    Verdi Eye Specialists
I have been happy with Dr Verdi.  He gave me full information and advice before the two cataract surgeries and has provided regular follow up checkups.  My only complaint is that he tends to fall behind his schedule.  Part of that is due to his wanting to make sure his patients understand everything.

I have been seeing Dr. Evans for three years now.  Having a medical condition that could affect my eyesight, it is important for me to have someone that gives me an honest evaluation.  Dr. Evans and his staff do just that, very expertly and efficiently.  He spends the time to explain things to you, unlike the previous ophthalmologist that I was seeing.  I feel that I get top notch here and would recommend him to anyone.

    Venkat Reddy MD
Dr Reddy saw me very quickly after my detachment was diagnosed and operated the next day;    I required some extra procedures and follow-up and Dr. Reddy explained everything quite well.  He was also accessible by phone for some questions about the follow-up.  His office staff are all quite friendly and effective.

The doctor's assistant gets an updated health history (any problems, new medications or surgeries, etc), tests your visual acuity with an eye chart, tests your eye pressure, confirms the prescription of your eyeglasses. finally, if needed, the assistant instills eyedrops to dilate your pupil for a retinal exam. You wait in the waiting room for the drops to take effect, then are called back in to see the doctor, who again confirms any problems you may be having. The doctor examines your eyes and determines if any treatment is needed. I have found all the doctors whom I have seen in this practice review their findings and recommendations with caring, thoughtful dialogue.

    Paul, Dr. Griffey M.
Dr. Griffey was thorough and reassuring. He explained my current eyesight and how middle-aged cateracts are appearing on the scene and the likely scenarios, should they progress.
We reviewed when and how often to use eye drops.
I know him to be current in all aspects of opthamology and feel confident in following his guidance.

    Verdi, Dr. Vincent J
My left vision was degenerating due to a cataract.  Dr. V explained that unless both eyes were corrected, I could not get the best correction because there would be too great a difference between the quality of vision in two eyes.  I had a lesser cataract in the right so I decided to go ahead with both.  He tested me to see if my astygmatism would be corrected by a non-covered torq lens.  Only one eye would benefit.  While some docs would insert variable focus lenses or one lens for reading and one for distance, Dr V would only use the same type of fixed lens in each eye because of the state of the art at the time.  Things may have changed.  I felt I was kept fully informed and fully tested prior to the procedures.  The surgeries themselves were short (under 15 min) and uneventful.  He has followed up every six months since.

    Sheppard, Dr. John D
They are so specialized over there that if I have one thing done I go to one doctor. I was wearing contact lenses and I would go to Dr. Sheppard for dry eye. I had some sort of pre-diabetic problem with my eyes then they shifted me over to the other doctor who is a specialist in that. Then I had something else and they shifted me to another doctor. It got better and then I went back to the other doctor. It's a huge place and they have 10 different doctors who are all specialist. They are top notch every one of them. They are at the top of their field and they do research. Some of the doctors in there write articles. Every one of those doctors there are artist in their field. I would rate him highly. I would continue to use him in the future.

    Blaylock, Dr. William K.
He did an absolutely awesome job.  If you are considering eyelid surgery, he’s the man to go to.  He has a ton of experience and he came highly recommended.  His office staff is phenomenal.  I’m on Medicare and they made some extra calls and had no problems doing that. The Norfolk office is a little bit older and not the nicest but it was sufficient.

Overall, the experience was as expected. The practice participated in my vision plan. The office was clean and the staff friendly. The technician doing the initial work up was thorough, and informative. My physician, Dr. Ayesha Rahman, took the time to discuss the tests, results and any questions I had, and she spoke in layman's terms. This is very important to me.

The only complaint I have is that they were scheduling appointments 45 days out. This almost caused me to go elsewhere, but I'm glad I didn't. I would gladly recommend this practice to others.
