  • Badly. Work was in city residential area. Trees were to be removed - contractor said city would remove, city said they wouldn't so I ended up paying additional for dumpster; 1 tree dropped on neighbors wooden custom fence and then fence was poorly repaired., Sidewalk has sewer line under it and needed 1 cleanout access - access that was installed has a raised lid - about 1/4" above rest of surface - great tripping risk - and that was explained as the way it always is done.  Grading on lawn section of drive - only an area of 14' x 20' or so - has more hills and valleys than ... . Driveway end looks like a junkyard.  Fence installed that had a gate that could only be opened from outside the yard - rough fix was to cut a hole in fence so that we can reach our hand outside the gate from inside.  Smaller fence around pool filter was uneven and left with exposed screw tips - the sharp ends - after clear discussion that this was a playyard for our 2 year old.  Contractor may be worth while if used in the country for rough work, but I cannot recommend for any work that you want to have a finished feel.  Very disappointed.

  • I called Provider name locked.  to have an estimate done for an outdoor structure and landscape work. "Provider name locked. " came out in a reasonable amount of time on April 17. I was pleased with how things went with him, and so I went out the same day and got my building permit (~$100 fees and all). I already had a sketch for the work, so I thought I would be hearing back quickly. But, no. Several weeks went by so I called. Provider name locked. said that he would have the estimate in a couple of days. A couple more weeks went by, so I called and Provider name locked. said that he lost my sketch. So he had to come back and pick up another copy of the sketch. Then more time passed and I called again, only to learn that Provider name locked. was leaving the company. So, now I'm back to ground zero and I'm dealing with someone new. I finally got my first estimate on June 12th -- 2 months after I first called, and now the summer is half over!! Unfortunately, the estimate was about 35% higher than an estimate I received from another contractor, and higher than the estimate suggested on the first visit. I see all the A's on Angie's list, so I've been trying to hang in there, but they are not making it easy...

  • I am giving him an A based on what a good price his was compared to all the other bids I got. Based on the price, I didn't
expect perfection or a seamless experience and I was right. I knew that my budget for the job was low, but the alternative was to not do it at all, so I tried to manage my expectations. The other bids I got were non-starters. Most were double what Provider name locked. charged.
As others have mentioned, communication was a little difficult due to Provider name locked. 's accent, but we managed. And yes, he is a bit gruff. The finished work was fine. They did what I asked and it looks good. Not perfect, not meticulous, but good. Again, within my expectations based on the price. He was also willing to use my big pile of old bricks salvaged from demolishing my chimney. Some of the other contractors were unwilling or skeptical of this but Provider name locked. didn't complain at all.
My only complaint was the scheduling. He didn't show up when he initially said he would and he didn't call to let me know. When I called him he said he had been sick and gave me another date. He didn't show then either. When I called that time, the excuse was the weather which had put him behind on another job. Based on the forecast of sun for the next 5 days, he gave me yet another new date, saying he would start the next day. When I called him the next morning to confirm, he tried to put me off again, this time for another full week, but by that time I was annoyed and had had enough and after some strong words, his crew showed up the next day and began.
They finished the job in a week. Overall, I am happy with what I got.
