Leather Repair reviews in Minneapolis

They delivered the chairs on 5/10/16. It has taken several months for the rest to get completed. I just went to look at the work that was done, and it all looks terrible. We originally hired them in preparation for a class reunion party at my home, and everyone was forced to use dining room chairs. They never gave me a firm completion date, and it took nearly 5 months. Every time they asked for a payment, I made sure it was immediately paid. Not only am I dissatisfied with the work that they did, but the cushions aren't even reversible. Half is leather, and half is the liner material. Also, they put a dust ruffle on the chairs, but left bare legs on the couch. It's mis-matched. It makes me a wreck to even look at it.

Accurate to the estimate, done when it was supposed to be done, and the work looks good. He also had me check his work in the shop before I paid. I would use them again and I would recommend them to anyone

Ernest came out and we discussed what we wanted repaired on our distressed leather sofa. He explained why we had the trouble with holes we did and was very knowlegable about leather and furniture in general. He explained different options and provided us with a reasonable price. Ernest was very concerned that we were happy with the final outcome. He and his staff went beyond what was discussed to complete the job in a manner satisfactory to him.
    I would highly recommend him!

Wonderful.    Thilled with the look of my Queen Anne chair.  Inherited  from a favorite relative, long deceased.     High sentimental value.    Chris was prompt, gave me an estimate that he stuck with..  He communicated throughout and accomodated my schedule with delivery times, etc.     I love the thought and detail he put back into the look of the chair.   I've got lumbar support with a nice design flair on the cushion that really elevates the look of such a simple chair.    Also love the "gentlemen's chair" that he finished in leather.    Gave me resources to reduce my cost and I learned a lot by going direct and picking leather out from the Tandy professionals.   Both stores were super helpful and I received a discount being a customer of The Furniture Specialist.     End result is very rich looking leather chair.    This was another sentimental favorite....my grandfather gave to my godparents at their wedding over 70 years ago!.    There's  new life in the old chair and it adds elegance and style to my living room.    Have given Chris more pieces and expect the same results.  Really happy with the Furniture Specialist and this experience on Angie's List..    Thanks.

I brought my coat in to see if they could repair a tear in the shoulder (about the size of a dime) and have it cleaned.  The guy at the counter brought my coat back to the shop and showed the tear to one of the employees that would do the work on the coat.  She came back out with him, and offered a couple of ways she could fix it, and gave me her recommendation.  She also noticed that a few buttons were sewed on too tightly for the jacket (they needed more room or would tear the leather).  She indicated the repairs could be done for just $10.  The cleaning was just $45.  I was very happy with the price, and rather shocked that it was so low. I had looked around for other leather cleaners, and this was the only place I found specializing in this service near me.
I asked how soon my coat would be ready, and was told 2 weeks.  Unfortunately this was at the end of January, and this was my warmest coat, but I left it with them anyway.  In addition to fixing the tear they were to clean the coat.
I came back on a Friday two weeks and three days later to pick up the coat.  The employee at the counter could not find it at first. He asked if I had been called to say it was ready, and I said no, but it was more than two weeks so I expected it to be done as promised.  After 15 minutes of searching, he finally found it back in the repair area. He showed it to me, and the tear was not yet fixed.  It was going to be bitterly cold outside over the weekend, so I was disappointed.  I asked if it would be done Monday, and he said he would move it up to be the next worked on.  I noticed that the coat was very dark looking, and I was told the coat had been re-dyed.  I hadn't asked for that.
I called Monday morning to ask when the coat would be done, and was told it would be done after 2:00 p.m.  I wasn't thrilled with the repair on the tear - it looked like it was just glued down, and not even that well. Also, when I put on the coat, I noticed that it wasn't soft and supple anymore - it was crunchy and dry. I was told that was because they had re-dyed it and sealed it and that it would get softer with wear.
Overall, I'm disappointed with the experience.  I'm now getting out the bottle of Wilson's leather lotion and trying to make it soft again.

Overall Twin Cities Upholstery and Workroom provided quality work. Overall I was very satisfied with the service. Although they could improve a little on punctuality. I will use them again in the future.

I was very pleased with the Don's Leather Cleaning.  At dropoff the process was explained and a timeframe was set.  The cost was very reasonable.  Two days later they called to discuss a potential problem of the coat discoloring during the cleaning process.  They called when the coat was completed and it looks like new!  The discoloration was not noticable and the coat looks completely natural.  The spots are completely gone.  The entire experience was very good and exceeded expectations.

Fantastic value - I don't know why anyone would use another service! I dropped off my first order at the St. Louis Park location, and was pleasantly surprised by the clean, pleasant and fresh-feeling environment. It was vastly different than any other dry cleaner I'd used before. The walls are a nice, modern color and they have coffee and water available. When I picked up my order, I learned that they use high-quality wooden hangers that may be returned for reuse, or kept. I absolutely love the fact that they are environmentally responsible, convenient, yet cost the same as traditional dry cleaners. I have found dealing with traditional dry cleaners to be a chore - I dreaded going in because they are kind of run-down and gross places, plus I didn't like the chemical odor left on my clothing. Mulberry's has transformed me from a 4x/year user (I'd have months of dry cleaning to bring in because I dreaded going.) to a 2x/week user, and has made my life a little easier. Genius concept!

They did a good job on the purse and I'm pleased about that because its my favorite and I was afraid it was ruined by the mac and cheese. I didn't love that I had to prepay for the service and that it was so expensive. It seemed that I was charged the same high rate regardless of what they actually did to clean the purse. So whether it was simple to clean or complicated, I was still paying the same amount. I haven't shopped around, though, so perhaps their rates/procedure are standard.

I decided to bring the section out to him so he could look at it, and to save the $50 pick-up fee. He and his assistant gladly helped me unload it from my trailer. We talked about replacing the affected vinyl with a matching color leather, so as to prevent the issue from reoccurring. He had to replace the vinyl on three cushion sides, which meant taking the material off both seats (the recliner and the fixed seat), replacing the vinyl cushion side parts with leather, and replacing the upholstery back on the frame. He quoted $305 (which included the 10% Angie's List discount) and said it would take about three weeks, which was fine because we weren't in any hurry at all. Then I remembered there was a small tear in the vinyl under the fold of the arm, and pointed it out. Chris said no problem, he'd fix that and include it for no additional charge! As the end of the third week approached, I got a call saying the section was ready. Plus, he said he was going to be in the neighborhood the next day, and would even drop it off at my house (for free!). The work was exceptional...the seating looked just as it did before, but the torn vinyl was now replaced with leather that matched the burgundy color beautifully. He also washed off all of the residue left from the duct tape adhesive (and there was a lot) and, of course, the tear in the arm was fixed, too. If you have furniture needing repair, whether old or new, leather or fabric, you need to consider Chris, for all of these reasons: (1) He finished on time (2) His quote was accurate (3) His price was very reasonable (4) He gives an Angie's List discount (5) If the opportunity presents itself, he goes the extra mile, like fixing the arm at no extra charge and delivering it to me for free (saving me a trip to St. Paul) (6) His work was exceptional I can't say enough about Chris. If I need more furniture work done, Chris is my man.
