Child Day Care reviews in Milwaukee

This is an excellent childcare center. I wish I would have started out here, but after a different daycare and a nanny didn't work out, we found a perfect fit at Indian Hills. The best thing is the 3 children to 1 teacher ratio. It makes such a difference in the care. Yes, you pay more for it, but it is still considerably cheaper than a nanny and I think better. The first classroom is mixed age (so 8 weeks-2 years) and my child has learned so much by being with older children. They have a separate nap area that is very soothing for the kids so they actually take normal naps at daycare. The teachers are energetic and always playing on the floor or holding the kids. It is a small center, so all the teachers know all the kids. I The on-site director and the director for all of Milestones are very responsive.

They worked efficiently. We had things come up right away that they took care of. They were very punctual - some things were not seen initially and he still stuck with his estimate. Let us know right away. We were very pleased with their attitude and work ethic.

My son loves it. There are sixteen children and three full time teachers in my son's class. The teachers are warm and caring. My son is very very happy there. He gets to do fun things there. They have a garden where they grow their own snacks, two big play grounds, and lots of grassy space. Whatever the kids are interested in are what the lessons are based on. They teach the kids how to bake, social skills, and to seek out their own learning experiences.

CELC is the absolute best daycare provider I could have ever wished for for my sons. My older boy has been attending there for a year now, he is 2.5 years. He loves the teachers and always comes home talking about his friends. When he began attending he wasn't talking much but within a few weeks his speech blossomed. They are very flexible and respectful of people of all cultures and backgrounds and I love that! They teach the students letters, colors, numbers, and so many things I can't even list. Every day a art project seems to be sent home. I am so thankful there was an opening for my sons here. If you have a chance to use this center you should! I know the spaces are filling up now because it is becoming so popular.

    Rite-Hite Family Ymca
I like the fact that they do a mix of physical activity and structured play for the kids. It also is very reasonably priced. My child attended twice a week before and after school. It is a large group so it has a lot of opportunity for socialization. There are a variety of ages and it is really convenient because our neighborhood elementary school is close so they walk the kids to and from the facility so parents don't have to pick them up. There also is a deep discount available for YMCA memberships if your child attends this daycare. They are pretty easy to work with.

Cost is decided and agreed upon in advanced but is changed without notice even if payments have been paid for previous dates if state aid is not provided.

    Nanny Connections
Quite frankly it could not have gone worse with this nanny agency: We needed a nanny urgently for our two children after moving and contacted nanny connections. Albeit Tiffanie the rep for Wisconsin was very nice and responsive in the beginning we had trouble from the get-go on getting a good match. Initially we got matched with Nannies that were about 4-5$/hr above Milwaukee market rate. Once we got some matches personalities, circumstances or work history did not work. Nannies either had kids at home and were highly limited in their work hour flexibility, they got "bored" in their previous jobs and now wanted to try this out or we're highly unexperienced. Eventually, due to time pressure we found a nanny that we thought was ok albeit not great. We quickly learned differently. Not only did this nanny manage to get our 2 year old to throw up within 30min of being alone by forcing her physically to take off her diaper, she also approached us with a "business opportunity" that Tiffanie the nanny rep had offered her. Apparently Tiffanie runs a pyramid scheme for perfume on the side and offers the nanny she brokers the "opportunity for some extra cash". I can't tell you how many red flags came for us. In our opinion, the nanny we hire and pay well, is primarily responsible to take care of and care for our children. It becomes a question for us when the nanny starts working on the side without discussing with us first and even more so, when it is a pyramid scheme brokered through the nanny agency! Needless to say, we let this nanny go and after another 3 success less matches, we asked Tiffanie to refund us the success fee of $1,500. Tiffanie was irate over this request, stating she was only getting started with nannies (10+ nanny matches in) and it is ridiculous that we were concerned about the nannies distributing perfume on the side...she did confirm however that she was making money off the nannies' sales, making us wonder if she was in the business of offering the best child care for our children or profit maximization. We haven't seen our success fee back and aren't banking on seeing it, we do want to warn everyone looking for a nanny agency though to not use this provider's services.

    Maple Ridge Health & Rehabilitation
I just received in the mail today permission to have my mother's teeth cleaned and her toenails cut at Maple Ridge. She was admitted and left that facility over six months ago! I thought they had taken care of her teeth and nails within the first month. There was one good nurse at Maple Ridge that wore pink uniforms and she would actually care about the patients. If the nurses don't take care and alarrm the doctor to changes in your loved ones health care they will die in that facility. They have over 100 patients and do not have enough help and the help they do have just sits at the desk doing paperwork(RN's) and the CNA can't be found because they have ONE CNA for about 50 patients.!! If you tour this facility it looks nice but just notice how bad it smells. Even the kitchen had this horriable odor. They let patients sit in their bed with poop in their pants and it's like that everyday. The current nursing home my mother is in(Muskego Health Care) had Activity Aids that keeps an eye on the patients in one big room together. They watch old movies and are all together. Maple Ridge lets everyone sit in the hallway, there are no evening activities, nothing. Just sit there with the doors unlocked.. Please stay away from this facility.. staff is nasty..
