David and his team are consummate professionals. I have hired them for numerous jobs from handyman work, to painting, to full renovations. They do an excellent job and are efficient. They also charge very fair prices. All of my clients have been thrilled with David and his team and I now call him for jobs almost weekly. He is very trustworthy and meticulous in his work. I will continue to call him for repairs and renovations. Just excellent and a true pleasure to work with.

    paintworks.nyc
With just a 3-day window between closing on our new apartment and our move-in date, Ryan assured us Paintworks would be able to get the job done, which entailed painting the entire apartment (even though another company quoted "7-10 business days." - and more than twice the cost). With a lot riding on it we put our trust in Paintworks, and they did not disappoint. They were punctual, professional, thorough, and did a fantastic job for us. We also had them paint a wood cabinet entertainment center and it turned out beautifully. And they didn't stop after the job was completed. Ryan followed up with us a few days later, and then a couple of weeks later to ensure our satisfaction. You can't go wrong with Paintworks. And if we ever need another painting company, we would go back to Paintworks in a heart beat.

    Supreme Renovation A2Z
Mike and Aslam of Supreme renovations truly did a supreme job with my bathroom remodeling project. They were quick, thorough amd most importantly honest amd diligent along the way. They came in early and left early: 3 day job only took them 1.5 days and they did so much more than what I had asked for. I am truly happy with the installation of vanity, new sink with new plumbing, new installation of medicine cabinet and new mount and installation of light fixture. They also did a beautiful job installing a new frameless shower door and reglazed the bathtub. They do it all!!! Highly recommend these guys and I will definely be hiring them for future projects for my Manhattan condo!

    Supreme Renovation A2Z
In remodeling my bathroom, Supreme Renovation A2Z exceeded all my expectations. They assisted me in picking out materials, completed my bathroom remodel expeditiously and anticipated all work needs ahead of time. They were fastidious in ordering needed materials, incredibly efficient, and conscientious in their work ethic. They redid my bathroom from top to bottom. I literally cannot say enough good things about their work. Everything ran like clockwork and they were a pleasure to work with. And to top it off, I am thrilled with my new bathroom. I highly recommend them for any and all renovation projects. They are among the BEST in the business.

    Pixel Electrical
Joseph is a gem, and I'd work with him again without question. He was transparent about pricing, worked quickly and met deadlines, and was particularly gracious about dealing with the inevitable "scope creep" of my projects. Electrical work feels high-stakes to me, since it has to be reliable and safe for years to come; Joseph's professionalism and his emphasis on safety impressed me, and I have a lot of confidence and trust in the work he did in my apartment. Perhaps most helpful of all, Joseph was willing to manage the non-electrical aspects of my renovation: he secured and oversaw subcontractors who did demolition, wall repair, and painting, which meant that I could communicate all my needs directly to him. Finally, I was on a very tight time frame and, for various reasons, didn't have the ability to get multiple bids from electricians; if you are in a similarly nerve-wracking situation, just hire Joseph.

    BNH Home Improvement
To Whom It May Concern: I would like to take this opportunity to warn future consumers about a Contracting business currently operating as BNH Construction NY or BNH Home Improvement, license # 1433553-DCA operating in the city of New York. Let me explain why I am taking this action. The owner of the company, Adam Chen will chase you and call you back until you sign the contract and give a deposit. After that, calls, emails and texts are completely ignored. When they finally show up to start the renovation, they send a crew that has no experience and is basically learning the job on your dime. I was told by their foreman, that they "fired" several of the workers because of the poor quality of their work. This after they had done a lot of work in my apartment. I was promised an English speaking worker every day and that was not the case. I had no way of communicating with the workers, as Mr. Chen seldom picked up his cell. There were different workers showing up daily who had no idea of where the project was and no knowledge of construction.Their work is shabby, messy, unprofessional and there is not one single thing that was done correctly in my home on the first try. They ruined the electric in a brand new fan, they scratched my brand new 50 inch Sony TV, the hardwood floor installation was a disaster with more scratches than straight lines, they installed my basin faucet crooked, chipped my brand new Quartz vanity top, had to repaint several walls since they were too lazy to clean their brushes in between colors, the tile floor in the bathroom had to be re-done twice, they broke a professional lighted makeup mirror, they hung a wall mount TV without painting the wall behind it. They had no regard for the few personal items that were left in my apartment. My clothing (which I had left protected with heavy plastic bags) was somehow covered with construction dust. My printer, small tv, cable boxes and routers were thrown around like garbage. They disappeared for weeks, even months at a time blaming it on the city, awaiting permits, while it actually was because their crew was sent to work on a different job. While I am discussing permits, I have waited since July, for the plumbing permit final inspection. I have called the DOB several times and they have no record of the inspection being requested. At the writing of this letter, it is May 31st. While there was a short delay due to lack of communication with my architect, I am living with an unworkable kitchen as a result of their permit issues. If you hire BNH be prepared for a 6 to 8 week job to last at least 12 months and a barrage of lies and excuses. If you are ok with a "crap job" these guys are for you. I am notifying the better business bureau and will file a complaint with the licensing division for contractors.I have photographs of many of the issues as proof of the quality of their workmanship. You will see how they left a radiator painted, floors missing grout, closet doors that don't close, floor molding installed crooked, cabinet hinges installed improperly, my stove still unconnected 1 year after the start of the work, door knobs glued on, no paint behind a wall mount tv and it goes on and on... Please note: there is no option for rotating photos, so please look closely

    Modern green construction
The project manager and contact was Bobby. I reached out to a few companies via Angies list and he was one of the first ones to respond and come to give an estimate. He seemed professional, easy going and confident that he and his team could do the job. Over the last 40 years of owning homes and practices, I am quite familiar how a project should go. My subjective opinion and advice would be DO NOT HIRE this company at any cost. Invariably, You will be losing valuable time and the next contractor will have to come in and redo the mess and chaos that was inflicted. Objective: 1) in one weeks time that we kept giving an opportunity for this to work, only some small plastering took place. 2) the electrician made a complete mess and broke a built in wood paneling cabinet. 3) Bobby fraudulently represented himself as this company (modern green) but, he asked that the check be made out to AL construction... a bait and switch?? 4) the final straw was when we arrived after a day of them plastering and the complete office had debris and plaster dust over EVERYTHING.... Nothing was protected with plastic or tarps. My built in medical equipment was exposed and not protected. This was an extremely upsetting experience and I urge You to do diligence and research this fraudulent set up before You commit. Thankfully I did hire a new company that was amazing and completed my job on time.

    Picasso Expert Renovations
I found Picasso here on Angie's List and I am forever grateful. I had it narrowed down to a few contractors based on the reviews posted and after careful consideration, we hired Picasso as their offer was the most aligned with our need and budget. We have a two bedroom, two bathroom apartment on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Initially, we needed a new kitchen and bathroom but after seeing the quality of the work we also ended up making things a bit more contemporary by adding new doors and replacing the trim work. Thrilled to also share that Picasso gave us a huge break to renovate and refresh our crown moldings which was totally a last minute decision!!!! My husband and I were dreading the work especially since we have a young child and our space is limited as is. We were pleasantly surprised when work commenced and things were properly covered and sectioned off and we had adequate livable space. Not too mention, the workers were very polite and VERY clean. Other than the areas temporarily out of use, the rest of our space was totally livable. The walls and surfaces were properly prepped and not just coated with paint. Most importantly for people who live in NYC, Picasso was super professional dealing with our doorman and building staff and finished the work every day well ahead of the building time deadline for construction work. Throughout the project we had zero issues with the building and the workers complied with the building guidelines. We were well informed of what would be happening on a day to day basis and were given progress reports and checklists. This was a great way to communicate with us, lessen our anxiety for the outcome while we were able to celebrate each accomplishment daily!! My neighbors informed me that they were completely unaffected and inconvenienced by the construction which was a very big deal to us! We were very happy and excited! Everything is finished beautifully!! It ended up taking us 3 weeks from the first to the last day of work which was AMAZINGLY ahead of our deadline. What a brilliant decision was to go with Picasso!!!! The finished product is SUPERB!! It feels like a completely new place and we are thrilled with everything. The little things mattered as much as the big changes. Updating the doors and trim as well as our crown moldings ended up being an impressive compliment to the space. Both my husband and I are very busy professionals but we wanted to take the time to share our FANTASTIC experience with Picasso in the hopes of helping others like us in making this important decision. We were given everything that we had agreed on in the contract. The level of communication from the owner, and the professionalism and expertise of the crew were a wonderful bonus. Anyone who is dreading a renovation like we were, should look no further. Thank you, Picasso for such a FABULOUS A+ job!!!!
