  • After about 3 visits, I made an appointment, thinking that I had been there 3 months ago, when in fact it had been one month only (my fault) however; the staff made my appointment - when I asked them to confirm my last visit, they told me it had been 3 months, rather than the one....at $200+ visit, I was disappointed.  I don't blame all of this on them; however, it certainly left a question of honesty in my mind.  They should have told me, "no, your last appointment was......, you don't need to come in now."

  • Please note: Do you really want to risk it!!!
The picture with the zig zag stitch is call a z-plasty. it is a procedure that was done on me to try and get rid of the tuck under my right eye which remained after my eye-lift. I went to an ophthamology reconstructive specialist to try to repair the damage done to my eye. It was my second repair after Johnson performed the eye-lift.

Johnson performed an eye lift on me and when I got home I noticed a pinch or tuck in the stitches at the corner of my right eye. I called him immediately crying and he said to come in the next day which I did. He said it would work itself out. Of course, after healing there was a tuck or pleat in the corner of my right eye. He repeatedly said to me, and quot;I stand by my workand quot;....Hahaha. he tried to do a revision which only made it worse. After that I went to a different Dr. for a revision (see picture with zig zag stitches) which made it a little better but when you have messed up the muscles and stitching, repair is not going to be perfect. One Dr. I went to said to me, and quot;it is not going to be perfectand quot;.. Well here I am today with a permanent scar under my right eye (see other pictures). I would never let this man touch me again for any procedure. I don't think rating office staff or punctuality or billing and administration should apply in a case where the surgeon messed up my eye. What do any of those things have to do with a permanent scar??? I hope you get the meaning of what I am saying and proceed with caution. I asked him for my money back and he refused. He DID pay for the 2nd revision, but a lot that did for correcting permanent scarring. He also did a supposedly muscle life in my cheeks, but there was no visible difference to me. A lot of money flushed AND more to spend to revise my eye.

  • I was in a car accident years ago when I was a child and Dr. Walter Efird did a few things for me that I had to have done. He was excellent. At the surgery center, almost every one of the nurses that worked there that had any kind of cosmetic surgery, he had performed the surgery. That said a lot to me. People in the medical field who had required surgery had chosen him. I also lost 200 pounds and he did the abdominoplasty. Insurance apparently is going to pay for all the skin on my thighs, but they won't pay for my arms. Apparently that's cosmetic. I have to go back to him soon for more procedures.

  • I've been going to him for six years. He's outstanding and his bedside manner is exceptional. He's very thorough, kind, professional, punctual and sincere. His results are phenomenal. The office is not computerized yet. They are a little outdated.

  • He was VERY scared about having the teeth pulled, but it went so well that I would recommend Dr Sextin very, very highly. My son was crying so hard, it was hard for him to even breathe the gas; but Dr Sexton has a wonderful bedside manner and a great staff. My son actually thanked Dr Sexton as we left.

  • I went to Dr. Dan Shell to have several moles removed -- eight total. After the surgery was preformed, I received an OUTRAGEOUS bill (close to the close of heart by-pass surgery). Thankfully my heath insurance covered the majority of the expense. Furthermore, I was left with horrible scars. Dr. Shell is a plastic surgeon. I followed post-surgery treatment and applied ointment to the designated areas and still have ugly scars covering several places on my body. He did not deserve to earn that amount of money if he cannot complete a procedure without damaging the look of my skin.

  • I was told by my dentist to have my top impacted wisdom teeth taken out. I wasn't thrilled as I am 55 years old and they weren't bothering me. However, they were apparently moving some of my top molars around. I was referred to Dr. Sexton. I arrived at the office and had to wait all of 5 minutes before meeting Dr. Sexton. He looked at the Xrays provided by my dentist and wasn't convinced my wisdom teeth had to come out. He took another set of Xrays (he didn't charge me for them) and decided that he ultimately agreed with my dentist. He could tell I was dreading the surgery, as the previous wisdom tooth I had removed hadn't gone very well. He answered all my questions, particularly the ones about anesthesia, as I have had problems with certain kinds of drugs. He was very thorough and kind and put me at ease. The surgery went very smoothly, and I was on my way in an hour and a half with two less teeth. The staff made sure I was feeling OK before they let me go with a list of phone numbers in case I had any issues. The staff was marvelous, the instructions were very clear and I had no issues at all. I came back for a follow up visit and again the staff was great, Dr. Sexton was punctual and all went well. Overall, the whole place ran like a swiss watch.

  • After my husband's dermatologist discovered a melanoma, he refereed him to Martin Fleming, an Oncology Surgeon. He in turn said that because of the location of the melanoma on his head, he wanted to call in a plastic surgeon to do the closing and highly recommended Robert Chandler, with whom he had worked many times before.

I made an appointment and with Dr. Chandler and my accompanied my husband for the examination. His staff was very helpful over the phone, explaining in detail how to locate their office, and once we arrived, were very friendly. Dr. Chandler met with my husband within ten minutes of his scheduled appointment. He examined him and carefully explained what needed to be done, the complications involved, and what outcome to expect. His bedside manner was very warm and friendly and did a lot to ease what worries that we had.

The day of the surgery, Dr. Chandler was the first to meet with my husband and told him that the location of the melanoma was a bit unusual and that he had consulted several reference works to be sure that the procedure that he used was the most current and best advised practice.

After the surgery, he meet with me and carefully explained what all he had done. He then described the followup care that would be needed and signs to watch for that might indicate a problem. His explanation was very matter of fact and un-rushed, and he made sure that I understood everything that he was saying. My husband's recovery went without any complications.

On the follow up visit, my husband says that he was very punctual (which is important to him) and very through. He says that it was evident that Dr. Chandler was very proud of the work that he had done and even took time to explain some of the types of things that have to be considered such as when doing a skin graft of the scalp, a good surgeon matches up the angle of the hair grow so that it blends in with the surrounding hair better.

I feel that we were very fortunate to find Dr. Chandler. He seems to have an excellent reputation among the other doctors in town and is highly respected. I can see why.
