Drywall Repair reviews in New Orleans

Real People ~ Real Reviews ~ Real Results

  • The owner called me back right away after I noticed water damage in my bathroom. We scheduled him for a Monday and he called and confirmed that he was on his way. He completed the job in less than an hour and also pointed out some other issues we should address. He was very professional and the price was reasonable. I will definitely use him for any future projects.

  • SES was responsive from the very beginning. Perry (estimator) showed up when he said he would and returned a bid for the work when he promised. The crew was very hardworking and were prompt every morning. Ashley called every afternoon to update us as to who would be here in the morning, what time they would arrive, and what they would work on. The owner, Shawn checked in routinely. I cannot say enough good things about the whole process. We are really pleased with the rennovation and feel like we have a new home!

  • These guys are amazing! I've been a repeat customer many times over and TJM is my first choice for any kind of handyman work. They are hardworking, reliable, trustworthy; they always do quality work and I love that they are very efficient. They've done a number of various jobs for me and I intend to continue using their services-- highly recommend!

  • Everything turned out as expected. They are very prompt, polite and courteous. Everything was cleaned up when they finished. I wouldn't hesitate to call them back. One of the most positive experiences when dealing with this company.

  • Original contract was to fix some termite damage, renovate two bathrooms, a bedroom, and replace the floor of the kitchen. As they got into the work, they found that the termite damage was not as bad as feared, but the roofer did not flash properly which caused other damage. They were very flexible, and I added on to the renovation for complete painting, floor replacement, gutter cleaning, and other damage remediation. We had the usual issues of delays and time management, which created contractual payment problems. In the end, it all worked out and the job got done. I would tell the contractor to make sure he sets proper time expectations, and make sure things are completely spotless when the job is complete. I would use them again for sure, though.

  • The company, Mr. Fix It, left without finishing the job. They were supposed to paint and re-attach 6 ft. sections of baseboards to my hallway area, as per the estimate. Again, they just left without completing the job. Also, the paint job was done unprofessionally. You could see thicker brush marks at the tops and sides of each room but a hinner coat of paint in middle of rooms. In some areas of the rooms, the original coat of paint actually showed through after they had finished painting! My baseboards were also ruined because the painter overlapped the paint onto the baseboards when he painted the walls. My baseboards were white, the new colors were light yellow, and ivory. When I pointed this out to the manager, he didn't think anything was wrong with this. He also suggested that I would have to pay more if I wanted another coat of paint on the walls. Of course, the estimate did not mention this either. Most people assume that the finished paint job would adequately cover the wall area, without leaving spotty places nor leaving the original paint showing through the newly painted wall. Buyers beware! I would not recommend this company to any person.

  • I rarely write reviews for anything. Have hired before using Angie's List. The last contractor did a good job but the service was terrible and price too high. NOT SO WITH CARY! This guy is amazing. He responds to your first email, shows up for the walk through, gives a great contract and spells out what he will do for what price and when he will start and, amazingly, actually shows up when he says he will and does the work he says he is going to do and does it fantastically well. Let's you know when he is coming and going, doesn't leave a mess. The cynic in me wonders why his license has not been revoked. After the deck and new railing (it looks fantastic) he came back for a bunch of piddly jobs -- painting, touch up, ceilings, some electrical and, once again, showed up on time, did the work and finished on time. Hire this guy. I have lived here for 12 years and he is by far the best person I have had work on my house.

  • Very well! Crew was polite and worked very well together. My husband and I had always done our own work but decided the projects would be too time consuming and we wanted done and quickly. Mr.Brooks and his crew did a great job.

  • Needed a general contractor to repair my garage that was hit by an out of control vehicle. I found Charlie with Southern Home Builders and it turned out to be the best choice I have ever made. Charlie was very nice and professional. He understood what we was going through with our home insurance company and gave very good advice on how to deal with the insurance company. Once hired everything went according to schedule as Charlie said and the work was finished on time without any major problems. Thank you Charlie for everything you did you put our mind at ease during the entire process. I would definitely hire again and recommend your company to others.

  • I hired Castillo Construction to do emergency repairs to my home after my neighbor's tree fell on it and caused major damage to the house and completely destroyed my garage. Unfortunately, this was the second time that the same tree had fallen on my house causing major damage. The first time, about half of the tree fell and my whole house was gutted. My first contractor was a crook and wasn't even finished with the renovations a year later when the rest of the tree fell. Having had such a horrible experience with my first contractor, I was very picky about who I would hire for this round of renovations and repairs. Alfonso and his team were very responsive with my inquiries for a site visit, estimate, and references. He was also understanding of the trouble I had been through over the last year and was willing to jump through all the hoops I put up to make sure that he was an honest contractor who wasn't trying to make a quick buck without doing the work. As soon as my insurance company issued the first check, his crew got to work. They replaced my roof, laid new wood floors throughout the entire house, repaired the ceiling in two rooms where the tree had come through, painted the interior rooms that had been damaged, rebuilt damaged kitchen cabinet, demolished and rebuilt the two-car garage and patio roof, upgrade electrical box to garage, repainted the exterior of the house, installed new gutters and downspouts, and replaced air conditioning compressor. I'm probably forgetting so many details about what was done. I'll just say that it was a lot of work and they completed it quickly and beautifully. My former contractor had left several things inside the house unfinished such as no window sills on several windows and tile missing in the bathroom or incorrectly installed. I was going to have to pay out of pocket to get these things taken care of since I was fighting with my old contractor over what he owed me. When I asked Alfonso for an estimate to complete this work while they were doing all the other repairs, he told me not to worry about it. He finished all of the unfinished items in the house without asking for a dime. It wasn't a lot of work but he sympathized with my situation he saved me several hundred dollars instead of taking advantage. His crews were always extremely polite and answered any questions I had about what they were doing. They also kept a very clean work site, making sure that all materials and tools were put away and organized every day before they left for the day. Even when Alfonso and I had a disagreement about the air compressor that was installed, he was willing to bend to what I wanted, and what had originally been agreed upon, at a financial loss to himself in order to make things right with the customer. After having been through the ringer over the last year and a half, it was refreshing to have a contractor who was honest and didn't try to take advantage of a woman navigating in a largely male-dominated field.
