  • Beware, they accepted our insurance policy when they did the work. No mention of any surcharges. Months later they decide to drop our insurance company and then back charge us for the work they already did and was approved. I would not recommend

  • Fantastic! I can't say enough positive things about the staff and the doctor himself! Professional, clean, and really takes the time to make sure you feel comfortable and you leave with a smile on your face, each and every time. I will never go to another dentist. I had many issues and now I can smile with confidence.

  • Like many men my age, my track record with medical and dental checkups is far from perfect. After years of neglect, I lost one of my remaining teeth about two months ago and decided that the time to see a dentist was long overdue. I chose Dr. Eidelson because his South Street office is very close to my home, and for once convenience really paid off. From the very first visit, I was treated in a professional and cordial manner. Dr. E used state-of-the-art technology to devise a comprehensive dental plan that would work for me. He patiently explained everything from modern implant procedures to eventual out-of-pocket costs. Weeks later, I am on the way to a restored and fully functioning dental alignment. What most impresses me about Dr. E is his continuing educational investment in his profession. He regularly attends professional workshops and conferences, and has taught and consulted at several of Philadelphia's best dental schools. His colleagues and staff are also highly trained and very competent. Let's face it: a trip to the dentist will never compare with a day at the beach. But you can be sure that Dr. Eidelson makes the process as tolerable as possible.

  • Have been his patient for years.  He always finds time to handle an emergency.  Always makes you feel safe and comfortable.  He and office staff provide excellent service.  Before him I was afraid to go to the dentist.

  • He is a holistic dentist. He is wonderful.  It has been excellent. He is a mercury free, fluoride free dentist who does excellent work. I haven't had any problems at all. He is my dentist till he retires.

  • Don is  experienced with his work and amazingly he took short time to make them and in the first try itself  everything went well.  When I got the new ones I had little pain and he corrected it right away. His son also works with him and he is extremely good. I do not hesitate in recommending Don  yo take care of any dental issues.
Only thing some people may not appreciate  is Don is talkative and explains pros and cons up front.  My husband and I enjoyed his humor and outspokenness. Had I gone to my previous dentist he would have made me go about 6 o7 trips.  Impression itself will go wrong then he tries to correct it and has to send to a lab for making them. Then some problem? send to lab? so it takes weeks to get them alright and then the pain and adjustment  is different matter.

  • They are very professional. It is a pretty painless experience overall as far as routine teeth cleaning kind of stuff. They are pretty responsive, they call you and make appointments, and the wait time is not really long. The staff is good. The receptionist is pretty proactive about reaching out to you, and coordinating appointments, and the hygienists do a good job. The dentist also does a good job.

  • He is the best in the area. Hugely smart, always has the newest tools (for example he milled a crown for me in his office, same day). He has the most delicate touch, never has he poked too aggressively at a painful area. He is willing to avoid procedures (drill is not his first choice). He's a perfectionist and a genius. Dr. George's office is white and minimal, extremely modern. If you can get an appointment, go for it.

  • Focusing on the final two appointments, for fitting and inserting the new cap, both went extremely well. I had to reschedule each because of travel. His office staff was very flexible in rescheduling, and helpful in offering scheduling alternatives. At every appointment I walked in to the office just a minute or two before the scheduled time and was immediately shown to a treatment room. Each appointment took exactly as long as I had been told it would take. All of his staff took care to explain exactly what would happen and how long each step would take. They also anticipated insurance and billing issues and handled them efficiently. During the work itself, Dr. Petchalonis was careful to describe each step as it took place. He even provided sun glasses to soften the glare of his work light! Whether there were x-rays to review, the temporary or new caps to examine, or whatever, I always was given the chance to see everything and have it explained. Dr. P even noted the amount of anesthetic that was necessary to truly numb the work area (for me, somewhat more than most people), and administered that exact amount for each visit. During the preparation of the teeth for the cap he described what he was drilling and why, how the mold for the permanent cap was created, and all about the temporary cap. During the installation of the permanent cap a few weeks later he again explained each step, including why he wasn't using anesthetic (it really wasn't needed). That particular visit was very quick! Dr. P also has a pleasant "bedside manner", taking time, but not too much, to make small talk which made each visit more enjoyable.

  • This is the most dental work I've ever had done, and thus far I've been pretty happy. The crowns are the major work, and I find them to still be somewhat sensitive. This is pretty normal from what I know, but I'm hoping they'll settle down at some point.
Dr. Backiel uses extended service dental assistants, which basically means that she does the drilling and prep for the crowns, but the assistant does the actual fillings, molds, and crown placements. This is fine by me, as it seems to keep the wait times down, and the staff is very pleasant for the most part.
The only negative I have to say is that one of the hygienists always seems very rushed, and I didn't feel did a great job. I asked to be switched, and they did so; I'll see how the new person does at my next visit.
An interesting tidbit about this office is that Dr. Backiel brings her dog (I think it's a bichon) to the office, and if you come at the end of the day you might see the pooch walking around. Some may not like this, but I find it a nice diversion from the usual dental office environment.
