I forwarded the email to Ralph immediately, who said he would get the roofer out to look at it ASAP. Nearly 2 weeks later, I am waiting for an update as to when it will be taken care of. With the amount of time that has surpassed, I have to assume that it will never get taken care of, especially since most of these guys are incompetent, scum-bag crooks, AND it doesn't take this long to schedule an appointment or respond to someone as a courtesy. I am extremely frustrated at not only Ralph Polito for swindling me, but also Stuart Cohen of the Mike McCann team for strongly recommending him as a "great and reliable contractor" (he has also not responded to any of the emails to the contractor for whom he gave a glowing recommendation and on which he was cc'd). This has clearly not been a positive experience with them, and I can't recommend either to do business with. I thought I could trust a realtor's knowledge in the field, especially since the McCann team deals with rehabs, investment properties, and renovations frequently. That was not the case here. Be forewarned. Stay away from both.

    Rafferty Roofing
I paid rafferty roofing on 7/8/19 to get my roof done for 450.00. I checked my roof on October 17, 2019 and my roof was never done and took pictures to proof it. I called and my mom called jack rafferty and he said he would issue a refund since it wasnt done and his workers didnt do the job at all. On october 23, 2019 I left work early because he said he was going to check the roof out and assumed I was getting my refund like he said and without my permission and when I wasnt home he went on my roof and quickly silver coated my roof so he didnt have to refund me even though he said he would. I have before and after pictures from oct. 17 and oct 23. Even after he silver coated on the 23 he didnt caulk my drain box. He didnt scrape paint or reseal my skylight or nail, cement and fabric any mappings or downseams.

    All Star Gutter LLC
I made an appointment with All Star Gutter to have them come out and look at a downspout that needs repair/possible replacement. The appointment was for between 9-12 p.m. I stayed home from work in anticipation of this appointment. When they did not show up, I called. I was told that they were "having trouble" getting to my house, whatever that means, and I should look for someone local. Total waste of my time.
