We are extremely pleased with the paint job on our house. Everything looks fantastic. This company was very easy to work with and did the job in a timely manner. We would use them again in a heartbeat.

I would definitely recommend this company. Greg (the owner) and Ron (his assistant) arrived promptly at 8 am both days they were scheduled. They repointed and relaid some old bricks that were loose in my walkway and steps and reinstalled some plastic latticework that had come loose from the house. They also replaced a pull cord for a ceiling fan. I had asked them to replace a different ceiling fan with a chandelier but once they realized the scope of the work, Greg recommended that I hire an electrician to replace the fan as it involved some electrical work that was beyond what they were licensed to do. I appreciate when a professional tells me honestly that I would be better served by someone licensed in that field. Greg had told me when I asked him about the light replacement that he would have to look at the fixture first. If it was a straightforward replacement, he would be able to do it but since he is not a licensed electrician, he would not be able to do anything that involved wiring (which, as it turned out, this project did). I also wanted them to replace some cabinet hinges that had broken. The hinges, it turned out, were very old and hard to replace. (I have had that problem with these hinges before, so I know that it is the case). Greg took the broken hinge and promised to try to find a replacement online and come install them if he was able to find it. I felt fully informed through every step of the process.

Will I Am Painting Contractor LLC
I needed my old victorian house to be re-painted inside and out. It's a large house and old and thus has a lot of idiosyncracies. It also had a lot of issues, especially when it came to water leaks (with all that entails, including water damage to the drywall, lack of caulking on the trim, separation between base boards and walls, etc.), windows having been painted shut, you name it. Willie came over, did a realistic assessment of the time and money it would take, and gave me a very fair price for the work. I couldn't have been happier with the end result. During the whole process, Willie worked with me to make sure that the job fit the house and offered great advice on color schemes (which I really need since this is my first house and I was pretty inexperienced with this) and paint finishes every step of the way. Willie and his crew are amazing. They took their time with the prep work, fixing those lingering issues in my house and it really shows in the finished product. They went over my house with a fine-toothed comb and now my house built in 1909 has a fresh lease on life. Great work, great people. Very unobtrusive, responsive to any critiques I had and the job was fantastic. Couldn't ask for a better contractor. Would definitely use again.

    Castillo Construction LLC
SUMMARY. Strong bid and early performance degenerated into delays (over 18 months), failure to meet commitments, and shoddy workmanship, resulting in bringing in another contractor to complete project and remediate work not meeting City codes at a cost of over $35,000. DETAILS. Our experience with Castillo Construction was good, bad and ugly. In summary: Castillo Construction is untrustworthy; not above lying (not just misleading); and concealing wrongdoing; Castillo Construction is incompetent in supervising its subcontractors and unwilling to make things right; and Castillo Constructions business model combines low bids with failure to deliver. The Good: Bidding and sales process was friendly, competent, and intense Sales Manager Wade Holden was communicative, responsive, and engaged. Castillo Constructions early work was diligent and intensive after the contract was signed in February, 2014. The Bad: Work, however, essentially came to a halt after the mid/two-thirds point in payments had been reached, approximately 4 months into the job. After that, few workers showed up at the site, electricity was cut off and promises that work would resume/soon be finished sounded sincere, but showed few results. A promise to complete the job in October proved a lie; threats to sue produced a brief flurry of work. Castillo Construction failed to respond to us, and the owner Alfonso Castillos few communications showed little familiarity with conditions at the site and less interest in moving beyond empty promises. The Ugly: In November (more than one YEAR after the promised completion date), I brought in a new contractor to finish the job. The new contractor uncovered and confirmed work badly done; work done contrary to City building codes and industry practices; and deceitful practices. Castillos electrical contractor failed to upgrade the electrical service as code required, and the work had to be redone at an expense of $6000. The HVAC contractor failed to install the central air/heat correctly (for instance a thermostat was installed right next to an air outlet), and to zone the work as called for. Sloppy roof work resulted in leaks. The plumber failed to install a code-required isolation kit for a tank-less hot water heater, and couldnt get hot water to the kitchen sink. A toilet was cracked during installation, and the crack concealed with epoxy and passed off as new work. We are suing Castillo for the extra expense (over $35,000) incurred in getting the work done properly, and for economic damages because the work was not completed in timely fashion. Throughout, Castillo has failed to reply to communications and concealed his whereabouts: the Metairie address is simply a mailbox shop and there is no sign of Castillo Construction at the Bridge City domicile address.

Crew did a great job and were quick with the work. Phillip quoted and performed some additional work for me after they completed the stucco repair and painted. House came out great. Phillip also offered advice to me on how to continue fixing up my old house.

A To Z Concrete And Brick Work
The job was completed later in the evening and when I initially checked the work everything seemed fine except for one portion in which I mentioned looked a bit sloppy and they replied, "no one would see that part anyway." After going back out the next morning I really noticed how poor of a job they had really done. I called the owner when I saw the work was poorly done. He agreed to make it right he said he would come out the next morning and I never heard from him again. I've called with no answer, it goes to voicemail or I'm told the mailbox is full. Most recently I called two days ago and still no answer.

    Carrera Contracting Company
I hired Carrera to paint my very old two story home. When the crew began
taking of some of the lower weatherboards, they discovered that
there were rotted and old termite damage on the main beam down the length of
the house and about 3/4 of the cross beams. Serious structural. Without missing
a beat, they came up with a way to rectify and repair and replace damage before
they could begin work on the weather, boards. They went under the house, took
plenty of pictures so that they could figure how to jack up to replace beam and
cross beams. They explained in detail to my satisfaction, how they planned the
repair and then came up with a new contract just for that job. The price seemed
steep, but it was a job that was dangerous and took some expertise. The same
original crew did the work and finished ahead of schedule. The price was fair.
The jacking caused plaster to crack and some to fall,  and once large wall where
     plaster fell off in
very large area. The again brought another specialist on the job to replace patch
    and paint.
When they got going on the house to replace, caulk, repair and paint, they
worked just as hard and professionally as the other jobs.  The front of my home is ornate
Victorian with a lot detail and wear. They had to do trim carpentry repair and detailed
panting of 5 colors. The house is now as it should be. Many passers-by take photos
as I live in a tourist area.
I showed him my wish list of other jobs as listed and there were none that Carrera could
not complete for a fair price for truly professional job on each task
Mr Carrera is easy going, loves to work hard and steady and keeps a good crew that seem to as well.
He will work weekends and around your schedule, He will find things that I do not notice that he
explains why a bit of time and money will be well spent  doing is now while working in the area.

    ABC Chimney Services
STAY AWAY FROM THIS "COMPANY."  They are con artists at best.  I hired Joe to seal 3 chimneys (double sided).  We did not want hi gloss sealant so he went to a paint shop and purchased something that was supposed seal the chimneys without the gloss.  The "sealant" did not work and the mortar keeps coming off - heavily.  I called and called and called without ever getting a call back.  I called again finally had Joe answer the phone.  He said he would have to charge me again and "couldn't do it for free." He refused to do the job right, told me to "do whatever I had to do" and then proceeded to hang up on me.

These guys were fantastic! We had another group coming out to do work on the same room and they were very accomodating for us. There was some issues of them both working in the space and they actually left for a bit and came back with no additional charge to us. We also discovered that there were 3 layers of brick they had to get through to create a vent for our dryer and even that didn't raise the cost much! They were professional at all times and the quality of their work was top notch. In addition to the vent they also did some work to our walls and put in a bunch of tile in the room. All of the work looks fantastic and we are calling them soon to do some more work on our house as well! I can't thank these people enough for the great work they did for a fantastic value!

    Mullin Landscape Associates
This company was very professional and did a great job. The design by David Abadie iwas great and was reworked until all of the details and the price were right.  The actual yard work took a week to complete. I like everything about it - the colors, the leveling, the design, the foundation for the brick, the irrigation system, and the plantings. . The design of the brick path is amazing.  The only plantings that we had Mullen add was the dwarf monkey grass, as I had a lot of perennials already.  Their hard scaping made the existing plants look so much better!  I suspect my request came at a busy time of year because it did take awhile to get the job underway, but once they started they were efficient and worked every  day until it was complete. Now we sit out there or entertain every chance we get. Highly recommend Mullen Landscaping!
