Owner came out December 5 to measure our counter tops, give us suggestions and provide a quote for two different options on cleanup and/or resurfacing. The meeting went well and we were told that the owner (who made the service call) would also be the one to provide us with an estimate - the next week. This was TWO months ago. We called several times to check and see if the estimate was ready, allowing time for the holidays, etc. After repeated promises from the office that the owner had been busy but would have the estimate to us within a few days, the next day, the next week etc. , we still unfortunately never received an estimate. We felt that two months time waiting for an estimate on something this simple was a bit extreme and probably would predict the quality of service we'd receive if we ever were able to hire them for the job. We do not plan on contacting them again and are now working with another company to get the work done.

We have hired MLM to build new construction homes for us as well complete gut renovations for investment purposes. They have been timely, knowledgeable, and extremely professional. Their use of technology to follow the construction process combined with their level of knowledge have made the process easy and much less stressful than when we have worked with other contractors. We highly recommend them.

Are you looking for a contractor to build your dream home or renovate your current home? Look no further than Ducar Construction. I have used Ducar Construction to build four new homes (I'm a small time investor) and a few renovation projects. The beauty of these homes are indescribable, but I have the pictures to prove it. The craftsmanship is impeccable and home inspectors tout their work leaving home buyers impressed and satisfied with their purchase. They have a great, friendly team who will walk you through every step of the process and answer any questions that you may have. They let you be as hands on as you want to be. I'm hands off because they implement my vision and exceed those expectations. Their projects are always completed on time (if not much earlier) and at the right price. I highly recommend Ducar construction . Do yourself a favor and hire them today!

The work on the back porches went fairly smoothly and the results were terrific. They made good suggestions about decking and other materials that lowered costs but maintained a good look and good durability. I was very impressed with the follow up. Once the work was completed It turned out that the three AC units for the three condos were not working. When they were informed, they got their HVAC service out in a couple days to troubleshoot the problem. It turned out the issue was dirty filters in two units and a faulty valve in one. So it was really a maintenance problem on our end and not a problem with how the units for reconnected after the porches were built. These guys were very professional, very respectful and considerate on the phone. I would work with them again, and would happily recommend them.

We converted a near 100-year-old shotgun double to a single family home. There were some problems and unexpected hiccups along the way (again, very old house) but Machi and his crew handled everything in a professional and friendly manner. Machi even made some design suggestions that wound up working really well for us. The job took a few months longer than expected and we did have some minor issues (mismatch facet pulls, exterior paint peeling on old shutters, a busted roof turbine); however, MLM rectified everything we brought to their attention. I have heard horror stories regarding projects this big, but MLM made our renovation relatively painless. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again and have already recommended them to several friends.

I hired Castillo Construction to do emergency repairs to my home after my neighbor's tree fell on it and caused major damage to the house and completely destroyed my garage. Unfortunately, this was the second time that the same tree had fallen on my house causing major damage. The first time, about half of the tree fell and my whole house was gutted. My first contractor was a crook and wasn't even finished with the renovations a year later when the rest of the tree fell. Having had such a horrible experience with my first contractor, I was very picky about who I would hire for this round of renovations and repairs. Alfonso and his team were very responsive with my inquiries for a site visit, estimate, and references. He was also understanding of the trouble I had been through over the last year and was willing to jump through all the hoops I put up to make sure that he was an honest contractor who wasn't trying to make a quick buck without doing the work. As soon as my insurance company issued the first check, his crew got to work. They replaced my roof, laid new wood floors throughout the entire house, repaired the ceiling in two rooms where the tree had come through, painted the interior rooms that had been damaged, rebuilt damaged kitchen cabinet, demolished and rebuilt the two-car garage and patio roof, upgrade electrical box to garage, repainted the exterior of the house, installed new gutters and downspouts, and replaced air conditioning compressor. I'm probably forgetting so many details about what was done. I'll just say that it was a lot of work and they completed it quickly and beautifully. My former contractor had left several things inside the house unfinished such as no window sills on several windows and tile missing in the bathroom or incorrectly installed. I was going to have to pay out of pocket to get these things taken care of since I was fighting with my old contractor over what he owed me. When I asked Alfonso for an estimate to complete this work while they were doing all the other repairs, he told me not to worry about it. He finished all of the unfinished items in the house without asking for a dime. It wasn't a lot of work but he sympathized with my situation he saved me several hundred dollars instead of taking advantage. His crews were always extremely polite and answered any questions I had about what they were doing. They also kept a very clean work site, making sure that all materials and tools were put away and organized every day before they left for the day. Even when Alfonso and I had a disagreement about the air compressor that was installed, he was willing to bend to what I wanted, and what had originally been agreed upon, at a financial loss to himself in order to make things right with the customer. After having been through the ringer over the last year and a half, it was refreshing to have a contractor who was honest and didn't try to take advantage of a woman navigating in a largely male-dominated field.

Fantastic! Very pleased with service from our initial contact and throughout process. Professional and attentive. Seamus seems to always make himself available to his customers. He was extremely patient with listening to our wants and needs, explaining available options, and helping with important decisions throughout our project. We would definitely call on their services again.

I had three contracts with this company. The owner, Chuck Dwyer "quit" the job after the first contract was fulfilled (poorly) and left my electrical work half-undone. Apparently in his mind quitting a job means you get to keep the deposit. He still has $13,290 of mine and refuses to return calls, emails, texts or voicemails. See the details below. If anyone would like photos of videos of the terrible work, let me know, it is very well documented. *** Shady contractor with subs that do sub-par shoddy work. I hired Chuck Dwyer to do work on my double shotgun home in New Orleans in October 2017. Since I am not a rich person I started construction on one half of my house and planned to move on to the other half when one side was complete. Chuck's crew shoddily completed one half of the house. I'm talking trim with nails sticking out everywhere, cuts so off no amount of caulk in the world could make it look right, door trim that doesn't even touch the floor, seriously, ever hear of taking an accurate measurement before making a cut? Tile installation that looked like a drunk blind person did the work. Prior to me realizing how terrible his workers are I signed another contract with him and stupid me, I gave him deposit. If I had known at the time the work would be so bad or he would steal over $13,000 from me I would have never signed. Stupid trusting me. In November 2017, we agreed on a final contract that would complete the other side of my house. At signing I paid Chuck a deposit in the sum of $13,290 on that contract. Now it is mid February 2018 and he has yet to fulfill it. The last thing I heard from him three weeks ago (the end of January 2018) was, "I quit, I'm taking my name off the permits and you aren't getting **** back.". I also have a separate and open electrical contract with him that was only halfway completed. There are live wires hanging everywhere in my house, giant gaping holes in walls where no wires were ever run, damaged switches and outlets and switches that go to nothing. When his electrical crew initially showed up to do the work, these "electricians" came in smashing holes all over my sheetrock, even walls that were not in the contract to be replaced, in short costing me more money. Now I have gaping holes and no electrical work was even done. Oh! This is a great part of the story too! His crew literally left my house unlocked at least 7 times, no amount of asking them to please lock the doors and windows would help. On one such occasion I came home from Alabama over Thanksgiving and my backdoor was literally swinging in the breeze. It gets better...his invoicing? Wow. No logos on some of them, no dates, no format, handwritten numbers with details that are scribbled out then re-written by hand. Oh and this guy literally had the nerve to show up to my house asking for checks without invoices half the time. When I finally told him if he wanted a check he had to show up with an invoice he got very weird and almost seemed offended. I hindsight, why did I do business with this person? Stupid me, I was trusting. Do you want the best part? He was a referral from a friend of a friend. Long story short, do yourself a favor and don't get robbed, walk away from this one.

Horrible experience!!!! Owner of Par misrepresented his experience and ability to build a custom home to us. He used inexperienced subs/labor, eliminated details that were on plans without authorization, put angle irons instead of lintels so bricks were sitting on roof, was suposed to put metal roof in low pitch area but put asphalt so nails started rusting out in less than 1 year, had major leaks, had liens placed against our home even though we paid him up front, had serious black mold issue in our house while under construction. Par cost us an extra $80K+ to fix all of the mistakes made to our new home.
