    This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. The first time I called unfortunately was about 4 days prior to Hurricane Irma coming so they were understandably busy, we set an appointment for 3 weeks later. I called a couple of times to see if there was any cancellations to get on the schedule and there were none and each time it felt as if I was burdening them. When the day came for the appointment I called to get an estimated time which they could not give me because of the way they schedule. Needless to say they did not show up. I called to reschedule again took a couple of weeks to get on the schedule, a service tech came out though we were unable to do anything as there were apparently some code issues and they needed to schedule time to come out. I tried to get an estimate on pricing and was told that there wasn't really a good estimate as they charge based on 15 minute intervals, my estimate was around $600. A few days later I called to try and get a more firm estimate and to request a rate I was willing to pay higher than the estimate just to make sure that it was in reason, and confirmed the appointment for a few days later. Appointment came and no one showed up, I called back and they said I did not confirm. We scheduled again for another appointment I tired to get another estimate and was told something similar. In the meantime I received a bill of which I called to ask if I could pay after service was completed they said that would work and were supposed to note it in the file. A few days later I receive another bill with a late fee I called to get that rectified and no one seemed to be able to do anything. The day it came to finally get someone out I called in the morning and was informed I was 7th on the list I said that seems like it won't happen and was told it would be in the middle of the afternoon. Afternot receiving any calls I called at 3:00 and asked what the ETA was, a call was placed to the tech and no one called me. An hour later I called and was told that the tech was pulled off the job and wouldn't make it out and that the job was going to be signifigantly longer and more expensive than I was previously told. I said I would find someone else.

    Issue after issue for years. Tanks that leaked and had to be replaced. Tried to charge us for leaks. Puts invoices on door handle that blows away vs mailing. Nickel and dimes for everything. Horrible customer service.

    Our new home had an existing propane tank to heat the pool and spa. The tank was with another service provider and after reading about many bad experiences with that provider, we decided to go with Discount Propane. They were very professional from start to finish. When we called they asked us about the propane tank and explained that they were required to give the old propane company 2 days written notice of their intent to install a new tank on our property. We agreed to this and had an appointment set up immediately. Based on our research, the estimate they gave us to install and fill a new tank was very competitive.

    When the tech came out to do the job he informed us that we actually owned the tank on our property, so we would not need to pay for a new tank to be installed. This cut the cost of the job by 2/3 what we were quoted. I'm sure a dishonest company could have just installed a new tank, hauled off the old tank, and charged us the full amount, especially since we were not expecting to own the tank on our property. Needless to say, we were very pleased and impressed by this service! I should also add that the tech was very prompt and arrived at the scheduled appointment time.

    We chose to install a propane tank on our property over natural gas for a new pool in Baldwin Park because Teko Gas was going to charge over $1500 and put us on a waiting list of over 3 months.  In comparison, M&M installed a propane tank for $800 in less than 2 weeks.  They gave us a reasonable estimate and the work was done very quickly.  The technician was professional and efficient.  The only negative was that we were unable to pass our initial pool inspection because the propane line was installed within 3 feet of a control panel's path.  Although it took a while to get in touch with the technician to fix the error, they moved the gas line at no additional cost.  Overall, we had a great experience with this company and would definitely use them again in the future.

    If they tell you that you have to call back when Gary is in, just leave a message for him.  He's good about responding and so are the installers that come out.  Very nice and professional people.

    I called an made an appointment with them and they were very accomodating.  The day before the appointment they called and said that someone in their office lost all my paperwork and could I send it to them again.  I did, and they called me back to say that they couldn't do the install as promissed and wanted to move the appointment for 3 weeks from now.   Unbelievable Bad Service.  Don't believe anything they tell you.  Its not going to happen

    We had to work directly with Gary Lovelace - since we were connecting our propane tank to our generator.  It was sometimes difficult to connect with him, and especially to nail down the installation date.  But, overall - we are very pleased with the work that was done and the price for products/services received.  Finally, we were thrilled to learn that we wouldn't have a problem with getting the tank filled as needed if/when a hurricane hits our area.

    Upon moving into my new residence the Discount Propane tank was already installed and was told by the realtor, or so I thought, that the gas in the tank was paid for and Discount Propane would most likely be sending me something in the mail soon to establish my own account.   Since it was Discount Propane's tank you can't get delivery from any other gas company so it wasn't as though whoever bought the house could anything but work with them.

    Several weeks after moving in, the hot tub stopped heating up so I called Discount Propane and they advised me a technician came out and blocked the gas because they didn't know if someone was living there.  I said "couldn't you have simply left a note on the door" and "didn't you see all the lawn furniture by the hot tub"?  But they said no and advised I had to pay (approximately $85)  for then to send a technician to "unblock" the gas line and do a "safety check".  This involved a tech coming out an simply taking a crescent wrench, removing a small copper blocker (at the tank valve), reconnecting / tightening the line, and opening the gas valve on the tank. I wasn't happy about paying for a "safety inspection" that amounted to the tech walking around my heater and say everything "looked good"....but I chalked it up as a simple miscommunication. 



    Discount Propane has no online payment system which is how I pay all my bills. They do have a program where you can give them authorization to charge your credit card, but I am uncomfortable with that information being out there.  In addition, they have a net 10 day payment policy and because I travel for a week or two at a time getting a payment in quickly enough proved challenging at times and I usually called and paid by credit card.   

    At one point, I was a few weeks late on the rental (about $7 month / $21 per qtr without fees and taxes) and I received a call from my girlfriend that there was a Discount Propane technician waiting in front of our house when she returned.  He was demanding a payment of $50 dollars or he would shut off our gas. I told her we only owe about $24 and that if he wanted to shut off the gas  then go ahead...I was out of town and there as nothing I could do.  He hung around in front of our house for a bit, which made her feel uncomfortable, called his office and then left.  I returned a day or two later,  paid the bill and asked them to take me off automatic delivery.

    Fast forward about a year later (maybe more)...my tank is getting low so I called for delivery. The office personnel says her computer shows I have a block on my gas line.  I told her I have been using it for many months and was just in it the night before so that is impossible.   She put me on hold to speak with the office manager and then tells me I will have to pay $100 for a technician to come out and check the system because she is showing I have a blocked line.  I replied that why should I have to pay $100 for their administrative error...that makes no sense.  I was put on hold again and was then told they will only charge $50....again, I ask why I should pay anything as I just need a gas delivery and clearly there is an error on their end. I was then told this was another "safety check" to which I said this is ridiculous and unethical.   I was told that was final and they would not deliver any gas unless I paid the $50 charge.  I told them I would use the remainder of the tank and then have it removed...they said ok and seemed to have cared less.  Again, you can only get gas from them if you rent their tank (so you may want to think about purchasing one if you will be in your home long term).

    They picked up the tank a few days ago and I checked it that morning (it had about 15 left on the gauge).  I am interested to see if they issue me a credit for that gas or for the last 6 weeks of the rental fee I paid.  Either way, I would not do business with Discount Propane again.

    Great people!  They did exactly what they said they would do.  Super easy going group and delivered on what they said they would do.  They called us months later about a recently published rebate for our tankless hot water heater....and they even completed the paper work for the rebate.  Who does that any more?  They do.   Would absolutely do business with them again.

    I can't recommend them enough, Gary was fantastic and we are so happy to have found them. Installers did a wonderful job with running/concealing the gas lines and installing the tank - they even replanted a shrub that had to be removed. One of the better experiences of our kitchen remodel.
