Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • They just nickel and dime you with their fees.  They even charged me to close my account.  As far as I'm concerned they're crooks.  The actual customer service people were fine...it was the administrative rules and fees they had to follow.  They are also one of the few banks that doesn't have have a phone app and their on-line banking was very poor.  Their hours aren't very good either.

  • I love my new bank. They are excellent and they just opened up a new branch near my house in Fishtown!. They are ultra professional in person at the bank. But the few times I have called the bank they have been a little rude. just wish the friendliness and courteousness on the phone as they have in person.

  • The categories don't really fit a bank! We have used Freedom for years, but I have to say I think the service has really slipped in recent years. It's harder to get a "real person." I had an issue recently where I lost my ATM card and had to get a replacement. I was told I could pay extra to have it overnight (but the person on the other end of the phone didn't know the fee!) I thought it was worth doing and the card arrived the next day. I didn't try to use it unti the weekend only to find that I needed to call the branch to activate it and couldn't do so until Monday. This was never explained to me. I called the branch Monday and said that I felt I shouldn't be charged a fee for overnighting since none of this was explained to me. I was told that would be up to a supervisor who would call me back. I'm still waiting - that was a month ago. When we first joined customer service seemed to be first and foremost. The incident I described is one of several in recent years.  When I have some time I am going seriously explore other options.   Credit unions are far better than banks but still you want good service.
