    SUN BARRIER PRODUCTS INC
Major issues with Sun Barrier response and scheduling. However, no issue with Sun Barrier cashing our check. We received a quote from Sun Barrier on March 8, 2018. We sent an email response to the quote on March 15, 2018 and there was no response. We send a second email message as well as a phone message on April 25th since we didnt hear back from the March 15 email we sent to Sun Barrier. We sent another email was sent to Sun Barrier on April 27th and found out that there was an issue with our email response going to Sun Barrier junk email (Sun Barrier should check junk email, if this is a reoccurring problem or have IT set differing parameters). On May 12th Sun Barrier requested additional information to continue with the contract. We reacted quickly to move this project forward (since we started it in March). We were told on May 16th that once the deposit was received we would have someone out to complete final measurements in 4-5 weeks with installation shortly following. On May 19th, we sent a message to Karla that we signed the contract and sent a deposit of $1863 that was cashed on May 24th by Sun Barrier. So, our timeline expectation was four weeks at June 21st or five weeks at June 28th. However, those weeks came and went. To follow up, we have sent numerous emails and phone calls to get a timeline on final measurement and installation. We sent an email on July 2nd to check the status of final measurements with no Sun Barrier response. We sent a second email on July 9th to check the status, with no Sun Barrier respond. We sent a third email on July 12th to check the status, with no email response. We called Sun Barrier the week of July 12th to check the status and finally got a response and were told another four weeks of wait time (outside the original agreement). However, on July 13th we were told we had an appointment with Chuck the next week. However, that appointment for measurement was never confirmed by Sun Barrier. We were asked to schedule for the next week and we told Sun Barrier the following Thursday or Friday would be fine. However, once again, we have received no return emails or phone calls. Then again, on July 28th we sent another email trying to get a response. Were not sure what is going on within the company, but this is very bad business. How many times do we need to call and email for a service? For being an A rated Angies list provider, we are extremely disappointed. Sun Barrier cashed our deposit on May 24th and we are going into week 10 (definitely not the 4-5 weeks we were quoted). Had we known the difficulties we would be facing, we would have chosen a different company.

    Atlantic Storm Protection
I contacted this company based on Angie's List recommendation and spoke to Daisy. I was interested in purchasing window and door storm protection for my house and was told that the owner, who was standing next to her, said their company was not licensed to perform jobs in Orlando. I have friends in Orlando who have used this company in the past so I don't know if they lost their license or just not interested in my business. Daisy then referred me to another company.

Technicians arrived on time. Developed and discussed work plan. Took my input seriously and worked with me to make upgrade relatively affordable. Received a written bill. Pleasant and professional technicians.

    Gator Blinds and Shutters
We had measurements taken before closing on our house. The house purchase wasn't smooth but when we finally were ready blinds had all our measurements. This came back out, talked us through everything and in 4 weeks our home was complete! Quick, smooth and handled all our hiccups easily.

Clean-up every day; installation was flawless and perfect - unlike competitors whose installations I saw were flawed & sloppy. Staff incredibly polite and clean. Would hire again in a heartbeat. Prices competitive or better.

    Custom Storm & Security Shutters
His extremely professional and courteous installation team arrived on time and performed a highly accurate installation of the 3 roll-up hurricane shutters, which are approximately 12 feet wide by 10 feet tall. And at the end of each day they meticulously cleaned up the work area and neatly stacked their tools for the next day. The custom installation included their (patented?) application of stucco to all exposed aluminum surfaces, including an aluminum enclosure which encapuslated the workings of all 3 shutters providing a seamless cover which perfectly blended with the immediate surroundings. All exposed surfaces were then painted to match the stucco of the surrounding area. And the texture of the stucco and the color of paint were perfect match! My 3 new storm shutters were adjusted to line up exactly with each adjacent shutter, and they work perfectly with my new remote. And they look fabulous with the workings all hidden by their custom enclosure!!!!! The quality of materials and installation was simply incredible, and all for a price lower than the nearest competitor!!

    Custom Storm & Security Shutters
I'm not sure there is enough space or time to write the good report here.
I found Custom Storm Shutters Direct on Angies's list. Steve was the second vendor I had come give us an estimate. His relaxed attitude was a big plus but it was his portfolio that sold us. His price was competitive with all other estimates.
Steve came up with a design that made the shutters look like they were built in. Even the electrical inspector thought we were just fixing previously installed shutters. He was surprised to hear that the walls covering the motors were new.
Once we began enjoying the privacy, protection and fun of the shutters, we realized that our front door was very vulnerable. There have been a rash of home robberies in southwest Orlando. We didn't want the house to look like a barred fortress, so we came up with the idea of putting the shutters on the inside of the doors. Steve and his crew worked diligently to make the shutters look like an original part of the entryway. Even my friend asked if the shelf under the window had always been there. She has been in and out that door for over 15 years! My neighbors love the look of seeing our doors with what looks like just louvers on the inside. EVERYONE is totally impressed!
Steve and his crew are artisans and you will be very happy with their work and their attitude.

    SUN BARRIER PRODUCTS INC
Was first introduced to Sun Barrier at the Orlando Home Show. We were impressed with the quality of the product but not the sales associates familiarity with the line which would later be obvious. The shutter that was demoed to us was not the shutter that was installed. When the issue was raised it was remotely addressed, in the end we were not happy. The whole process seemed disorganized at best. We were left feeling that they really didn't care about our feed back or satisfaction. We never got a follow up phone call or thank you from Sun Barrier, not necessarily good business. In fact a week after installation we discovered one of the shutters isn't even hung on center, something we would have liked to share with them, however at this point we are over the whole experience.

    SHUTTERMAN
After requesting an estimate a person came and measured the window openings. Another person came to check measurements and provided 3 estimates based on using various types of shutters. We agreed on what type of shutters we wanted, placed an order and was told it would take approximately six weeks. Approximately 8 weeks later we were contacted and notified that the shutters were ready. We agreed on an install date and was told it would take approximately 1 full work day. The installers showed up between 10:30 and 11am and worked until approximately 6pm. All accordion shutters were installed satisfactorily. However the colonial shutters could not be installed as the measurements taken were not accurate and the shutters would not meet building code requirements and would not pass inspection. New measurements were taken and new colonial shutters were ordered. I was told it would be approximately 5 to 6 weeks to get the shutters but they would try and expedite. I paid a follow up amount for the installation of the accordion shutters as there were no issues with the shutters or installation. However it has now been over 2 months, I have followed up several times on when this will be completed. I have left voice mail messages and only response has been that 1) the shutters were built and were ready to be painted and several weeks later 2) shutters have come out of paint and should be ready shortly. We are now in hurricane season with one storm already having hit the area and the work is still not completed. In addition to the work not being completed I still have the original colonial shutters that did not fit the windows sitting in my garage taking up my space for 2 months now. Also there are 4 shutters there that they left that were ordered for someone else that was left in my garage. Help!! I want to get this nightmare over with and get the work completed. As mentioned I have no problem with the original accordion shutter installation. However now there is no customer follow up by Shutterman and I have only been contacted by the installers who are subcontractors. The principal that I had dealt with at Shutterman (Steve Risi) has not contacted me despite multiple attempts by me as all calls now go to voice mail. Initial installation was fine other then installers showing up late in the day. But since then this has been a nightmare and I can not recommend this group to others.

    SHUTTERMAN
From start to finish the installation was painless. The owner and estimator arrived when they said they would. The order was placed the day of the estimation (50% down and 50% when work completed). Estimated delivery and installation was 4 weeks from date of deposit. On 4 June the equipment and hardware was delivered and installed within 3 hrs to our satisfaction by a very efficient 2 man crew. The lead foreman Alan and his assistant Cody after completion went over just how to place the shutters on the rails.
