  • I requested three bids from three different contractors. Although Provider name locked. was not the lowest bid, I thought that Provider name locked.  seemed the most knowledgeable and most committed to masonry. He knew a lot about concrete, and he assured me that he would use reinforced 5000 psi for concrete, which is more expensive and not necessarily expected for a job of this scale. He gave me a 1 year warranty, and I bought an additional warranty for the second year for 300 USD. Provider name locked. took out the cracked pavement in front of my townhouse in Upper Manhattan and replaced it within 5 hours. The company also got a permit to do the work within the promised time. I needed the job done in June, and as promised, Provider name locked. delivered. The pavement now looks amazing.
I thought Provider name locked. , the owner and principal of the company, was very smart and cared about his work. Provider name locked. , the person who booked the job and got the permits, was very helpful on the phone. I would hire Provider name locked. again.

  • Estimator did not show up on the date scheduled for a price quote on a Provider name locked. polishing job (not a grind & polish - just polishing a floor finished years ago to bring back the shine). I took time off work and there was no communication or attempt to reschedule after the no-show. This was a second attempt - the first could not be worked out at a mutual time and they had to be chased for the econd try. When I finally reached someone they did their very best to blow off the project site unseen with an off-putting quote and a timeframe so far out as to force me to self-select. They really, REALLY didn't want my job.
My quote was given over the phone without the ability to ask specific questions on-site about my needs, circumstances or project quirks. This 1400 sqft Provider name locked. polishing job, which would take 2 days to complete (including furniture relocation and equipment setup), was quoted at $6,500 - their minimum for getting out of bed. For reference, it cost me $13,600 to get the original floor fully ground over 2 weeks. So I'm being charged double for a simpler job that will take 20% of the time to complete. I was told they wouldn't be able to schedule this 2 day job for 5 months because they were booked on commercial jobs.
Had they showed up for the estimate (or called), and showed interest I would have paid the premium price for residential work because I understand smaller jobs in residential buildings are a hassle...and it certainly isn't something I can do myself. However, my experience over the past few weeks suggests the potential of them showing up in 5 months is very low and as such I would not feel comfortable giving them an advance deposit - even if I COULD convince them to take my money.
The pictures on their website show beautiful work, it's a shame I'll never see it - I'm sure they could really bring my floors back to life.

  • After being recommended by my GC, this contractor (with a full week's notice) failed to show up to provide an estimate for a residential concrete floor polishing job. Voicemail was full and no text contact even though he was told I was taking the day off work to meet (and had agreed to meet on this date). I wish I could comment on his work, but the fact that he doesn't show up to give an estimate is indication enough that he won't be interested in doing a quality job, and thus it's probably best I didn't let him in my home with heavy machinery.
It's clear that Provider name locked. has no interest in residential jobs. This is fine, but I would have appreciated him telling me this up front so I could find someone else and not waste my time and day off. He claims he had the flu but I find it hard to believe the flu prevents you from sending a one line text to reschedule over a 5-7 day period. Flu or not, I want someone that is professional and responsive, Provider name locked. is neither.
