I did a lot of pricing around and movers who don't supply the truck are much cheaper. So, I rented a 24 ft truck and reserved 2 movers for a local move. They arrived 15 minutes late (but were considerate of that when billing for their time). The truck had a lift (not a ramp) which slowed them down a little on the load in (*if you rent a truck, try to get one with a ramp). For the unload, they brought in a third worker to help- at no additional cost, which was thoughtful and definitely saved me money on their hourly rate. Some items got a little bruised and broken, but I can't say if it is the fault of the movers, or if it happened prior.

The guys did an amazing job. All three of them were very professional, careful, and quick with their work. They arrived a bit later than scheduled, but called to let me know that they were delayed due to an equipment issue with their truck. I would definitely contact them again if we ever needed a mover.

Setting up the move went fine. The office staff was very friendly and I thought they understood the scope of the project. The day of the move came and the movers did not show up during their window of time. After waiting an hour past the window, I called to find out when they would be arriving. The person I spoke with, again very nice, was unaware they had not arrived for the job. It was nearly 5:00. After another 30-45 minutes, I received a call from the supervisor, also very nice, who explained that the move before mine was running very long. She explained that if they could even get to me at all it would be very late that night. It was already pushing 6:00. Waiting around all night for movers that may or may not come was not going to work, so they rescheduled for the next day.
When the movers finally arrived, both of whom were very nice, they were not equipped physically for the work. I specifically hired movers just for the large, heavy items. We moved the rest of the house ourselves. The two movers struggled to lift and move heavy furniture. They banged my furniture around, nearly dropping items down the stairs that should not have been carried individually. The two did not work well as a team. I also watched in horror as they dropped my elliptical machine off the back of the truck damaging it beyond repair. They failed to strap it down and opened the door while the truck was in motion. It bounced right out of the back and crashed on the ground. While apologetic, the Company now refuses to pay the replacement cost for the machine even though there is no question as to liability and damage.
The move went until late in the evening on a Sunday and put me behind on the rest of the move. I needed the bigger items out so I could determine how the remaining items would be allocated between the storage unit and the other home. I could not simply take work off to move during the week, so I had to wait until the following weekend which meant that construction on my house had to be delayed. While the Company gave me a 20% discount on the price, that really doesn't make up for the lost time and inconvenience.
As noted above, the movers dropped my elliptical machine off the truck. I've had to spend way too much time attempting to get reimbursed so I can replace it at an approximate cost of $1,500.00. After nearly two months, this remains unresolved.
While everyone I've spoken to at the Company has always been nice and fairly responsive, I simply cannot recommend their services to anyone based upon my experience. It's been a nightmare, and has unnecessarily cost me in time and money. Not to mention that I have no idea what condition the items the movers placed in storage will be in when I get them back out. They just did not seem to know what they were doing, or were just too hot and tired to really care.
