I started seeing Dr. Hyer a couple times a year for check-ups for an chronic condition. I chose him because there isn't a huge selection of Rheumatologists in town and his office was convenient for me and he took my insurance. I do think that he knows what he's doing and is an okay doctor. However, I don't feel he gives me the consideration and communication I need. I suspect because I am much younger than his usual patient (started seeing him in my early 20's), he shruggs off my concerns and makes me feel like I'm silly for asking about various symptoms I have. Additionally, when he updated my original diagnosis because of new symptoms that had developed, he failed to fully explain what the new diagnosis meant and what other symptoms/tests I needed to watch out for. The worst thing about going to him, however, is his staff. His office manager/receptionist has been rude to me (on multiple occasions, not just one bad day) and particularly so when I asked for copies of my records when I decided to find a new doctor.

Mom has been having lung issues for several years and Dr Sladek has been treating the lung issues as auto immune disease. He started out with least invasive plan of action and has slowly accelerated the treatment. He is very straight forward with pros and cons of different treatments. You do have to ask a lot of questions but he takes the time to answer each one and explain reasoning. She is still undergoing treatment but I am not sure that anything can really make her condition better due to age and physical condition overall. Staff is very helpful and professional.

He doesn't really listen to what you say. He kind of listens, but then gives you CD to his website. He then wants you to pray to the east and then rub oil on yourself. He uses meditate to treat things. He doesn't prescribe anything, and doesn't provide treatments.  He didn't even come into the room. He stood in the doorway and told me that there was nothing he could do for me. You could get an appointment, if needed. He was punctual, and his staff was friendly. He did not do anything, any of the times I was there. The office is a little house that was turned into an office. I did not like it. I would not go to him, and I would advise people against going to him.

My wife has been seeing her for over a year after trying several other rheumatologists in the area. Her case is not the norm, and Dr. Freeman is the only rheumy that has gone above and beyond to help her. Outstanding doctor.

I think very highly of this doctor. From the front office to the doctor, the treatment is very positive. He spends plenty of time and listens well. When I was there last time, he noticed I had a cough. It is not his focus of medicine but he listened and advised that I had bronchitis.

The whole office experience was a very good one. My husband and I will be using doctors from this entire group practice this spring.
