Set an appointment with Matt for an estimate on repairs at a house I own in Memphis. Set the appointment on a monday for that wednesday at 4:30. He asked me to text him my address and I said I would call him wednesday prior to the appointment to confirm. I called him on wednesday ,he said he was just leaving another customer's place , but that I had forgotten to text him my address . I said no problem, I would give it to him then. He then hesitated and then said he wouldn't make it before I even gave my address to him ,despite his knowing in which general neighborhood he needed to be, as per our conversation monday. Did not give me a reason . When I asked , he mumbled something about just leaving a customer's place . I think he just didn't feel like doing the work. My time is valuable and I am very busy .In fact, I flew in from out of state to take care of business on this house . I try not to waste my time or other's time and do what I say I will ..general grown up professional respectful stuff . Then he says he could come out the next day at 4. I thought that not having my address texted to him as opposed to just giving it to him then was not a valid reason to cancel . As I've said ,he knew my general neighborhood from our conversation monday and understood where he would need to be and when regardless. Gave it another chance anyway ,changed the appointment to the next day at 4. Texted the address as soon as we hung up confirming date/time as discussed. He never showed up ,never responded to my texts or answered the phone . His name is Matt .He is unprofessional, unreliable, and disrespectful .A complete waste of a week of my time trying to set up an estimate. It gives me a pretty good idea about the issues I would have had if I had hired them and this is a very lengthy expensive project . I would never recommend a company with this kind of service,or lack of it.

    Handyworks Complete Home
This went well. We went into it knowing it would be messy and take several days, after we accepted HandyWorks estimate they did a walk-through before work started and explained the impact we could expect, asked about particular items of concern, explained that they would put up barriers and so forth to contain the mess as much as possible and keep it off the wood floors, and set out the initial plan for the sequence of work, understanding cure and dry times can vary. We had a very large area of popcorn ceiling to scrape down with a few odd angles and an adjacent hallway, much of it higher than standard, needed to repair a hole big enough for an adult to drop through from the attic, properly attach the previously-only-nailed ceiling with screws, resurface and paint ceiling, peel grasscloth wallpaper from tall walls and repair and paint walls. We are very satisfied with the results. Watching friends & fam deal with contractors over the years, I'd concluded that no project meets its original timeline and there are always some little stupid problems. There was pleasantly little of that, we had a minor phone number mixup which may have trivially affected the job scheduling and we didn't discover until later, and the job only went one day longer than the plan, which was due to tape pulling off some old paint in a hallway (I've done this before too, happens particularly when prior paint job was inexpert) and HandyWorks matched paint for the repair to make it right and took care of it immediately. Rodney, Fresmenda, Al and the rest of the team were all pleasant to deal with and did a good job, showed up when they said they would and kept us notified of milestones and progress. We paid a deposit of half on the first day and the balance after final walk-through. The final state looks really good. It probably says the most that we started setting up an estimate for a completely unrelated job with Handyworks as they finished clean up and were leaving from this one.

    France Paint Co
Mr. France did an excellent job of communicating. Bruce promptly returned my initial call even though he was on vacation. He kept us informed on what work would be done each day. His crew was on time & if there was a delay, he called to let us know. His crew was very polite and friendly. I felt very comfortable having them in my home. Mr. France was very committed to doing the job right. I chose France Painting Co. because of his excellent reviews on Angie's List & his BBB rating. His company's quality workmanship certainly lived up to those reviews.

    DRI Contractors
Tom came out, did a walk through with our list of repairs and got back to us promptly. Once the weather allowed, he and his crew came in and knocked it out ahead of schedule. The quality of the work is top notch and the price was more than fair for the laundry list of things we had done. Tom and his crew were absolutely great from start to finish and we highly recommend them for all of your household needs.

    Chris Gavin Painting
Chris and Arturo are both professional, reliable and trustworthy. I got about 4 quotes for the job I wanted done and I knew right away that Chris would do a great job-and would make sure we were happy with the work. He and Arturo showed up on time every day, and always made sure I knew about their schedule and how long they would be be at my house each day working (so I could plan my day accordingly). We still have a lot of painting we need to get done in our house-and we will definitely use Chris and Arturo.

    Fixologist
Matthew is very professional, always on time and treats the house as if it were his own. The work area was spotless when he was done and the painting was perfect. He used excellent judgement in his repairs and techniques. I would highly recommend him for any repair, improvement or painting need you may have. He is a gentleman and is very responsive to any request.

    Handyworks Complete Home
Rodney, the owner is a very nice and professional businessman. After going back and forth with the paint color and specifics, the painting was agreed upon. We were specific in what should and should not be painted, but communication between the owner and the painters seemed to break down and things were either panted that should not have been, or painted the wrong color.
Several areas of caulking needed to be redone. Wallpaper from one of the rooms was to be removed and the walls prepped for painting at a different date. I noticed that some of the wallpaper was removed, while other areas were being painted over. After some discussion, the wallpaper was removed. Unfortunately, a lot of the glue remained because it stated to show itself after the room was eventually panted. It made for unnecessary cost and time.
All my door hinges were not to be painted but were. This led to my having to vacate my house for a weekend while this was corrected.
Doors and banisters were not to be painted, but were. I ended up leaving it as is because I didn't want to deal with the time element involved in correcting it.
The timeline on this took well over 2 weeks. Some of the reason for the extended time was my fault and some was the company's. I feel that overall they did an adequate job for the price, but the cleanup was unsatisfactory and attention to detail was poor.
Most of all I felt that I was the one that had to make sure the workers did their job correctly instead of Rodney the owner. Because I was out of town most of the time, this was difficult and mostly after the fact.

    Riggins Painting
Chris Riggins came out and gave a bid for the work that was to be done.....wallpaper removal, painting the kitchen walls and some faux finishing.  Chris and Brian started the job within a weeks time.... they were awesome !!!  After one coat of the color that I had picked out I was not happy with the color.  Chris was very patient and helped me select another color which I was happy with.  They are GREAT painters and did not get one drop of paint where it was not supposed to be !!!  I would definitely use them again for any painting needs that I have.  GREAT JOB !!

    Jeans Painting & Wallcovering
Derrel was a pleasure to work with.  He's a very pleasant individual and very diligent about his work and clean.  He takes his time and really focuses on doing quality work and it shows.  I had him remove wallpaper and clean up the glue on the walls.  He then patched, primed the walls and left them ready for painting.  He would arrive on time and he would clean up and leave everything nice and clean in the afternoon before he left for the day.  I would not hesitate to hire him again and I plan to.
