    They have poor customer service, and scheduling. The overall attitude of the people we've spoke with was just terrible, from the service tech all the way out to whoever the manager is. If you ask for a manager they give you somebody else. They give you a $10-11 an hour person.

    I technically have AT&T Uverse which is for internet and TV, but they couldn't get the internet to work in my area, so they just let me keep TV, which is something that they don't normally do. I have signal issues sometimes. I am happy with the price that I got, I am sure they are going to raise it, but thats with all cable companies. I don't know if it is in my neighborhood, they had a truck here the other day digging up and we didn't have cable the whole day, but they are good, the picture is good, and the channels are way better than another company. It doesn't seem like their customer service and tech support service talk, I had to call for the internet service, and had to repeat everything like they didn't know what was going on. They are professional.

    It is a disaster. They are overpriced for home coverage like landline, and cable TV. Once you sign the contract, between the landline, the cell, the computer, the cable and TV, you are stuck. The price is ridiculous. I have had more issues with the computer and TV. We have been with them for years, their customer service is lacking, and they change things on the computer and don't even tell you. You are forced to go physically into the store, and their customer reps are like a bunch of zombies. I am not satisfied with them. We have been with them since 2003. The professionalism is mediocre.

    They are acceptable and they do everything. There are power outages and things that cause problems but it's not their fault. It's just the equipment we have it reset all the time. They do what they can do and I guess everybody complains about the cable people and we don't complain as much though. They come when they say they are going to.

    The installer showed up promptly and was very personable and professional. He surveyed the area where my tv was initially mounted in the bedroom with exposed outlets and wiring and remounted it centrally with "no exposure of wiring or cable box". My wife was in awe.  Our bedroom almost looked like a mini theater room. This was at the very least an "arduous task" with electrical rewiring and placement". His recommendations were solid and sound! I would recommend this company hands down and can personally attest to all of the positive reviews received.

    We've had brighthouse cable and internet for several years and the cable service was fine.  We don't get premium channels, but the DVR worked well and we were satisfied with that part of the service.  Phone is fine too. When we had service problems, Brighthouse was able to address them remotely or with one service visit. Internet is an entirely different story.
    We moved to a new address two years ago, less than a mile from our old address, and our internet service from Brighthouse has always been spotty and unreliable here.  In the last year, it has really deteriorated and finally got to the point where it was down more often than not. We bought a better router, but the connection continued to drop in and out repeatedly.   In the last four weeks alone, we've had to schedule SIX service calls to our house to fix the internet problems.  Each time, the technician would say it was fixed, and the service would work for a day or an hour and then fail again.  Each time, they would send a new technician who knew nothing about what the prior technician did or tried.  Brighthouse reran a cable through our yard.  A couple of their techs said we needed a new line run under the house, but later ones disagreed.  When scheduling the sixth visit, we were assured that the supervisor who came for the fifth visit (three days earlier) would be back.  NO ONE showed up in the scheduled timeframe 8-10 am. When we called about that, they agreed to send the supervisor between 12 and 2.  So after missing most of a day of work to wait on Brighthouse again, the guy who showed up was another new guy who knew nothing more than "your internet isn't working."   He blamed the router that 5 other techs saw no problem with and left with nothing fixed.  We still have no idea what the underlying problem is.  A few hours later, service was up again, sporadically.  We're not too hard to please generally, but we've given up on Brighthouse and will be canceling.  I haven't heard great things about U-Verse from AT&T, but it's got to be better than what we've gotten from Brighthouse.  They don't seem to know how to fix the problem or care enough to send someone who can figure it out.

    AT&T U-verse
    The installation went very badly.  The installer drilled right through the main power line, setting the yard on fire and scorching the side of the house.  AT&T did pay for the repairs, but I had to do all the calling to their insurance provider to get it paid.  The service technician and supervisor were quite apologetic, but I'd much rather they not try to burn my house down in the first place.
    Once the electrical problems were fixed, the installation was completed successfully.
    The television service worked, and I liked the DVR much better than the Bright House one it was replacing.  However, I was not able to record TV programs on my media center PCs, as I was expressly assured I could before I ordered the service.  I could do that with Bright House.
    The internet service was excellent.  The controls for the router were fully available to me, which is important since I have a much more sophisticated network setup than your typical plug-and-play consumer.  They provided native IPv6 service, which worked flawlessly without any tweaking on my part.  The signal strength of the wireless router reached throughout my home.  Much better than Bright House, which allows no router configuration at all, no native IPv6, and the wireless signal did not cover my home.
    We tested the phone service, which worked well, but since we use our cel phones (also with AT&T) I can't really address the quality of service.
    The monthly service charges were less than Bright House, even though our BH package did not include phone.  The U-verse setup of one DVR which can be watched from any TV using a wireless receiver is a better setup than the one DVR per TV setup that Bright House uses.  However, the one DVR can record just 4 simultaneous programs for the whole household, as compared to the 15 simultaneous recordings available through BH with 3 DVRS and 3 media center PCs.
    It was ultimately that last point that caused us to cancel the service.  We have 3 adults in the household, and 4 simultaneous channels just isn't enough.  This led to the final bad experience, which was that when we cancelled the service, AT&T refused to refund the installation fee, even though they expressly said they would before I order the service.
    Don't bother to call the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to complain about that.  Even though they are required by state law to handle complaints about cable tv, they say you should call the local franchise authority, which no longer exist because of that same state law.

    Bright House
    Somethings are good about them, and somethings are not. We rarely loose service compared to our other home, where we lose service all the time. I wish there was something else to choose other than direct Tv just for comparison. It seems like they increase costs every month. We pay $168 per month, and we have no premium channels. I am very unhappy with that. It is cheaper than if I had separate companies providing each service. When I first signed up, I said I wanted the fastest internet speed, and every time the technology improved, the cost went up.

    Used to live in Greenwood IN and Comcast service provider is awful there - my friends and relatives there would switch to Bright House in an instant if Bright House ever arrived there.

    It went just fine.  The service tech showed promptly within our appointment time.  Although he encountered some technical difficulties in making the switch in the phone service, he worked through them very professionally, and was very thorough about then checking to make sure that all of my Bright House services were working properly.
