  • The brick facade of our 130+ year old row house was bulging out, which happens to many old houses in Center City.  Installing the bolts requires opening the ceiling in the interior of the house and running the rods from the outside through 4-5 joists.  Once tightened to about 50lb of torque, the star bolts keep the facade from progressing forward.
Provider name locked. , his son Provider name locked. , and crew did a great job.  They were careful to Provider name locked. down plastic on the floors and the furniture.  They were polite and courteous.  After installing the bolts, they spot pointed the brick, sealed it, and caulked the windows.  They also repaired the cut outs in the ceiling.  The entire job took about 3.5 days.  They cleaned up after every day.  Both Provider name locked. and Provider name locked. know a lot about the bricks on the older houses in Center City.
I did not give the price a grade since I have no way to judge if the charge of installing these bolts was on the inexpensive or expensive side or somewhere in between.   I was mostly concerned with the quality of the work and the competency of the workers.  The Provider name locked. 's deserve an "A" for this.  The facade looks great.  Nice family owned business.

  • He called me a few days after I contacted him, & we agreed upon a date & time when he would look at the work that I wanted done. He gave me a time range as to when he would arrive, between 11 a.m. & 4 p.m. on a Sunday--5 hours of waiting! So I waited all day.  I never heard from him again.
