    Two Brothers Painting
This company took our money and didn't finish the job. I paid the owner in cash, and almost immediately afterwards, the work stopped. He used every excuse in the book.....rain (which wasn't a lie, it did rain a decent amount in early July), his transmission in his truck was screwed up, his paint sprayer broke and he was waiting for Amazon to send him a new part....at one point he told me his brother was supposed to have finished the job (he didn't!)....communication was great and he had no misfortune whatsoever BEFORE we paid him, but coincidentally right after he got my money in his hand, everything seemed to go wrong. Fast forward to today and the job is still untouched for weeks. Now his communication has gone from poor to non-existent. I should have never paid this guy before his project was finished, but he asked me to, and I am a trusting guy, so I paid him. We hired him on Friday July 7.....it's almost August and my deck and fence look terrible and I'm going to have to hire someone else to finish this job. There is blue painters tape all over the place, there is stain overspray and droplets all over my concrete. Do yourself a favor and hire a different company.

    Sparkle Pressure Washing
This is lengthy because I have a lot I would like to say. This seemed like a daunting project for me. I have a large deck, partially enclosed and screened, and the rest open and exposed to weather extremes. The open part gets no sun in the winter so it's prone to mildew. It gets burning sun in the summer. The unenclosed space was in bad shape and needed stripping and staining but the enclosed space is ok for now. Marc "Sparky" Glinstra quoted the job back in April for what I felt was a very reasonable price. How do you do this project without making a mess of the inside? He accomplished exactly that and I couldn't be happier. The inside and outside are different color stains (planning to do the inside later) and there is absolutely no stain or overspray anywhere to be found inside and no screen damage. Even though this was quoted in April, the work was completed July 5, but that was no fault of Sparky. I had vacation, driveway resurfacing, and unexpected street paving going on and he was dealing with that along with stormy weather and rain for two months. When he started, he even threw in a chemical spray cleaning of some mildew on the back of the house for no charge, and also repaired some broken lattice. He kept a constant eye on the weather and wouldn't do work when rain threatened. The payment was less than the original quote because of the type of stain and stripping that needed to be done. When does that ever happen? He also knew we were having an outdoor gathering July 6 and made the deadline. This guy is good folks. Thank you very much Sparky. I really appreciate your honesty. I feel like I got a steal considering what I would have paid just for stain, not to mention the back breaking do it yourself job this would have been for me.

    American Services of TN, LLC.
Before we hired them, they insisted that we look at some of their current projects. They looked great! When we hired them, (October 2017) they came on time and finished on budget. Later, they attended to some minor issues, but not as promptly as I would have liked. Still, the work was good. Last week, I called them for another repair matter. Uzi came yesterday and showed me exactly how to do it myself and save money. He is not just in it for a fast buck, but to be of service. I would recommend that you give them a chance.

    CI Builders
The owner of this company, Jeremy (Jay), is very friendly and professional. First, he responded very quickly to our request for an estimate, and when we chose his company, they were able to begin within a week or so. He understood the issues that we had in replacing a deck that had prematurely begun deteriorating, and his crew was able to replace about 80% of it while salvaging the parts that were still in good shape. Jay was also happy to fine-tune the minor tweaks that needed to be made after the old deck was demolished and the new one installed. Our project turned out to have more issues than he could anticipate, but he stood by his original price quote. He is trustworthy and provides what he promises. His price was very reasonable, and we believe that we received our money's worth. He also works on roof and window replacements, and we would not hesitate to hire him if we had one of those projects.

    House Dreams LLC
Our project consisted of demolition of the existing deck and construction of a larger replacement. David was very helpful and practical when approaching design of our new deck, especially when considering young children. The team was very efficient, courteous, and professional and we are very pleased with the result. Our one disappointment was the absence of cleaning the work space of materials like rock and asphalt that was moved to the side but never removed following installation of our main posts.

    Archadeck of Nashville
We worked with Russell and his Archadeck team to put a covered extension onto our existing deck. We cant recommend them enough. From the design phase and through all of the building, everything was clearly communicated so we knew exactly what to expect. He really helped us make the right choices for the space and also for how it ties to the house. I appreciated how he thought about the big picture and not just his portion. During the building, I looked at every detail because Im the type of client that wants to know exactly what hes getting. From their building methods, to the lumber they brought in, and all the way down to the hardware they used, I couldnt find anything to complain about. What they built me is so solid and probably even overbuilt (in a good way). I want to be in my house for a long time and when I put money into improvements, I want to know that it will last a long time, too. Thats exactly what they gave me. I would trust Lee and his crew to build me anything because they treated my house like it was their own. They take pride in their work and if something wasnt right, they didnt just cover it up. They made sure that the quality was consistent throughout, even if they had to eat material cost to make it just right. Russell was true to everything he said from the beginning of the project, to the end. You dont find that a lot in the construction business and it was very much appreciated.

    Wilson's Exterior Service
Initially, I had requested a bid to pressure wash and reseal what I knew was a VERY old deck, hoping to get one or maybe two more seasons out of it. Steven called me after he arrived to work up a bid and was very upfront and honest about the fact that the deck was not in good enough condition to attempt. Not being overly surprised, I asked him if he would bid on the reskin. He did, quickly, encouraging me to get several comparable bids for such a big job. It is a BIG deck; two levels, two sets of stairs; a lot of railing. After a couple of weeks, we began. Steven and his crew showed up every time they said they would, he always communicated if they were running late. As to be expected with a 25+ year old deck, there were some hidden issues that revealed themselves as the project developed. Steven was quick to call me, tell me what they'd found (mostly hidden damage/rot), explain the fix and what the increased cost would be, offered alternatives where possible, and was very respectful of my budget. Even with several days lost to storms and rain, they finished quickly and I could not be happier with my "new" deck. I will call them in the future and you should not hesitate to hire Steven and his crew. Highly recommend. Some before and after pictures are attached.

    Sullivan Home Service
We have had Steve as our handyman since 2004. When you find a good person you hang on to them. Steve does everything. This time he rebuilt a closet, repaired a host of "honey do" items, trimmed back trees from over our house, swept the roof clear of debris, and cut and stacked eveything for brush pick up. Over the course of our relationship he has repaired the roof and exterior including masonry, repaired everything from minor appliances to laying wood floors, tile, remodeling a bathroom, putting covered gutters in,repaired our chimney. We usually have him advise us about what needs to be done at least once a year. That is how much we trust his judgment. He offers several options outlining the differences between each and never does anything without consultation first! You can't go wrong if you hire Steve!
